Is Elon Musk a Men’s Rights Activist? No, says Grimes; he’s just really immature

Elon Musk and his improbable paramour

Whatever you might think abut his stupid car tunnel, or his baby’s ridiculous name, or even his unwelcome attempts to insert himself into the rescue of a group of Thai soccer players trapped in a cave, you’ve got to give Elon Musk credit for one thing: he’s also a huge jackass on Twitter, perpetually tweeting “politically incorrect” quips like the aging edgelord he apparently thinks he is.

Check out my review of Laura Bates’ “Men Who Hate Women” on NPR

I‘ve got a review up on NPR.com of Laura Bates’ new book Men Who Hate Women, an often disturbing deep dive into the worlds of incels, MGTOWs, Red Pillers and assorted other manosphere misogynists.

MRA TERFs transmisogyny transphobia

Men’s Rights activist tries to convince fellow MRAs that trans people “are our most valuable allies.” It doesn’t go well.

La la la, I can’t hear you

Transphobe activists like to flip words around to serve their peculiar political purposes. Unwilling to call trans women trans women, they invert the gender and label them “Trans-Identified males,” which (according to the twisted transphobe logic) makes everyone who supports trans women into “Men’s Rights Activists.”

In 2010, men’s rights lawyer Roy Dean Hollander wrote an inflammatory piece for the men’s rights hate site A Voice for Men declaring that men might be forced to take up arms to defeat what he saw as the tyranny of feminism.

Was Roy Den Hollander an “extreme” Men’s Rights Activist? No, he was well within the MRA mainstream

There’s a story in the New York Times today about a video statement put out by Judge Esther Salas, whose son was shot dead and her husband wounded by the self-described antifeminist attorney Roy Den Hollander in what appears to have been a botched hit job targeting her. It’s a heartbreaking story, as Salas recounts the events that shattered her life that awful Sunday two weeks ago.

Paul Elam and Roy Den Hollander: Two-headed monster?

By David Futrelle

A Voice for Men is trying its best to distance itself from Roy Den Hollander, the rabidly antifeminist lawyer thought to have gunned down the son and the husband of a federal judge and who seems to be linked to the murder of a rival Men’s Rights attorney in California.

Creepy dudes catcalling 14-year-old girls is really no big deal because alligators

By David Futrelle

Here’s an interesting little exchange on Tumblr between a woman discussing how common it is for creepy older dudes to catcall girls in their early teens and another woman who thinks it’s no big deal. Because it doesn’t involve alligators.

No, really.

So over in the Men’s Rights subreddit, they’re discussing whether or not “LGBT men” have it better than straight men, because of course they are. (I can only wonder what they think the “L” in LGBT stands for.) And naturally, some think that straight men are the ones getting the short end of the stick, at least in the so-called sexual marketplace.
