Hey, look at my art! And share yours!

By David Futrelle

So, hey, look at my art! I mean, you see some of it already in the form of the graphics I do for the blog. But I also like making more abstract digital art. (I’m currently in a sort of polka-dot phase.)

Today I’d like to take a break from the regular posts and show you some recent creations. And give you a chance to share some of your art as well. So post pics and share links below!

Also … I’m thinking of turning this into a little side hustle. I’ll probably start out selling postcards and greeting cards and phone cases and the like, but ultimately I also want to turn some of these into larger prints and works on canvas or wood embellished with paint and nice thick glazes and possibly some collage elements. Let me know if this stuff looks like the sort of thing you or someone else might be interested in buying.

And if you have any suggestions on how best to go about selling digital (and non-digital) art — and what sites/services to use — let me and everyone else know about them!

Send tips to dfutrelle at gmail dot com.

We Hunted the Mammoth relies entirely on readers like you for its survival. If you appreciate our work, please send a few bucks our way! Thanks!ļ»æ

I just realize I posted an unfinished version in which I hadn’t properly shaded the tree.

This was the final version.

Happy IWD to all of you, and hopefully Trump gets kicked out of office!

Happy IWD!

The IWD is now over 100 years old and the fight for equality still isn’t over.

also a digital doodle of mine

epitome of incomprehensibility

My favourite is the third one! I, too, like the idea of turning them into fabric prints for clothes.

And it’d be fun to see fractal-inspired fabric prints (I thought of this when looking at Paul’s work). Guess the infinite zoom-in part wouldn’t work, though šŸ˜›

Also, people’s drawings and fanfiction are cool! I have a fanfiction.net account from years ago under the name Nova Sinfonia. It’s kind of silly – like, Trillian from Hitchhiker’s Guide writes a poem about counterpoint; Alex from A Clockwork Orange goes to music college but people get revenge on him (he deserves it).

Lately I’ve been thinking of maybe going back and writing an Anne of Green Gables story, since I just got The Blythes Are Quoted and am re-reading Rilla of Ingleside. The premise: Gilbert has just died, Anne is a grandmother, the world is on the cusp of another war. And then she meets the son of a past sort-of enemy…

@Psiana

It’s a shame the country that started the holiday (which still observes it to this day) now has outright fascistic views on women.

@rv97: What country? The date was settled on at the International Working Womans Conference in the Peoples House in Copenhagen in 1910…
