Saw this on another site and thought Mammotheers might appreciate it …

BREAKING: Iraq launches invasion to bring democracy to America

The nation of Iraq has today begun the first stages of a mission to bring peace and prosperity to the North American continent, after the nation deployed thousands of forces to stabilise the region in the wake of recent political and social unrest.

The rogue American state, which has been plagued by constant warfare for generations, has recently seen violent clashes breaking across the country between civilians and the military, relating to the oppression of ethnic minorities that live within its borders. Experts on the area state that relations between two rival factional groups, the clans known as ‘Reds’ and ‘Blues’ have recently broken down, leading to the complete circumvention of democratic processes by the current regime, which holds control over the country’s government despite wining a minority of votes at the last election.

The country is also rumoured to have stockpiles of many weapons banned by the United Nations, including various biological weapons and thousands of WMDs.

Representatives for Iraq’s government say that this is a joyous time for America’s people, who will finally be liberated from the horrors of their oppressive rulers. “No longer will your people be forced to work in factories for mere dollars a day, barely able to feed yourselves while those in power line their pockets,” declared Iraq’s President. “No longer will your minority groups have to fear being shot walking down the street, no longer will your children see daily gun violence when they should be learning in school. No longer will your impoverished masses be forced to go without food, or die of preventable disease because of inadequate medical care. No longer will entire cities be without clean drinking water. You are free now.”

Asked how long the reconstruction of America would take, Iraqi officials said that it is expected to last exactly as long as it takes for them to fleece all of America’s oil, at which point they will be left to fend for themselves.

Republicans in PA are now openly urging voters to commit fraud, possibly in the hope of tainting the count:

Local Republican officials were recruiting volunteers on Thursday to call Pennsylvania voters and urge them to send in their ballots—two full days after Election Day. This plea was emailed out just hours before President Donald Trump went on national television Thursday to declare the inherent illegitimacy of ballots received after Nov. 3.

The request, election lawyers say, appears to flagrantly run afoul of state law. Under Pennsylvania law and a recent state Supreme Court decision, absentee and mail-in ballots are valid as long as they were postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 6. Any Trump supporter who sends in their ballots either Thursday or Friday would not have it postmarked within the acceptable deadline—creating the precise situation that the president himself has deemed fraudulent and corrupt.

@Diego

Whelp, looks like the liberal “conservative outreach program” did not work.

And now the Lincoln Project has grifted enough money to permanently establish itself in the DC media scene and will probably spend the next few years (at least) shouting about “moderate conservatives” and how Democrats should appeal to/listen to them.

And already white liberals are crediting Biden for GA and AZ, completely ignoring the work put in by PoC activists in both states. Predictable but still frustrating.

@Ohlmann

The second one is that Biden have had a lot more vote, both in % and in total. So, if we follow your logic, his program of siphoning republican netted him more liberal vote ?

Biden had more vote because of increased turnout, not because he got votes from Republicans. As a percentage, more Republicans voted for Trump than in 2016 (93% vs 90% of registered Republican voters).

@Kobun37
I agree that ideally the GOP should go away and the Democratic Party should split, but that seems very unlikely right now.

As for domestic terrorist attacks, I do expect a number of attempts over the next few months; though given the lack of planning ability among Trump fans I’m not sure how many will be successful, but they will attempt them.

@David
To be fair, I think the main reason fewer Republicans are standing up for Trump isn’t that they disagree with him, but that they don’t want to do down with the ship. I still think we should be careful with them.

In other (good) news, Biden has taken the lead in Georgia and in the race for both Senate seats up for grabs there none of the candidates have reached over 50%. That means there will be a runoff election in January. If the Dems can capture those two seats it would put the Senate at 50/50 with Harris as the tie breaker.

I know it’s a long shot but wouldn’t it be amazing to watch Mitch squirm as all of his dreams of obstructing everything go up in smoke?

Biden has the lead in PA and Vox has projected him as winner of the national. Other outlets have yet to call it.

@Kobun37
It might be possible, but we’ll need to do all the right things for the next 2 months. I don’t really have much faith in the national Dem apparatus after Tuesday, so it will be down to grassroots activists.

Meanwhile, if anyone reading this is a citizen of Georgia, please check your voter registration and make sure you are registered by December 7.

Supposedly PA just waiting for one more tranche of ballots before calling Pennsylvania for Biden.

Wake up to Georgia as a pretty shade of pale blue on the map.
Finish lunch and look again, and Pennsylvania is the same pretty shade of blue.

Today’s not bad.

The FAA has declared Biden’s house a National Defence Airspace; so it look like as far as the military are concerned he’s won it.

Projection of 300 for Biden, 230 for Trump. So not so close in the end.

Sadly the same isn’t true for the two chambers. And I still don’t hold much hope that Biden will actually address gerrymandering and voter repression.

Aren’t those state level issues? Unfortunately the Republicans took a lot of the down ballot races so they will have control of redistricting in many areas again, which means gerrymandering is going to remain a problem.

Can Biden really do anything about them?

Ohlmann
Ohlmann

He can force the state to a basic level of decency on thoses issues, and he can fix the Trump-created issue of dozen after dozen politically engaged judge everywhere (not just in the supreme court).

That require a lot of effort from him and democrats, and probably things that the republicans will qualify as “court packing” and the like.

Well, the Senate confirms federal judges. That was a huge problem for Obama because Mitch was blocking any confirmations. Which was why Trump was able to seat so many of them. Mitch was deliberately holding them open and then stuffing courts with partisan hacks. I expect that situation to return unless the Dems can win those two seats in Georgia.

Biden can’t really do a lot about the courts unless the Dems win control of the Senate.

The senate block stuff mostly because democrat play too soft and gentle. They should not, but will continue to be soft.

Sure, if Biden resignate itself to do nothing, he will do nothing. If he use every ounce of constitutional power he have and force things through, he can do better. In particular, as Trump amply showed, the law is elastic. Sure, using that is “bad”, but it’s a lesser evil.

One minor point in the “Good” column for running President Elect Biden:

I’m putting money on the fact that Trump’s lot aren’t going to meet ANY of their responsibilities for transition, so it’s a good job the new guy actually knows how to do the job from day one.
It’s still going to be a damned mess, but a bit less so.

@ threp

Well, as there are still 170 government jobs the Trump administration never got round to filling, at least the new administration will have fewer offices to tidy up for the new people.

On Finnish Twitter, I saw this joke on the notion that most of US land area votes red:

https://twitter.com/SamiHanninen/status/1324450036793659393

Green color stands for Finnish Center Party, which is super popular in rural areas, while most people live in cities. On electoral maps by municipality, most of Finland traditionally shows up green, but it doesn’t mean much anything because our system isn’t first past the post and also doesn’t favor rural areas. Paavo Väyrynen is a longtime Center Party politician who has unsuccessfully ran for president several times.

Ivanka Trump has been touting herself on the New York art scene. Is she expecting to have a lot of free time soon or something?

@Naglfar:
Cue the repeat of the jokes about the number of actual books in the Presidential Library named after him…

(Granted, from what I’ve heard GW Bush wasn’t a horrible student, he just also wasn’t a particularly good one and obviously only got into Yale because he was a legacy admission: his father was an alumnus, and that got him past a lot of the usual requirements. Trump, on the other hand… Trump and reading barely belong in the same sentence unless there’s a negation in there.)

And already white liberals are crediting Biden for GA and AZ, completely ignoring the work put in by PoC activists in both states. Predictable but still frustrating.

There is a shit ton of work to be done rooting out racism(and sexism) in left spaces. Part of the problem is people confuse racism …. dismissive, dehumanizing controlling behaviors based on race or perceived race… with being a goose-stepping swastik.a tattooed Nazis.

Those people exist sure, but most of the every day offenders are actually liberal identified people who have a habit of:

– making assumptions about ethnicity based on skin tone

– falling either for the ‘magical minority who will make me feel woke” trope OR ‘here is a chance to show how sensitive to this underprivileged person’s struggle” trope. Neither of these treat a person as an individual, just a prop for White Wokeness

– Assuming any POC is the “help” and can be ignored

– speaking in a raised, authoritive or entitled voice, where there is no reason to do so

-talking over or interrupting POC, especially if they aren’t saying things that follow the “script”(magical minority, grateful downtrodden) or, God help them, act exactly like and expect to be treated like a white person (rights wise).

– gaslighting when they’re called on their bullshit, projecting behavior they started(like interupting), claiming x person is “sensitive” when rudeness is challenged.

– And this is the test… NEVER treating any white person like this.

– Usually will not do any of the above in the presence of any white person for maximum gaslighting points.
– sometimes claim… while pulling this crap… because of a POC grandparent or ancestor, they are 1/8th X and actually try to deny thier white privilege WHILE AT THE SAME TIME TALKING OVER PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY NOT WHITE.

– And of course claim credit for POC work

Challenge them on any of the above, and expect verbally abusive defensive rage. And they consider themselves progressive or woke.

Now, honestly ask yourselves how many POC you have known who drifted away from your circles (college,gaming,etc) for reasons never fully explained. I will bet in 85% of cases one of these factors was at play. Especially if, in spite of a “cloud of nebulous suspicions”, there are no credible criminal or abusive acts.

The fact is a broad swath of liberals are uncomfortable around POC but are too cowardly to admit it, leading them to act out and marginalized POC like this. They are more concerned about looking progressive, than acting it. And the rest are too naive, or gullible to notice, as well as being tricked by gaslighting.

There’s no one solution. Though, given the ease of which POC can be railroaded by LE, when you hear trash talk around a person with no criminal record,and the trashers have no plan beyond spreading trash
talk, your bullshit detector should
be going off.

There are threads on reddit (city/neighborhood threads) where POC talk about the white people they see everyday who won’t make normal eye contact or chitchat(no, they are not on the spectrum), who have BLM signs and banners all over
their houses.

It’s going to hurt people’s ego but
the racists are inside the house. Identifying as wonderful inclusive people does not prevent racist ..or sexist…behavior.

Yes, definitely. There is a ton of racism in liberal and leftist spaces that gets ignored because we write that off as a thing for conservatives. I live in Massachusetts, where there is a huge problem with racism, and most of the white liberals I know don’t seem to think it’s real because the state is blue, so racism must not be a thing here. The most segregated city in the country is Chicago, which is also one of the bluest. Or, if you call them out on being racist, they’ll insist they can’t be because they voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012 and supported Deval Patrick as governor. If progressives want to get anywhere, PoC voices, especially PoC from other marginalized groups (i.e. women, LGBTQ+ PoC, disabled PoC, neurodivergent PoC, etc).

And yes, a lot of this is relating to establishment Democrats/liberals but racism definitely exists further left as well. For instance, the extreme class reductionism of the Dirtbag Left.

Trump beat HRC by 306 votes to 232. The predictions now are that Biden could beat Trump by 306 votes to 232.

That seems pretty Karmic.

Also, Trump described that as a landslide; so I hope there’s a tweet out there someone can dig up at the relevant time
