Nazis and deplorables have a new crush: mass murderer Dylann Roof’s kid sister

Morgan Roof: A new Aryan Goddess for the alt-right?

By David Futrelle

Andrew Anglin, professional Nazi troll and founder of The Daily Stormer, generally does not have a lot of nice things to say about women, not even white ones. This is a guy who once described women as “disgusting sex perverts” whose “entire existence … revolves around sexual derangement.” This is a guy who hailed Vladimir Putin’s move to decriminalize “slapping hoes [and] bitches,” declaring that “[j]ust as it is axiomatic that Jews belong in the oven, so is it that women deserve to be slapped.”

But he’s willing to make a few exceptions to his “all women are terrible” stance. He’s a big fan of “Aryan Goddess” Taylor Swift. And he wants the United States to put Eva Braun on the $10 bill.

Now he has a new crush: the 18-year-old kid sister of Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof.

Morgan Roof is in the news after being arrested yesterday for allegedly bringing a knife, pepper spray, and marijuana to school. School officials were also alarmed by a message she posted on Snapchat expressing her hope that the students walking out yesterday to protest gun violence would end up dead. “I hope it’s a trap and y’all get shot,” she wrote, “we know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway.”

Anglin’s reaction? “I’m in love.”

In a post on the Daily Stormer today, Anglin hailed the young lass as “HAWT” and begged her to get in touch with him.

“How hilarious would it be if I dated Dylann Roof’s sister?” he wrote.

Can you even imagine? I think the entire staff of the SPLC would have heart attacks simultaneously.

Addressing Miss Roof directly, he declared:

Just so you understand, I am not simply a heavily accomplished genius and a key influence on your brother’s writing … I am also an extremely handsome man in peak physical condition.

Anglin went on to admit that he was sort of joking about all this. Or maybe not. “I have a sort-of gf right now,” he confessed,  “and I live in Nigeria so the dating part is a joke (mostly), but we should be friends for sure.” (Note: He doesn’t actually live in Nigeria. He’s a troll.)

On Gab. Anglin posted a picture of the two of them as the happy parents of a small horde of miniature Dylann Roofs.

Turns out that Anglin isn’t the only alt-right shitlord who is smitten by the young Miss Roof. On Twitter, assorted shitposters — some predictably sporting Pepe avatars and vaguely anti-Semitic handles — are openly declaring their love, or at least their lust, for this new Aryan Goddess.

https://twitter.com/goblinfilth/status/974105910221172736

One imagined a utopian future with Miss Roof that looked pretty much identical to Anglin’s Aryan wet dream:

https://twitter.com/Crisprtek/status/974306387353329664

Another posed this elemental question:

https://twitter.com/SweatyAnimeMom/status/974133375689621504

On Gab — that sort-of Twitter clone for people who’ve been kicked off Twitter for being racist assholes — Morgan’s fans were equally enthusiastic, with many of them seriously hoping she could be recruited to the alt-right.

But not everyone in the far-right fever swamps is a Morgan fan. Some are unconvinced she has sufficient moral purity to become a true icon of the right.

Others smelled a rat.

While I think we can safely dismiss this last theory, there is one big question overhanging all this: Does the young women being nominated to be “the Eva Braun of the New Reich” actually have any interest in the position? We don’t actually know what exactly she thinks about the alt-right, or about much of anything.

Yes, she’s the younger sister of a racist killer who was clearly motivated in part by alt-right ideology. Yes, that thing she posted on Snapchat was arguably more than a little racist. But that doesn’t mean she’s a full-blown Nazi ready to be Andrew Anglin’s symbolic, much less literal, bride.

Not that this is likely to dissuade her new fans. Neo-Nazis went on celebrating Taylor Swift as their own personal Aryan Goddess long after she made it known that she’d really rather they didn’t. One thing, though, is abundantly clear:

https://twitter.com/Crisprtek/status/974293310205444096

Brace yourself. The memes are coming, and they will be ugly.

Soooo… taking the time to Photoshop your face next to that of a complete stranger and put that of her spree-killer brother over those of your “children”….

I think I’m gonna let Dr. Evil say what I’m thinking:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f_fQ38ayxs

…then start reaching for the “drop into Lego pit” button.

I’m just gonna go out on a limb and assume that none of us ever heard of Morgan Roof before yesterday. Now, she didn’t have to post what she said on Snapchat. In fact, given who she was, she could have even tried to channel her efforts into something positive, as Dylan Klebold’s mother Sue has attempted to do in recent years. Granted, as a teenager having to live under that shadow, it’s completely understandable if she wanted to just live her life away from cameras and headlines. But instead, she had to make that post and do these things and now I know her name for some unholy reason.

I made a point to watch Mad Max: Fury Road last night, because of all the films I’ve seen, that was really the first I saw that satirized the “attention as currency” concept that has gripped the zeitgeist in the wake of social media. In fact, upon rewatch I noticed that during Max’s initial foiled escape attempt at the start of the film, as he’s dangling by his bonds on the hook, one of the War Boys leaps after him and tries to hold onto his legs, only to loose his grip and fall, but as he’s falling he’s yelling “WITNEEEEESSS!” We would go on to see the significance of “Witness me!” and “Mediocre!” as its antonym later in the film, but they’re already establishing the War Boy culture of attention as currency in the opening minutes of the film… and the worst thing you can do is blend in to the crowd with mediocrity.

I just wonder when we hit critical mass on this. Or can we? It was bad enough when that Logan Paul guy was gawking at dead people. Now a woman is going to jail for thinking a book would stop a .50 pistol round, all for a YouTube gag. I don’t know where this is going to go, but it’s not going to be pretty….

Oh yeah, and Tucker Carlson has a sad that humanity’s collective underarm odour was banned from the UK.

Great, now Lauren Southern is going to spend more time here in Canada! >:( Although… several of the Queen Elizabeth Islands remain uninhabited… I’m sure the muskox wouldn’t mind a few of Canada’s worst humans as neighbours provided they were disarmed. Aw wait, mobility rights and all. Damn you, Canadian Constitution! *shakes fist*

The Lauren Southern thing was hilariously ironic; especially the “does the UK not allow conservatives?” tweet. Yeah, the government that banned you has ‘Conservative’ in its name. Anyway, aren’t you the one who says countries should be more selective in their border control?

(We should have got Theresa May to ward her off with a hosepipe)

Welcome! YAY!!! Got to welcome someone!!! 🙂

First off – nicely done. You protested – put yourself out there and demanded to be counted. Takes guts, that. Be proud of it!

The formating quotes thing is easy. Copy the text you want to quote, paste it in to the reply box, highlight it and hit the Blockquote button. That inserts the tags for you.

@Kay A. Ziraphale, welcome! You’re my hero! You did the walkout in the face of that sort of awful, thoughtless hate. That takes a lot of courage. No hyperbole! You might think that it just felt like a walk in the middle of the day, but it was much more than that. You did good, and you’re doin’ well.

The people who are shouty and are telling you how awful you are for doing it are experiencing a lot of social pressure to do that. Their “team” has said on TV and media that the walkout is bad, and they feel pressure to conform to that – enough pressure that they probably do actually believe it. You’re resilient enough to stay out of that clique and stand against it. That’s difficult!

What historically happens is that they’ll get louder and louder (and smaller and smaller) until finally there aren’t enough of them, and then they’ll collapse, and then all of a sudden you were right, you were always right, and they’ve never disagreed. Because those old beliefs aren’t socially acceptable anymore. Keep it up, eventually the world will change and they’ll swallow their hate. You can do it!

Quoting can be done one of two ways. First is the easiest – copy and paste the quote text in, highlight it, and then press the “quote” button. You’ll see that the editor adds blockquote tags to your text. You can also type those tags manually if you prefer!

Thanks for posting, and for marching. Welcome!

I’m in total awe at how fantastic you and your compatriots are; you’re so brave. You’re an inspiration to us all. I hope you get the results you deserve.

At the risk though of telling you what to do (and I really do think ‘adults’ need to butt out of this one) please don’t let your grades suffer. I’m sure there’s a way of making your voices heard and continuing the protests that doesn’t compromise that. People will (and indeed are) trying to throw obstacles in your path, and making all sorts of dire warnings; but that’s because you’ve got them rattled; take encouragement from that!

Nil carborundum!!!

@Kay, self care is important too. Don’t abandon your schooling, but don’t abandon your protests either! Find a good balance. You don’t have to do every protest thing you can find – it’s totally acceptable to say, like “If I don’t pass this test I’ll flunk this course, so I’m a stay in”. Make signs for other people to carry if you can’t go yourself.

You’re doin’ good, though! Keep it up!

First part, good. 🙂

Second part … best way to protest idiotic policies is to take over and then remove them. Need a good education for that. Comes in handy for smacking down idiotic people, too. 😛

And, multininja’d! 😛

Welcome to WHTM. I would like to echo what Scildfreja said.

I’m a few years older than you, and let me tell you: don’t let your elders disconcert you. They will doubtless (if they have not already) try to pressure you so that your opinions match theirs, and it is easy to capitulate to them, given that they have greater power than you. We are the rising generation, and as such, it is our right and our duty to improve the world, our elders’ protestations notwithstanding. Learn from them, and then surpass them.

The Lauren Southern thing was hilariously ironic; especially the “does the UK not allow conservatives?” tweet.

Oh that tweet was ironic on multiple levels. Setting aside the whole “I’m the victim” thing when she rails against “victim mentality/identity politics” all the time, it cannot be ignored that she just conflated her brand of cruel racism (the kind that has you taking pot shots at migrant ships) with “conservatism.” In her mind, this is what a conservative is. Now, she’s correct, but you’re supposed to keep that on the QT in polite society and pretend to be for the common man and all that jazz. Coming straight out and saying “I’m just a regular ol’ conservative, Y U NO LYK?” is the kind of thing people notice after all your hi-jinks, Lauren.

And as Dick Coughlan has pointed out, the UK Tories have drifted so far right that they’ve all but adopted the old 2011 UK Independence Party (UKIP) manifesto, which was the old 2005 British National Party (BNP) manifesto. And Southern was too extreme for them!

Ah well, she’ll fit right in with the Canadian Tories at the rate they’re going….

h/t GamerGhazi for this article from Current Affairs breaking down the blight on academia that is Jordan Peterson.

It’s a long read, but it really takes its time to cut to the heart of why Peterson is so odious and at the same time, so popular. Being a University of Toronto alumnus, I take Peterson’s prominence personally, as he’s bringing down the school’s reputation by being its most prominent “intellectual.” U of T boasts among its alumni four Prime Ministers and three Governors General of Canada, including Julie Payette, who earned her Masters in the Engineering faculty I graduated from in ’07… and this clown is its new public face? Nope, not having any of that.

Disgusting. What she is doing amounts not only to premeditated murder but potential genocide. But I’m sure she will continue to get a pass for her blatant criminal behavior because she’s a White woman and a conservative to top it off.

@Kay

Welcome! Congratulations on standing up for yourself and your peers. Don’t mind conservatives, they hate it when you challenge their authority and they’ll be pissed at you no matter what you do. So might as well be for standing up for what is right.

@Katamount: The money quote from the Current Affairs piece, at least for my own personal money, is… well, on rereading, it turns out to be less a single “money quote” than a recurring point on Robinson’s part:

A more important reason why Peterson is “misinterpreted” is that he is so consistently vague and vacillating that it’s impossible to tell what he is “actually saying.” […]

Nobody can be sure they are comprehending the author’s meaning, which has the effect of making the reader feel deeply inferior and in awe of the writer’s towering knowledge, knowledge that must exist on a level so much higher than that of ordinary mortals that we are incapable of even beginning to appreciate it.

(Old-time bloggers, faces beaten by gray PNAC weather, may remember the Medium Lobster from Fafblog, which would explain that it only appeared, to our limited human perceptions, to be a not-too-large, not-too-small edible arthropod. It was actually a vastly hyperintelligent pan-dimensional being, exactly like a mouse but completely different, seeing our three-dimensional universe from a truly omniscient perspective and occasionally deigning to slop a pearl of wisdom to us, its obvious inferiors. In other words, it was David Fucking Brooks.)

The multiplicity of possible interpretations is very important. It makes it almost impossible to beat Peterson in an argument, because every time one attempts to force him to defend a proposition, he can insist he means something else. […] Peterson makes ominous-sounding (and seemingly false) generalizations and yet builds in caveats so that nobody can accuse him of endorsing the thing it sounds like he’s endorsing.

I’m trying to think of a right-wing pundit whose name could not be substituted for Peterson’s in that last sentence, or in the one I quoted before it, the way the staff of The Onion just swaps out place names every time they feel the call to rerun their “No Way To Prevent This,” Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens article. I’m drawing a blank.

How many regular working class whites you know isolate themselves from people of colour? Now, how many upper middle class types? Who’s more likely to call the cops on some guy walking while black at night – a delivery driver or a day trader?

Or look at the Nazis we are mocking here – not a working class or a poor face in sight – all middle class on up. (this is a slight exaggeration for effect. But only a slight exaggeration – not a one of the so called “leaders” are from poor backgrounds).

Nah, the guy in yesterday’s article who was screwing his wife’s mom and was the leader of a nazi group lives in a trailer park, and listed his profession as “white supremacist” i.e. unemployed.

Unfortunately she’s going to be more than a little bit susceptible to joining the alt right. Her brother’s views didn’t come from nowhere and she’ll likely share those influences.

I guess in the wake of finding out your brother did such a thing what’s easier to believe; he was ‘evil’or that he was a victim and at least partially right.

Also – these are creepy motherfuckers! I should’t be surprised that underage and racist is their type.
