Robert Bowers, accused of murdering eleven in a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synogogue earlier today, reportedly had an account on Gab, the so-called “free speech” alternative to Twitter that has been completely overrun with Nazis and the Nazi-adjacent. Bowers used the account to spread vile anti-Semitic and racist propaganda — and, if this tweet is accurate, to hit on underage girls.

In June, former security guard Sheldon Bentley was convicted of manslaughter in an Edmonton, Canada, court for kicking a man to death while he lay unconscious in an alley. At his sentencing hearing yesterday, Bentley asked for leniency, submitting a presentence report saying that at the time of the killing he had been angry at the world and suffering from “involuntary celibacy.”

After a man identified by witnesses as a participant in a Madden video game tournament in Jacksonville, Florida opened fire on fellow gamers, killing several and wounding numerous others before turning his gun on himself, some of the regulars in the Kotaku in Action subreddit are directing their anger at one of their favorite targets — game journalists, who these Redditors are accusing in advance of blaming the shootings on violent video games and game culture.
