It’s Sunday again, which means another off topic music post.
Bruce Woolley should have been a contender. He co-wrote “Video Killed the Radio Star” but it wasn’t his version of the song that became a hit; his friends The Buggles — playing up the retro quirkiness of the song and adding the “owa owas” that Woolley’s version lacked — grabbed that slot for themselves.

In the summer of 1977, Marc Bolan of T. Rex got his own music TV show on British television, and it was one of the strangest and most fascinating things I’ve ever seen. All six of the shows that were produced are now up on YouTube.

We’re going way off topic today, but sometimes I really need to clear my head of all things terrible, and fill it with things that are good. And what better way than with a mashup of hit songs (and not hit songs) from … everywhere … in the 1970s.
So yesterday I was looking through a stock image collection to find an appropriately smug woman to illustrate my post on the alleged secret plans of female supremacists to take away men’s rights. I went for a picture of a woman wearing a crown. But there were so many other choices! And they all seemed to involve women pointing at themselves.

Sorry for the recent lack of posts, but I’m on what I like to call a Migraine-cation. It’s sort of like a stay-cation in that one does not actually go anywhere, but in this case you don’t go anywhere and you also have a migraine.
