A Scottish PUA who calls himself Addy A-Game — real name Adnan Ahmed — has been sentenced to two years behind bars for threatening and harassing behavior towards women while he tried to pick them up on the streets of Glasgow.
“Addy,” 38, is best known for filming his unfortunate targets as he approached them and putting the videos up on YouTube. He was arrested earlier this year after he and his, er, seduction techniques were featured on the BBC.
Some of his more sophisticated techniques included “following girls less than half his age down isolated lanes” and “grabbing women and trying to kiss them,” according to testimony at his trial. He also posted videos about how to overcome so-called “last minute resistance” to sex.
More details here.

I never really trusted the platform or policy of Conservative’s in any country, but the stuff pulled in the Harper Government has assured and affirmed to me that anyone who votes Conservative’s, anywhere, is either a fool easily suckered into going against their own self interest and the interests of the whole or genuinely, willfully malevolent people who get off to hurting anyone as much as possible who “isn’t them”, even if it hurts themselves in the process.
It’s one of the reasons why I vote NDP; they actually have a good track record for actually trying to help the common person and everyone as a whole,wither or not they actually succeed in doing so.
I’m just very worried I won’t be able to read out my vows and won’t have enough energy to dance and enjoy myself. We’ve been planning this for a while and both of us failed to take into account the fact that people get sick when they travel over seas.
Katamount: in South Baffin where she lives, the q at the end is silent (you must pronounce it but it’s pronounced by making no sound). The q elsewhere in the word is like the German kh.
But she’s originally from Baker Lake, so I’m not sure how she pronounces her name.
I think the resurgence of fascist groups worldwide has done a lot to put into serious question the idea that if only more countries adopted proportional representation, everything would be solved. I still think FPTP needs to go and that any of the versions of PR would be a step up, but in the long run I think there’s something fundamentally wrong with parliamentary democracy. I’m not sure this is even that controversial of an opinion, even if you ignore the right-wingers and authoritarians. I mean, it’s bad enough that the Conservatives would have held the most seats, but that’s not really that bad compared to the PPC having seats at all. And this parallels what we see in Europe.
What I remember of civics class is that it was a good way to learn about how the system works, and did a good job of justifying the idea of democracy (particularly, that it’s not just about “rulers” who happen to be elected for terms of various length), but kind of did a crappy job of justifying the system itself. It didn’t seem like even the teacher was really fully convinced.
What about eliminating the whole job description “professional politician” by replacing election with selection. Something akin to jury duty: any adult citizen may be called upon to serve in Parliament/Congress for four years. Random selection by SSN, with the drawing subject to citizen observation (or even televised). The lottery industry has already built the random number generators that could be used for this … those things with the numbered ping-pong balls. Supposed to be very hard to rig, as long as the balls can be inspected for weight beforehand.

One of Extinction Rebellion’s demands is the use of a Citizens’ Assembly to look at climate change solutions.
Citizens’ Assemblies have been used successfully; such as in Ireland:
https://www.citizensassembly.ie/en/
I believe the French government is also considering their use.
@an impish pepper
Churchill had his faults, but I agree with him about democracy.
It’s a terrible system with terrible flaws. It’s just that every other system ever tried is much worse.
Sheila Crosby, impish,
I like the statement that democracy is a target but it actually never was achieved yet. But we improve because we try to achieve it. For me I think I like anarcho communism but it is even more difficult to achieve this than democracy.
@Valya
One could argue that acheiving the one automatically means achieving the other, so there’s that.
@Dali,
Anarcho communism has apparently been achieved before in Spain and in in Ukraine too before the Russian revolution, but I think the problem is that it only works for a small community. For it to work for a large population is quite unlikely. I think it is more likely that democracy will work for a larger population, which could be collective anarchism, because that includes that wealth and markets and money can still exist.
An Impish Pepper: if a half-dozen racists can scare you into allowing the conservatives to win a majority with as little as 37% of the vote, then you’re granting the racists a huge amount of political power.
The current system not only means that the Greens and NDP generally get far fewer seats than their declared preference among Canadians, but also that Canadians who would vote for them will instead vote for Liberals.
Even normally intelligent Canadians, who want to vote Green or NDP, and live in a riding that’s definitely not Conservative, go on and on about how important it is to vote “strategically” meaning Liberal.
@numerobis
I agree with you because, again, I consider PR preferable to FPTP. My point was just that it doesn’t seem like enough of a step to stamp out the threat of the far-right.
PUA is for Gamma males (including Beta Orbiters) that have no game naturally and have fragile egos. Modern Alphas, their supporting counterpart Betas; plus Sigmas, Deltas etc realise.
In this is age, in western countries, you are a fool if you either don’t go MGTOW or only accept sex if you can document every step of her advances upon you. If you wan’t to carry on living like a human being you must move somewhere like Russia, Japan or anywhere else that has morals coupled with conservatism.
MGTOW
You know the whole Alpha Beta is thing is disproven nonsense but bringing in “Sigmas and Deltas” is impressive because it makes you look even more foolish, A feat I didn’t think was possible.
MGTOW,
Oh, MRAL, you can and have done better than this
Hi mgtow, good satire. What about theta males and omicron females?
And the tape of your encounters could go to the police or to porn, if there’s some interesting action.
“Morals coupled with conservatism” sounds to me like “oil coupled with water”.
@Ingmar
Don’t forget the omicron males and females!
@Moggie
Well, you can get oil and water to mix if you add soap. You can’t get morals and conservatism to mix no matter what you do.
What’s with all the trolls these days? Did someone link us in r/TRP or somewhere similar?
I find anarcho-communist arguments very unpersuasive. Once they acknowledge that it requires a society of small, self-sufficient communities, I have to ask:
How do we turn our industrialized, city-based society into that?
What happens to the people who can’t be supported within such a community? How ill we maintain or improve our level of science and technology? How does a “self-sufficient” village of 5,000 people provide dialysis or chemotherapy?
The answer has always been either that they did not think about that, or something-something trade networks that fly in the face of their basic premise.
I want to create a more just, equal society. But I want to find a plan that could actually be brought into action and will help everybody, including those who would die without a large, high-tech support system.
I think maybe he’s talking about deviations from the mean and changes in a variable. It makes some sense given how conservatism is rooted in fear of deviations and change.
I can’t keep all the Greek letters straight anymore. What’s the dividing line between a theta and an eta? Exactly how fast will civilization decline if an upsilon marries an iota? What about Japanese, Cyrillic, and Unicode characters, where do they fall in the hierarchy?
If you feel the need to lawyer up before having sex, then that’s pretty much a confession your sexual activities are criminal.
Consent isn’t complicated, but you’ve chosen to make it seem that way in order to punish women for having preferences and opinions about sex. You don’t want to check in with your partners because you don’t want to hear “no”. That makes you a rapist.
Is this short for wannot?
@An Impish Pepper
I doubt that there is any one step that can stamp out the threat of the far right. But there are several smaller ones that can be taken to minimize the risk.

@Moggie, pitch-perfect! 🙂 🙂 🙂
@opposablethumbs, I should credit the source. It’s someone called Yoshi, who appears to have a bunch of JP merch. See Etsy and Redbubble. I don’t know whether they’re a true believer, or just making money from the lobsterkin.
