So I’m still all flu-ed up, but I thought I would share one amazing internet thingy that’s cheered me up a bit: It’s called edges2cats, and it transforms your drawings of cats into photorealistic-looking cats.

As you may have noticed, I like playing around with graphics software that allows you to create unique filters for images that are based on other images. I don’t quite understand how exactly it works, but the results can be pretty, well, interesting.

A big round of thanks to all those who helped to make the 4th Quarter 2016 pledge drive a big success. Some of you really went above and beyond the call of duty, and I appreciate it enormously.
2016 has been a monumentally shitty year (for everyone but the shittiest of people), and it looks likely that 2017 will be even worse. I will do my best with this little blog to make the coming year just a teensy bit less crappy

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: If you’re thoroughly sick of seeing Donald Trump’s orange mug plastered all over the internet, there’s a handy little Chrome extension that replaces Trump pics with adorable pics of kittens.
I’ve been testing it out a little and it works … some of the time. But when it does it’s kind of magical. Here’s what the front page of The Daily Beast’s politics section looked like to me when I visited there today:
