It’s pledge drive time once again! We Hunted the Mammoth is ad-free, and depends entirely on support from people like you. If you appreciate this blog and its one-of-a-kind perspective, please consider donating by clicking the button below.
Big thanks to those who came through in the last couple of days with donations, and to everyone who donated during this pledge drive. (As well as to those of you who donate monthly and between pledge drives.)
We didn’t quite reach the goal I set for this pledge drive, but we came very very close. So I’m going to bring this extended pledge drive to a close. Though if you haven’t donated yet and want to get in on the action, the button below will take care of all your needs.
As I’ve said before, I love doing this blog (often despite the subject matter) and I’m glad you find it valuable in some ways, whether you’re keeping up with the current state of inceldom or simply enjoying some hearty MGTOW cooking. (Vicariously, I hope; those guys don’t seem to understand how to safely cook meat.)
Thanks again to all who donated — and all of you who give to this blog in non-financial ways, whether it’s sending me story tips, warning me about trolls in the comments, sharing posts on social media, or whatever else you may do. And thanks to those who keep the comments lively and informative.
I’m extending the pledge drive a few more days because, unfortunately, the donations so far have not been enough to cover my basic expenses much less the cost of some unfortunate but necessary dental work. We’re only about 2/3 of the way there yet.
You can donate by clicking the button below (even if you don’t have a PayPal account).
Many of you have already donated, some quite generously, and I am extremely grateful for your support (as I am for the support of you monthly donors). But if you haven’t donated yet, please do! I realize that some of you have been hit hard by the pandemic and can’t afford to give now. But if you’re doing ok and can possibly swing a donation, I sure would appreciate it.
You’ll be providing a lifeline for me and for this blog, a unique and independent media outlet that delivers (almost) daily coverage of some of the worst people out there in our current political hellscape. All without ads and hectoring popups.
As I’ve said before, I love doing this blog, and I’m grateful it’s connected with so many of you. I could not have kept We Hunted the Mammoth going for nearly ten years without your help, and I hope that with your continued support we can keep the blog running smoothly for many more years.
It’s time (past time, really) for a pledge drive! If you appreciate this blog and its unique perspective, please consider donating by clicking the button below.
You can also donate by Venmo at David-Futrelle-1.
There’s no other blog quite like this one and your donations are what keep it alive. WHTM is ad-free, and I don’t pester you with popups asking for donations every time you visit. (I try to limit my pestering to these pledge drives.) There’s no mysterious billionaire keeping me afloat. This is a one dude, two cat operation.
I know this is a difficult time to ask for donations; many of you I am sure are as strapped as I am at the moment. But if you can afford to donate, please do. And if you can donate a little extra to make up for those who can’t donate now, that would be even better. You don’t know how much I appreciate it.
And if you’re one of those who donates monthly or has donated a lump sum since the last pledge drive, thank you so much!
My financial situation is, I’m sad to report, pretty precarious. I don’t have the money to cover either my rent or my insurance payment at the end of the month. And I’m still struggling with medical bills. I had to cover several thousand dollars worth of emergency dental work this spring and at the moment I don’t have the money to actually get the job finished. So every little bit you can spare would help a great deal.
The pledge drive is in trouble, and I really need your help.
Though many of you have already donated – and I can’t thank you enough for that – the total so far is considerably less than I need to cover my expenses. So if you haven’t donated yet, please do.
I know this is an
awkward time to ask for money. But if you can spare even a few
dollars, you’ll be providing a lifeline to an independent, ad-free
blog that deflates some of the most toxic shit out there in the “Red
Pill” world. And you’ll enable me to keep serving up daily posts
without worrying constantly about how to cover the next rent check.
Or insurance
premium. Most of my money problems are due to the US’s mess of a
health care system – I spend more on medical expenses than I do on
rent. A recent trip to the emergency room for searing back pain
didn’t exactly help my financial position.
I’m expecting
things to improve in 2020. I’m working on building up my freelance
writing business again, and I’ll be unveiling a new project soon.
But right now, frankly, I need all the help I can get.
I love doing this blog, and I’m forever grateful that it brings something to so many people’s lives. You folks – pledge drive donors and regular supporters — have enabled me to keep We Hunted the Mammoth going for nine years, and I hope that together we can keep it going for the tenth year and beyond.
Today marks the start of the third and final fund drive of 2019 for We Hunted the Mammoth. Let’s close out the decade on a high note! By which I mean: please donate if you possibly can.
NOTE: The PayPal links should be working now!
If you read this blog regularly, making a donation is a bit like giving a present to yourself. We Hunted the Mammoth owes its continued existence solely to donations from people like you. There are no ads, no secret troves of Soros cash behind this blog. I’m just a guy with a couple of cats in a messy apartment. (And frankly, the cats aren’t much help.)
All you need to do is click on the little button, so here it is again. You don’t need a PayPal account; a credit card is fine.
If you want to avoid PayPal, you can Venmo me at David-Futrelle-1. (If neither way works for you, email me at dfutrelle at gmail and we can figure something out.)
If it’s easier for you, consider donating on a monthly basis. Even $5 or $10 a month can make a big difference to the financial stability of the blog (and of me).
If you can’t swing a donation right now, there are other ways to contribute – offering tips, publicizing posts on social media, offering technical advice, providing insights in the comments sections, and so on.
Thanks in advance, and thanks as well to those who already donate monthly or between the pledge drives. Sustained support like yours is crucial to keeping We Hunted the Mammoth going!
As I bring this more-urgent-than usual pledge drive to a close, I’d like to offer a huge thanks to everyone who made it a success: we’ve raised what I needed to keep me and the blog going. I asked for more than usual this time and you came through. I’m grateful for everyone who donated, from small donors to those who truly went above and beyond. It’s incredibly heartening to see how many people support this blog and what it’s trying to accomplish.
If you meant to donate but haven’t gotten around to it, please feel free to click the button below.
I also want to offer my huge thanks to those who donate between pledge drives, whether one-time donations or monthly pledges.; you play a critical role in keeping this blog afloat.
And if you aren’t able to donate financially but still want to help in some way, I always appreciate comments on the posts, promotion on social media, tips on possible stories to cover, fan art, technical help, or really anything else you can come up with that might help the blog. (Send your ideas to dfutrelle at gmail.)
Big thanks to everyone who has donated during this pledge drive as well as to those who give between drives and on a monthly basis. Once again I am humbled by your generosity — in some cases quite extraordinary — and deeply heartened by your support for me, this blog, and its mission.
It’s good to know that this blog has resonated with so many people. I know, because some of you have told me, that it’s providing a real and unique service — helping individuals understand and deal with (and sometime laugh at) the strange misogynistic backlash we’re living through, providing reporters and researchers with a vast trove of carefully documented evidence of what the manosphere is really about. If you believe this is a worthwhile endeavor — or even if you just enjoy the sheer strangeness of the stuff I unearth on a daily basis — please donate so I can keep doing this
We’re getting within shouting distance of raising what I need to keep this blog going (and to keep it ad-free). But we’re not there yet. So if you haven’t donated yet, please give what you can by clicking that little button below. (And if you want to donate without PayPal I also have a Venmo, or we can work something else out.)
The time has arrived once again for that several-times-yearly ritual of the pledge drive, where I come to you, loyal readers, with hat in hand to ask for the donations that will keep me, and this blog, running. And this pledge drive, like the last, is an urgent one.
At the time of the last pledge drive, seven months ago, I was in pretty dire straits, facing a financial crisis that could have left me unable to pay my rent and other basic expenses. You all came through in a huge way; I was and still am humbled by your generosity. It was incredibly heartening to discover how much We Hunted the Mammoth means to you. And it’s heartening as well to see how many more of you have begun contributing between pledge drives, many monthly. A very large thank you to all of you!
Unfortunately, I’m not out of the woods yet, and many of the same issues make this pledge drive nearly as urgent as the last one. The main reason? For most of the nine years of its existence, I heavily subsidized this blog out of my 401(k) savings. But those savings are gone. And I’m still burdened with oversized medical bills and ongoing medical expenses. I’m working on ramping up freelance work, but it’s taking longer than I’d hoped.
If you want to keep this blog (and its owner) running smoothly, please, please donate if you possibly can; or (if you already donate), send along a little (or a lot) more than usual.
Here’s that button again.
You don’t need a PayPal account to donate using this button; credit cards are fine. And if you want to avoid PayPal altogether, email me at [email protected] and I’ll let you know how. I will also be putting up a long-awaited Patreon page soon as well. THANKS!
If you can’t
afford a donation right now, there are of course many other ways to
support the blog. I love getting tips from readers. I love it when
people share my posts on social media or pass them along to friends.
If you have other ideas or special talents you can offer, let me
know!
I honestly don’t know what to say! I’m awed and humbled by your amazing response to the emergency fundraising appeal I put up yesterday. You’ve pulled me back from the financial brink and provided me with the resources I need to get through the next several months while I work to put the blog (and myself) on a more solid financial footing for the long term.
