Yesterday, at long last, Reddit banned the MGTOW and MGTOW2 subreddits for promoting hate.
After I posted the news to Twitter one angry respondent asked why:
Well, it took them long enough.
Today, at long last, the Reddit admins banned the Men Going Their Own Way subreddit for promoting hate; they also dropped the ban hammer on MGTOW2, the main subreddit’s purportedly hate-free alternative. (Attempts by Reddit’s MGTOWs to evade the ban were quickly squashed.)
As I noted not long ago, the Ask The Red Pill subreddit has locked itself down and moved to a new non-Reddit address. But the old posts are all still there, and this little blast from 11 days in the past is pretty much guaranteed to creep you out. Even if you have to read it twice before it starts to make sense.
Reddit is one of the world’s biggest repositories of terrible wrong crap. So I thought I’d take a little look to see what people in Reddit’s wrongest subreddits had to say about Bill Cosby’s release from prison on a technicality.
Last night, I sent my browser to a familiar place — the often comical Ask The Red Pill subreddit — only to discover a ghost town. The threads had been locked down — no more replies possible — and a note stickied to the top of the page reported that “We have moved to Forums.Red – Posting here is locked.” Clicking on the link sends you to the new location, which at the moment seems as much of a ghost town as the original.
Over in the Men Going Their Own Way subreddit, an excitable fellow by the name of ClutchNes is giving a little pep talk to his peers.
There’s an old saying that Red Pillers have made their own: “Men age like fine wine; woman age like milk.” Red Pill lore states that women are at their peak attractiveness in their teens and early twenties, after which they “hit the wall” at age 30 or so and rapidly lose their looks, ultimately becoming attractive only to the most desperate of men.
Actress Evan Rachel Wood has been speaking out for years about the abuse she says she endured at the hands of one of her exes. Today, in an Instagram post, she dropped his name, and for most of those familiar with her story, it didn’t come as a big surprise:
So you’ve heard about the whole GameStop thing, right? The denizens of a stock trading subreddit have collectively levitated the stock price of troubled game retailer GameStop up roughly a kajillion percent since last fall, screwing over several hedge funds that were betting on the company’s stock going down the toilet. (You can get all the gory details of what’s going on here.)
Of all the ridiculous bits of red pill jargon that litter the conversations wherever red pillers gather to talk, probably the most ridiculous is the term “plate” — used to mean a woman you’re regularly fucking in some sort of Friends With Benefits kind of way.
