Well, this little joke went over well on Twitter so I thought I’d post it here too.

Here’s one that didn’t go over quite as well. But it might just come to haunt your dreams.

Some good-ass tweets by people who aren’t me:

London Pilgrim’s worldview is incredibly easy to understand once you boil it down to: “anything external that might possibly encourage men to do something outside of their base desires is BAD AND WRONG AND MANIPULATIVE. Anything external that might possibly encourage women to do something “traditional” is 100% natural and normal and good.”

See:
-disapproving of Jordan Peterson is somehow not letting other people read his work!
-“enforced monogamy” is something that will make women happier and totally doesn’t involve any kind of coercion!
-Leftists cruelly expect men to be married and faithful 100% of the time and expect nothing from women!
-It’s totally reasonable for society to shame women who sleep with tons of dudes because it’s easy for women! Society admires dudes who sleep with tons of women because it is a rare and difficult feat!
-Women expecting men to perform their fair share of emotional labor is awful and is putting undue stress on the poor, simple men!
-Getting rid of feminism and removing those awful ideas that women should be able to choose to be with men who satisfy them is something that no one would even notice and would definitely make society better!

@London Pilgrim

I never said I required this ’emotional labour’ from you. You acknowledge this and then say I am not entitled to it.

If you don’t want it, why are you bothered about whether women want to give it to you or not? You’re going around in circles.

You also believe the TV adverts and assume I can neither cook nor iron.

Well, it’s a pretty fair assumption to make of someone who spends the entire thread arguing to restore traditional gender roles and making nasty transphobic cracks. Heck, you recoil with digust at the very idea of a young boy wanting to wear leggings with pink hearts. I could easily see you turning your nose up at ironing and other “womanly” chores.

(Speaking of assumptions, you’ve just assumed I watch television.)

Even in 1950 most men could do this- you seem to be a couple of centuries behind the rest of us.

A couple of centuries behind someone who pines for Victorian marriage, talks about the fall of Rome, and cites 1980s women’s magazines as his go-to source? If I lagged much further back than that, I’d be doing the backstroke through the primordial soup.

I have always found that behind every feminist is someone who does not understand industrial civilization- as if it were a choice between ideological feminism and the 17th century.

I’m genuinely baffled by what you’re trying to say here. There’s too much manure and too little pony.

Back across the Aegean with you, coward. I hope your failure sticks like a burr in the back of your brain. Not failing to convince us – you no doubt believe we’re impossible of being convinced. No, I hope that your failure to face yourself burns into your heart and eats you up inside.

You’re your own greatest foe.

The thing that gets me most from the most recent set of exchanges is that London Pilgrim sees (& is angered by) the fact the ads/mainstream media portray terrible stereotypes of men, but is certain that the media portrayals of women are totally accurate.

I’m not sure how banning works here – if he can still see posts, but if he can I just want to also state that I think he’s living on entirely different planet with his claims that men serve women & women do nothing. I’m surprised more people didn’t call him on completely reversing reality.

His gish gallop made it difficult to address much because there was just so much wrong.

@Yutolia:

And seriously, this idea that people on the left are saying that men should be required to marry but women shouldn’t? I want a source for this, because I think this came from your mind and your mind alone.

His mind?

I don’t think that’s the part of his anatomy it came from.

Yay @David wielding the ban hammer!

*Jumps for joy*.

Just to note I am not the kind of person who calls for a ban, especially not for somebody merely having different beliefs to my own. I’m an adult, I can take it.

But London was just trolling. And not even well. Jumping all over the place, lying, making up all kinds of outlandish claims and insisting you address “questions” aimes beliefs he claimed you had.

I had to just go away so it was rather pleasing to come back to this.

🙂 🙂

I’m pretty sure LP/RF was either going for lulz or trying to get someone here to say something he could spin on some MRA or alt-right site.

He was never here in good faith, and everything he said was either a lie, an attack, or a whine.

@Surplus: true, although I could make the case that since this one’s head is clearly up his ass that it’s all coming from the same place.

Your thought here reminded me of something I read the other day, has to do with people overestimating the amount of sex others are having. Particularly men’s guesses at young women and sex.
