[UPDATED with name of shooter]
By David Futrelle
Last night, a young man opened fire on people enjoying a night out in Toronto’s Greektown neighborhood. Numerous people were hit; two of his victims died — an 18-year-old woman and a 10-ear-old girl.
The shooter, identified as 29-year-old Toronto resident Faisal Hussain, was found dead shortly after a gunfight with police; it’s not clear if he was killed by the police or if he took his own life.
As of yet, we don’t knowĀ the shooter’s motive, but given his choice of targets — people out socializing on a summer night in a neighborhood known for its many restaurants — it’s hard not to wonder if he was inspired by the incel van attack that killed ten pedestrians and injured many more on a busy street in Toronto in April.
On the Incels.me message board — where many have made heroes of incel mass killers like Elliot Rodger and the Toronto van killer — some of the regulars are openly celebrating the shooting, with some taking special pleasure in the death of the ten-year-old girl.
Someone called /pol/cel, with more than 1499 comments to his name on the site, kicked off the celebration by declaring how glad he was that the shooting took place in Toronto:
“IT” is a reference to the IncelTears subreddit. devoted to mocking incels.
After one commenter took offense at /pol/cel’s glee over the murders, prolific Incels.me commenter Getlooksordie took the discussion into an even darker direction:
And things got worse from there, with much of the rest of the discussion centered around the alleged crimes-against-inceldom committed by the murdered “8 year old girl” (who was actually ten).
Somehow the discussion managed to get even more grotesque.
While a few commenters pushed back against the celebration of the murders, or simply dismissed their comments as the work of “edge lords,” the regulars who weren’t giddily joking about the murdered ten-year-old were much more worked up about one commenter who referred to the shooting as taking place in “America.”
These are men who insist they are “involuntarily celibate” — yet who are choosing of their own volition to be such utterly reprehensible human beings that no decent person of any gender would want to have anything to do with them.
They’re “involuntarily celibate” except for the ones that brag about having had sex or raping women. They have gone from creepy to downright scary and dangerous.
But, as I’m sure you know, they’re nothing new. It’s only them lately getting mass media press that makes them a better-known topic.
They did this after the Manchester concert bombing. I can’t say more without violating the comments policy; suffice it to say, I despise them.
If there are any Incel lurkers I invite you to try and justify why you identify with this movement. I’m in that sort of a mood.
And these sad bastards think it’s their appearance that them from having girlfriends.
Isn’t there a barren planet we can ship them off to?
I can’t even with this. I’m sure most of them are just winding each other up, trying to see who can say the most outrageous thing. But not all of them, not all.
One drove a van through a crowded street just a little while ago, after all.
I’m wondering if this shooter will turn out to be steeped in this online bullshit as well…
That’s so horrible that I prefer to concentrate on the mental image of a 10-eared girl than thinking about what can make people say shit like that.
(there is/were a typo from year to ear in the article)
@Tovius
I believe there’s still an international treaty in effect that would prevent us from shipping trash to the Moon, and arguably that would apply planets as well.
Yes, BlackOps, they do definitely think they are funny. But they also fuckin mean it, so… If you don’t wanna be out here enabling that shit, ball’s in your court, champ
How does someone become so addicted to this kind of transgression?
(Bullshit narratives about how the world made them that way aside)
I get that like Rhuu said, some are just ignorant fucks winding each other up but I think this might be the first time I’ve seen them direct their bile directly at an individual child (not just the abstract concept of female humans at any age).
What would it take to bring home the wretchedness of what they are saying?
The barrel scraping is loud with this one new lows reached daily.
I just hope hope hope that no one who knew the victims ever sees any of this.
Schrƶdinger’s Edgelord: They mean it right up until they’re called on it, and then it’s a joke/ free speech issue
There are times when I wish I hadn’t been convinced (by folks on this board, who were correct then and are now) that Doxing, if allowed, becomes a tool more used against the vulnerable than the shitlords. Because if there’s anyone who deserves to have their co-workers and family members learn the truth about them, it’s these scum.
It’s absolutely stunning how steeped in hate these guys are – that they make up tales about a murdered little girl to justify their hatred of women. It’s amazing that they whine about not being able to get a woman when they clearly hate women through and through. I’ve read this blog for years now but it still startles me.
@Freemage – yeah, I gotta be honest. I’m generally not too miffed when one of this sort’s life is turned upside down by public shaming. It’s akin to my being completely opposed to capital punishment but not being overly upset when the likes of Jeffrey Dahmer buys it in the yard.
It is terrible that the people of Toronto are losing innocent lives to Incel terrorists.
I can’t wait to hear how Jordan Peterson will justify them.
It does nicely show the contrast between Canada and the US in one way, though. John Tory (the Toronto mayor) may be an idiot, but his almost immediate reaction was “It’s too easy to get a gun in Toronto, we should do something about that.” Meanwhile, in the States, it’s about to be legal to print your own gun at home.
@Tovius
We could always send them to Snake Island. The MGTOWs and TERFs could join them, too!
*vomits*
Oh bollocks to even trying to make sense of these people. I second Alan – come out, lurkers, and defend this as a point of view. I’d like to hear you explain exactly how the death of a child is cause for celebration.
Come on now. I don’t have all day.
No?
Didn’t think so. You’re full of shit, you cowards, and you know it.
We Chicagoans here offer our support to our neighbors in Toronto.
And we shouldn’t have to, this ridiculous violence should not be spreading š
Single mothers ..
OK, I’m in a pretty hot mood too, from dealing with my recently passed mom’s paperwork. Which I shouldn’t gripe about because she left me a nice amount of money. Which she worked for and chose good investments. My father? Never paid chid support nor bothered with us at all.
And while we had to “live cheap”, because my father didn’t pay child support, oh and we had to take of my grandma too, my mom always found enough money to take us on vacations, one of which was to Toronto š I remember this trip and the “Toronto Islands”. It was a very nice trip and a fond memory š
I can’t say ‘I get so mad’ when these manurespherians talk about single moms, it’s more like upset and disillusioned.
Do they not know of how many “dads” took off? Not to mention how hard single moms have to work?
My mom worked very hard, and even in the leaner years managed to scrounge up enough money to take us on a vacation to places nearby.
And she retired as VP at the company she worked for.
^ A FU to these guys, on behalf of my mom š
Well that’s my daily dose of vitamin murderous anger. If I had a time machine I would go back and give their parents contraceptives.
What even the fuck. š No, I can’t make sense of this. At all.
@Nym
Their idea of “normal” is being shaped by a community where status is based on runaway virtue signaling. Except the community has purged itself of all virtues besides “we are worthless trash” and “lol triggered top kek”.
