My father passed away on Wednesday, some four months after the death of my mother.
Just wanted you all to know. I may be taking a few more days off from the blog.

So sorry!
I’m very sorry for your loss, David. Obviously, please take all the time you need away from the worst people on the internet and take care of yourself.
I’m so sorry David. My thoughts are with you. My sister passed away at the end of last year and I’m still reeling from it. Losing family members sucks.
Please take the time you need to get back on your feet.

Do what you need to do.
Terry Pratchett said “No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away.” (He’s hardly the only person to have made similar comments, but this has a certain pithiness to it.) As long as you remember him and the things he did, he will still be having an effect on the world.
I’m so sorry for your loss! Please know that we care about you and will be thinking of you in your time of trouble.
