Millions of women (and men) took to the streets in cities around the world yesterday to give a big middle finger to Donald Trump, and it was a lovely sight to behold.

It’s been quite a week! Today’s #ResistTrump mission is easy as pie: Go to the White House web page and sign this petition demanding that Trump release his tax returns.
An estimated 2.5 million people, mostly women, marched today against Trump worldwide. Others protested yesterday. Were you one of them? Share your story, share your pictures and videos in the comments! Or any good photos and videos you’ve run across online.
I think what we’ve got here is a real mass movement.
No trolls or Trump fans in this thread, please.
So here’s an open thread to discuss the inauguration of popular vote loser and possible Russian agent Donald Trump. No trolls, Trump fans, etc.
I think I might go all Chuck Tingle and live-tweet a bizarro world version of the event. Or not. I don’t know.
If you’re not going to Washington to protest the inauguration, don’t worry! There are literally hundreds of local protests scheduled to take place across the country — local marches scheduled to coincide with the Women’s March in Washington on Saturday. as well as plenty on inauguration day itself.
Sometimes it’s hard not to think that Unpresident-Elect Trump’s cabinet picks aren’t all an elaborate joke, given how utterly unprepared most of them have been, not to mention the hostility so many of them have for the departments they hope to run.
And the confirmation hearings continue. The biggest priority? Urging senators to block the nomination of Tom Price for Secretary of Health and Human Services.
UPDATE 1/18/17: DeVos’ hearings were an utter fiasco; she made clear she lacks even a basic understanding of education issues. Mother Jones has gathered together videos of her worst moments here; Vox looks at one key issue she evidently knows nothing about. Also, BEARS!
Time to pester your senators again, this time about Donald Trump’s awful pick for Secretary of Education: Betsy DeVos, a billionaire school-privatization fanatic who’s devoted more than two decades to questionable education “reforms” that put more government money into the pockets of private corporations and Christian schools while undermining public schools.
UPDATE 1/18/17: As of midday today, the number of congresspeople who are skipping the inauguration has reached 58. See here for a running tally.
Last week, Civil Rights legend and 16-term Congressman John Lewis made a bombshell announcement, declaring in an interview with NBC that he does not think Donald Trump was legitimately elected president. Because of this, he went on to say, he will not be attending the inauguration this Friday.
You may have seen this one already, but, really, this has got to be the most poetically apt illustration of what a nightmare Trump has been/will be for women that I have yet seen.
