I‘m having a lovely unplanned migraine vacation today (not a vacation from migraines but a staycation with a migraine) so instead of a regular post. which would require a working brain on my part, here are some creepified pics of the younger generation of Trumps (plus Jared).
Ok, a few more that might be even creepier.
Kind of a stereotype, but I was such a cranky asshole when I quit smoking. The bad mood lasted for maybe three months. I even got in trouble at work for saying “fuck” really loudly.
Amy, sending you warm thoughts and hugs.
@amy
Oh wow, that sounds like a lot to deal with. Hugs if you want them.

Trump lawyer overheard dishing on Russia probe at steakhouse
Of course. Of effin’ course.

Does anyone who voluntarily associates with Trump in any way ever do anything that’s not stupid and slimy? (My apologies to snails, frogs, and snakes. You’re slimy in a good way. Vaya con Katie, my little friends.)
@amy
It’s not a bother at all! Always feel free to post whenever you like. Hugs if wanted.

Da fuck is this House of Cards kerfuffle
What the heck is that giant moth?
@OgglyBoggles
That’s what pretty much everyone on this planet asks themselves every damn day.

All the photos are wonderful. I’m particularly enchanted by the dog, who is flashing the sign of interspecies peace and cooperation.
Five pink pads surrounded by fur back at ya, unnamed canine!
Seconding JS – that giant moth looks both cute, fluffy and yet terrifying.
I kinda want one.
Regarding OP – feel better Dave! I myself am recovering from an eye infection – the antibiotic eyedrops sting and smell horrid, but at least my eyeballs don’t feel like they’ve been sliced by glass shards anymore. So, sympathy for your pain.
@JS
I believe that’s a felt plushie of a Venezuelan Poodle Moth.

Thank you so much for introducing me to the Pooodle moth.
OT, if there is a topic here, but I’ve just been over at the Scarfolk Council blogspot and there’s a great ‘Nazi Anti-Bullying’ poster. My cut & paste skills are nil so you’ll have to have a look for yourselves, but the phrase: “Bullied Nazis often feel glum which can damage their delicate sense of superiority” made me chuckle.

Apologies if someone already posted about this on another thread, but I thought it was apposite to this site.

“Kind of a stereotype, but I was such a cranky asshole when I quit smoking. The bad mood lasted for maybe three months. I even got in trouble at work for saying “fuck” really loudly.”
Really haven’t been in a bad mood at all… thought I would be. I’m finding it hard to concentrate and my hooch is itchy – that doesn’t help. I already swear all the time…
But I’ve been quitting with my quite mellow boyfriend, so it’s been quite easy and we’ve been kind to each other. I even helped him move his stuff out of his passive-aggressive ex-gf’s house on day 1 of not smoking and did ok.
Just on the topic of illnesses, anybody else get run-down in September? I only ask because I’ve been struggling with a recurrent cold and I recall as far back as my high school days (and maybe even before that) that I’ve always got hit with colds or flu in September, always right when school was starting back up and left me feeling really spaced-out for the first week of class. I can’t be the only one this happens to.
I’m thinking that maybe I’m sensitive to the sudden temperature changes that come with a shift from summer to fall. Anybody else get this too?
@Gussie Jives:
Given that I’m still not completely recovered from some plague that one of the families with children brought to a crayfish party on the 26th of august, I’d say it’s not only you. One reason around these parts is that the rather noticeable shift in temperature and humidity when we go from summer to autumn messes up mucous membranes, which in turn makes one more susceptible to colds. Also, when people come back from vacations, and especially when children meet up, all sorts of new and exciting strains get new opportunities to spread.
I got really sick a couple of weeks ago over labor day weekend. Had a fever for a couple of days and my sinuses swelled up so bad that my face looked like one of It’s red balloons. The same thing happened two years ago also on labor day weekend. January and March are the other two months I tend to get sick during.
@WWTH and @Feline
Glad I’m not the only one. Misery and company, I suppose. Just always put a kink in starting a new year of school. I still remember the first day of classes in my last year of Engineer school. I had this exact same tickly throat and stuffy nose and the prof comes in to remind everyone to have an undergraduate thesis supervisor by the end of the week and I’m like “WHAAA–?” And all my friends are like “Oh yeah, I’ve been chatting with Professors Soandso and Whatsherface and I’m going to go with one of them. Totally on top of that.”
All I wanted to do was collapse and now I had to pin down a topic and frantically run around to find a prof I wanted to do it with when most of them weren’t available. Reflecting on days like that, I think it a minor miracle I was able to graduate with halfway decent marks.
@Amy <3 You're making some exceptionally good choices, despite how it might feel to you. You’re doing what you can to keep yourself safe and healthy, you’re avoiding things that you know will cause you harm, and you’re navigating a path towards getting stable again. You’re doing great. Don’t worry about having to sleep in your car or in campgrounds for awhile. I’ve done that, I’ve known plenty of others that have done that. It’s fine. Keep it up, keep aware of the dangerous around you and working towards making things better, and you’ll get where you want to be.
All the love. Write here as much as you like if it helps you! <3
Update:
I just got my travel arrangements finalized, so barring any mishaps, I’ll be leaving for my surgery this Saturday!
I want to feel relieved but all things considered, I’m still kinda worried that something will happen to get in the way.
I’ll feel much better once I’m in recovery, probably rather sore, but better all the same.
Kitty picture for anyone who wants or needs one:
@Jesalin
<3 That's great news sister.
I used to get sick at the start of every school year, thanks to being around a LOT of people after the summer. It got better after graduation.
I hope everyone is feeling a better today, and take time for self-care, you’re worth it!
That hand felted Poodle Moth is the best!

@Jesalin
That’s great news. I hope your surgery and recovery are super smooth.
Jesalin,
Congratulations and best wishes!!
(That floofy, spotted yummy belly!)
As an aside, I almost named my youngest daughter Jessalyn; it remains one of the favorite names I’ve ever heard.
I’m sorry about the migraines, David. I have a friend who has sleeping problems that mess with his schedule – at least with him the headaches are a side effect and not the main thing. Hope you start feeling better soon!
@Gussie – Allergies more than colds – sniffles, dry eyes. It’s weirdly hot in Montreal now, though.
@Amy – hang in there! It’s tough when people use “I did you a favour” to be emotionally abusive and/or complainy. Hope you feel better soon!
@Jesalin – Yay! Best of luck! *Kitten fist-bump*!
