Today marks the beginning of the Fourth Quarter 2014 We Hunted the Mammoth Pledge Drive! Which is another way of saying “several days in which I beg you all for money.”

To repeat my simple pitch from my previous pledge drives: If you enjoy this blog, and can afford it, please click on the “donate” button below and send a few bucks my way. Or, if you’d prefer, a lot of bucks. You don’t need a PayPal account; credit cards are accepted, and there are other options as well. If you’re outside the US, PayPal will automatically convert your weird non-American money into American bucks.

Oh, and the PayPal page will say you’re donating to Man Boobz; don’t panic! That’s just the old name of the blog.

As always, your donations are all greatly appreciated, whatever size they are. They keep me, the cats, and this blog going. And thanks to all of those who donate between pledge drives as well! Some of you are really going above and beyond, and it means a lot to me.

While I’m at it, I should point out that I also greatly appreciate all the non-monetary things you all do to support the blog , from contributing smart and funny comments, designing graphics, sending me tips on stuff to write about, sharing posts on Twitter and Facebook, moderating comments, and so on.

This past quarter has been the biggest quarter ever for We Hunted the Mammoth; over the past three months, the site has averaged more than a million page views per month. And the total number of comments left since the blog began is approaching half a million. No, really. Thanks, everyone!

Well, except the trolls.

The ritual posting of animated cat gifs brings an end to the Third Quarter We Hunted the Mammoth Pledge Drive.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of animated kitties: THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS, whether they were big or small! They enable me to keep this blog going and to afford shoes for my kitties. Well, not the part about the shoes. I’m not sure why I said that.

In any case, once again I’m humbled that so many of you all think this blog is important enough (or at least entertaining enough) to support with your donations.

And that so many of you contribute your time and your talents to help out as well, whether you’re volunteering as a mod or drawing hilarious pictures or leaving sharp and funny and knowledgeable comments.

If you meant to donate bug haven’t gotten around to it yet, here’s that link again. (And don’t worry that the PalPal page says “Man Boobz.”)

And of course you can donate any time you want using the button in the sidebar.

Some folks have suggested that I set up a Patreon account as well; I will be looking into that.

As the telltale “cats with money” pic indicates, the time has come for the Third Quarter 2014 We Hunted the Mammoth Pledge Drive!

As always, your donations are all greatly appreciated, whatever size they are. They keep me, the cats, and this blog going. Oh, and that other blog of mine as well, that Confused Cats thing.

We Hunted the Mammoth is reaching more people than ever these days, racking up close to 3 million more page views just since the Second Quarter Pledge Drive only a little more than 3 months ago.

And the number of comments is not-so-slowly but surely creeping towards half a million. No, really. We recently topped 450,000. Holy crap. That’s a lot of comments.

Well, the first official We Hunted the Mammoth pledge drive is coming to a close, and so naturally I would like to thank Obama for the hard-shell tacos, and all of you who donated so generously for making this the best pledge drive ever! Seriously, I’m humbled. I appreciate the hell out of all of you.

And I appreciate all the non-monetary forms of support I get from you all as well, from comments to notes to tips on  horribly misogynistic things I should check out.

I always use these pledge drives as an excuse to brag about page views, and I’m not going to stop: We Hunted the Mammoth has now received more than 15 million page views since its inception as Man Boobz on Blogger in 2010. And you all have posted more than 400,000 comments. Which is kind of staggering, really.

To all the MRAs out there who think I write all the comments here, really? THERE ARE 400,000 OF THEM. Lots of them talking about stuff I don’t even know about! Because the commenters here rock!

Your donations — and other forms of support — have kept this blog going through some tough times. At the time of the last Pledge Drive, I was broke and, frankly, more than a little discouraged, and the outpouring of support from you all made an enormous difference to me. I’ve been a bit tardy — in many cases  very tardy — in getting back to people individually with thanks, but I really do appreciate the help. Just a quick note to let you all know that the response to the Man Boobz pledge drive has been amazing. I am once again humbled by the outpouring of support.

Thanks, everyone, for the donations! I appreciate each and every one of them, big or small. (Sorry I’m a little behind in sending out the personal thank yous; I’ve been sidelined a bit by migraine this week.)

Given how well it’s gone, I’m going to wind the pledge drive up a little early this time, and stop with the naggy reminders, because I know how annoying those can be.
