The world’s saddest tweet?

From the world’s saddest tweeter?

So I was rummaging around on Twitter today and ran across this tweet. It’s not a new one, but it strikes me as rather exquisitely sad, so sad I really feel I need to share it with you all.

Make sure you watch the embedded video, though, to really appreciate what makes this tweet so sad.

HOW IS IT PATHETIC TO ENJOY CUDDLES WITH THE WORLD’S CUTEST FLUFFY CAT?

There’s a lot wrong with far-right attack journalist Ian Miles Cheong, but this tweet is just so silly and sad. DO YOU HATE JOY, IAN?

@ WWTH

Sending best wishes to your kitty. Hope she’s back on her paws very soon.

Kitty update. The anti-biotics are working. She’s still sneezing and her energy is only part of the way back, but she ate all her leftover food and emptied her water dish late last night and then ate all her breakfast this morning. And the huge swelling in her lymph node went most of the way down.

@WWTH: I’m glad your cat is feeling better. I hope she continues to improve.

Several years ago, I adopted a kitten (not the kitty in my avatar) who was being treated for an upper respiratory infection. My very old cat, Perry, caught it. I felt guilty about it. She got better after an antibiotic.

Cats have such powerful immune systems. Those respiratory infections must be fierce.

@Gatecrasher: I used to have a cat, Callie, who would greet me at the door when I came home from work. She did this up until the last 10 days or so of her life.

I almost feel sorry for people like this Cheong person. They miss out on so much in life. They’re in a prison of sorts, and they don’t even realize it.

Since my previous post is awaiting release from purdah – forgot the brackets bit –

That is really good news. Always a bit frightening as well as worrying when the furry friends get ill.

I’d prefer watching adorable cat videos to staring at Ian’s ugly mug.

I’m happy to hear your cat is doing better.

@ Everyone
In case you want to watch the video without starring at Ian’s face, you can watch it here.
