Men’s Rights Redditor: “The world was created by men and everything is run by men, and its not sexist, it’s by FEMALE CHOICE”

Someone is having a little tantrum, huh

Today, a lovely rant from a very angry dude on the Men’s RIghts subreddit. And the regulars there liked it so much they gave it 200 (net) upvotes.

So let’s see what Adddam31 had to say.

I’m tired of men getting verbally abused by feminists online or in person; modern women don’t realize how valuable men are to society.

Oh, this sounds like he’s going to go all “we hunted the mammoth to feed you” doesn’t it?

It’s always the kill all men and the we don’t need men we can reproduce with “bone marrow technology” …

What feminists are you even talking with, dude? Never mind the killing bit — which is honestly not part of the feminist agenda (unless I’ve missed a meeting or something). I’ve never even heard this about bone marrow. After roughly 30 seconds of Googling I saw that the research making these claims has been retracted. In any case it’s not like the feminists of the world are going to kill all men so they can try it out.

Or are they?

… which is funny because men need women to reproduce while women NEED MEN TO SURVIVE.

Why? Do the women eat them or something?

It’s because of modern conventions that feminists think they can survive without men. They have these delusions of being independent of men while waking up to their phone alarm, taking a warm shower and driving to work.

Damn those women and their misandrist hot water usage!

The world was created by men and everything is run by men, and its not sexist, it’s by FEMALE CHOICE.

Huh. Usually the MRAs say patriarchy isn’t real, But now it is and it’s all women’s fault? When were they given this FEMALE CHOICE?

I’m sick and tired of men getting disrespected by feminists. Men die at war to protect your freedom so you can speak your mind.

Is that what the long, pointless, terribly destructive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were all about? How exactly did either war protect our free speech?

Men risk their lives protecting the streets so you can be safe.

So you can be safe from OTHER MEN.

Men work dangerous jobs so that you can have running water, gas, heat, electricity, food and a roof over your heads.

No, men work those jobs because they often pay well. Women have been kept out of these sorts of jobs by men who want them all to themselves; the women who do manage to get work in, say, coal mines are treated to endless harassment and misogyny.

Also, when have any MRAs ever lifted a finger to try to make workplaces safer for men? And now many Men’s Rights Redditors actually work in any of these professions themselves? I’m guessing one big zero, which incidentally isn’t a bad description of the OP her, come to think of it .

Men gave rise to modern medicine so you don’t die from a flu, pharmacology so you can control your pregnancies, engineering so you can cross a continent in hours, physics so you can survive a high speed crash, architecture so you don’t get trapped under rubble, and math so you can use the supercomputer you have in your pocket right now. WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT MEN?? WHERE WOULD THE WORLD BE WITHOUT MEN?

What would we do without all the women who work in hospitals, who are out there saving lives every day?

Because even though we have one of the most egalitarian societies to date, women STILL avoid these jobs. Men deserve the ultimate respect.

Women don’t “avoid” these jobs because they’re, say, lazy. Historically, they haven’t been allowed to take those jobs. These days they aren’t racing to become, say, coal miners because of all the harassment that women doing these jobs get from the men who got there first and pulled up the ladder up after them.

While I was scrolling through reddit I saw this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/qerk7l/woman_on_twitter_claims_feminists_only_want/

I scoffed in anger.

He scoffed in anger.

Then he linked to another Men’s Right subreddit post about this meme:

Oh dear, that’s just going to make him madder.

Are feminists really that arrogant that they think they can nihilate [sic] men in WAR, especially a war that is fought with spears and swords? This post beautifully highlights the true underlying intentions of feminisms; it’s not about equality, its about revenge.

No, dude, it really is just about equality. Feminists may joke about revenge but they’re not going to cut your head–or anything else– off in your sleep. It’s just a meme, dude. I would have expected a manly man like you could survive looking at a meme.

Anyways, I just wanted to get this off my chest, since my family members and friends are very liberal. I’m really sick of this pointless gender war. I wanna hear your thoughts about male abuse in modern day society.

Oh, you’ll hear them. The Men’s Rights subreddit is filled with talk about “male abuse,” most of it entirely imaginary.

And remember, if a feminists comes up to you, arguing about how society doesn’t need men, she is probably on her period and using a tampon (brought to you by men).

Well, probably not literally. A lot of men get all squirmy if their girlfriend or wife asks them to pick up some tampons for them, as if the checkout clerk is going to think that they’re going to use the tampons themselves in some weird gay way

You’d think that ancestors of the men who CREATED THIS WORLD GRR ARGGH would be a little less sensitive about all this.

Even if all of that nonsense was true, it’s not like those men have done any of that heavy lifting themselves. They’re little more than vultures.

None of those men who were out there inventing physics and math would have created squat if they’d had to do their own cooking, cleaning, laundry, and childcare.

Not to mention all the literature/inventions/innovations made by women that were coopted by men.

On a daily level I live without men. All my best male friends have died either from AIDS or not being able to afford insulin or from cancer. I miss my guy friends but my life for the last five years has been pretty much only women.

I’m unsure where these dudes have come up with the idea that feminists hate men.

Probably cherry-picking from the most overzealous and most extreme examples of feminists they can find. (I’m tempted to say that Valerie Solanas is the first example that comes to mind, but to this day I still have no idea if the SCUM Manifesto is satirical, a byproduct of her schizophrenia, or completely serious.) I’m sure that some people like that exist and are as vocal as extremists tend to be, but as far as I know they’re not especially common and don’t work well with other feminists. Unsurprisingly, most of them are TERFS or sympathetic to them.

You could fill several volumes of a multi-volume history text with what this jackass doesn’t know about women’s contributions to every one of those fields he mentioned. Not to mention the unnamed prehistoric women who invented agriculture by saving seeds and planting them close to home instead of gathering — thus paving the way for urban civilization.

I rather doubt that this is the use Ada Lovelace and Hedy Lamarr had in mind for the technologies they pioneered.

Being TERFs is in practice giving up on trying to change society and misogynistic men by “throwing them away” with the ones that aren’t.

I’m unsure where these dudes have come up with the idea that feminists hate men.

I honestly suspect that the reason likely boils down to some kind of persecution complex born of projection: because this ilk is so immersed and insulated in their ideological reactionary pardaigm: the only rubric they understand of any kind of social movement is through “enforcing hierarchies of privilege and power” and “expressing a shared, mutual hatred of others and gaining a sense of belonging though that shared hatred”.

Because it’s what they do when they join these various reactionary movements that they do; so they think all left wingers operate under this praxis in the other direction,

Such an assertion is… deeply flawed, dubious and of course; nominally false.

@MV96:

Being TERFs is in practice giving up on trying to change society and misogynistic men by “throwing them away” with the ones that aren’t.

Not to mention at best dismissing and gaslighting an entire category of men in a position to understand misogyny because they’ve personally suffered it. And, on the other side of the coin, throwing away an entire category of ”men” who aren’t. And echoing the fundamentalist viewpoint that men are by nature predatory beasts (and that women are by nature prey.)

“she is probably on her period”

Really? Given how few days out of the month we’re “on our period” (generally speaking) she probably ISN’T, but I’m guessing this guy’s not big on math, nor understanding how female biology works.

It’s less of an idea, more of a feeling. When you’re consumed by hate*, you’re likely to believe that others are that way too.

*Not just hate for women, since misogynists almost always have other seething hatreds going on.

OT: here’s a story to keep an eye on. A knife-wielding guy dressed as the Joker has injured 17 people on a Tokyo train:

He’s quoted as being inspired by a knife attack in August. The August attacker was an incel.

WHERE WOULD THE WORLD BE WITHOUT MEN?

Sylvia of cartoon fame (Sylvia by Nicole Hollander) has given this some thought:

“No crime and a lot of fat, happy women.”

The world was created by men and everything is run by men

I wonder if some creationists wrote disagreements about this allegation ?

Anyway..
Women jokingly wanting to “kill” men : BAD !
Men looking at any small difference (physical or moral or spiritual) with other people to wage war against them : GOOD ! Or at least not worthy to complain about, which is almost the same.
With people like that, no wonder we are seen as narrow minded.

Aside from the fact that it’s simply not true, when these people say

The world was created by men and everything is run by men

how come, they always forgot to mention it’s also mostly created and run FOR men?

It’s interesting to me cause what regularly sends them into self pittying and rage is hand wringing and pearl clutching about the scraps that society provides to anyone that isn’t THEM.

Such a noble sacrifice, because men do not get to use any of these things. They sit outside in the dark, starving and getting rained on.

Due to a slight misunderstanding about whether a particular country pub had actually reopened; that was pretty much my halloween.

It’s true, feminists are only actually feminists for the 3-7 days a month they have their period. The rest of the time they’re simpering flowers who want men to pull out their chairs and order for them in restaurants. It’s why I stopped being a feminist when I had a hysterectomy and now think Ben Shapiro is the smartest man alive.
LOL none of that is remotely true.
@Buttercup Q. Skullpants
Your comment reminds me of Thoreau and how it’s usually left out of the conversation that while he was writing about the exaltation of self-reliance and living simply that became Walden, his mother and sister were doing his laundry and bringing him hot meals.

I know this is the least of all the things here, but…

and math so you can use the supercomputer you have in your pocket right now

Lol, a mathematician can’t make a supercomputer. It’s the work of years of research in applied materials sciences, thousands and thousands of people working in general concert to make the iterative idea in the first place, and thousands more to make the actual logistical product. As a shocking note, I know, women are part of those teams, both knowledge and manufacturing. Before the modern era, too! Imagine not knowing your history.

Aww, no, I’m sorry it was cold and wet. But at least it’s guaranteed safe from Covid! Silver linings!

@ big titty demon

It seemed appropriate as it meant passing under this bridge!

https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/haunted-bridge-cornwall-devil-possess-4620775

These days the Devil seems more interested in taking the roofs from transit vans that are over-reliant on sat-nav.

It was quite nice and atmospheric anyway though. It’s a lovely looking pub and it’s next to a pretty spot on the river.

It also made me nostalgic. In my youth we had a thing about climbing Pendle Hill on Halloween. That was usually rainy and miserable too. But nothing like climbing a muddy slope in clogs (the boys) or those spiky boots they wore in Bronte times (the girls) to have a disappointing firework display on top.

We’d usually be about half way up before someone pointed out that the key thing about the Pendle Witches is the they weren’t witches; so what have they to do with halloween?

Did you hold your breath as you went through, @Alan? 🙂

Sorry about the pub, though.

Hope all the Mammotheers who go in for halloweenish things had a good night, scary enough but not too scary.

And it’s turnips, not pumpkins (though I’ll admit to the clear structural advantages of the pumpkin)

I’ve seen that “men invented tampons cuz girls are dumb” thing before and it’s wrong, of course. Women have been using tampons since at least the days of ancient Egypt. A man patented tampons, continuing the long tradition of men taking credit for shit women did.
