Incels are truly dedicated to plumbing the depths of misogyny. Here’s an impressive rant from an incel who thinks it’s wrong to treat women as objects — because, in his mind, they’re worse than objects.

I get that this subject is close to your heart, but what you’re referring to was just a side note in the post. I’m sure most here don’t think there’s nothing wrong with the system, we’re just side-eyeing men thinking that having anything to do with their children’s welfare is too much to ask, which is not the case with the men you’re talking about.

Hey, I’m a 30-50 something white quiet nerd, and I’ve faced oppression. Of course, that oppression was always based on my autism, mental illness, or physical disability, and being white no doubt helped in dealing with it, but that still totally counts. That’s just science.
Given that alimony is granted in maybe 1 in 10 divorces these days, it’s rather extraordinary for one person to know three men who have high alimony payments.

I just said that there is some truth in what is being said not that it always is the case. Also this was before 2013, so before the alimony reform was being made.
@Masse_Mysteria I stated my gender as I feel that while many of us have come to discuss the reality that women face each day we have yet to catch up to do the same with men. I totally agree that statistically women are definitely more disadvantaged than the cis gender white male but I think that a concern or anxiety a man has about loosing his children when divorcing is something that we should also take seriously. If it is ignored it becomes a narrative used by incels and toxic men’s “rights” activists to fuel their hate. My best friend looked into the last activist group as he desperately searched for help (also financially) but was drowned with comments demeaning women in general and therefore he immediately left– Others might stay because they might not find support elsewhere.
If you look how many men’s shelters there are in the US or in my case Germany (there is 1) you quickly realise that we are just beginning to realise that men can be victims too by other men or by women… That sadly includes legal battles about their rights as a father.
Sexism can only be eradicated if we dismantle it from both sides or three- four+ if we also take the experience of transgender, agender … people into consideration, which we should.

That’s what you really mean by “can’t find support elsewhere” right? Someone somewhere is doing things that aren’t all about men and we can’t have that. Because men can find a lot of support in feminism for issues of not fitting into rigid gender roles. But only if they don’t charge into feminist spaces and try to take over and make oppression of women about them. If some men can’t manage that, it’s hardly our fault and coddling male entitlement is in no way going to change it.

There is no systematic sexism against men. There are aspects of life in which men may struggle (some men are abused or struggle with mental illness, etc), but there is no systematic effort to discriminate against men. We need to dismantle sexism against women because women face discrimination.
Saying that sexism needs to be attacked on “both sides” is basically equivalent to “all lives matter.” I don’t know if this was your intention, but what you’re saying seems to be downplaying how misogyny affects women in favor of changing focus towards men. I am all in favor of helping men, but feminism is about making the situation better for women primarily.
