Cowardly bully that he is, Donald Trump sent racist Keebler elf and attorney general Jeff Sessions out today to announce that the administration would be rescinding DACA (the “Dreamers” act), putting 800,000 people who were brought to the US as children, and who don’t know any life outside of the United States, at risk for deportation starting six months from now.
It’s an unbelievably cruel and frankly racist action with no political or constitutional or economic justification, and will harm the country as a whole as well as those who are its primary targets.
Here are some reactions from Twitter and some specific advice on what you — or at least those of you who are Americans — can do to stand up for DACA and those who will be directly hurt by this decision.

Reminder: Trump wanted to get rid of Sessions because he didn't obstruct the Russia investigation but kept him because he was super racist.

91% of Dreamers are employed.
US would lose over $400 billion in GDP if they're deported
They have spotless records.
This is just racism.

That filtered picture of Sessions looks like Bobby from King Of The Hill.
I guess only White people are allowed to keep “dangerous” people outside of their countries.
I can only imagine how far, us Latin Americans, would have gotten if we had been able to forbid immigration from the US, each and every time it sponsored a Coup D’Etat or help set up a dictatorship in our countries.
Or Middle Easterners for that matter… They gotten shit on a lot as well.
I don’t know what’s worse. Trump not having the balls to make the announcement himself so he sends his lapdog to do it for him, Sessions sounding almost gleeful when announcing it or Trump bragging about on twitter like coward he is I got nothing to say except…… fuck. That is all.
And in other news, another terrifying hurricane has developed
https://www.wunderground.com/cat6/category-5-irma-5th-strongest-atlantic-hurricane-record
Florida, Cuba, Bahamas and Virgin Islands all at risk.
I hope the DACA overturn doesn’t happen. Even some GOPers think ditching DACA is sick and stupid!
Glad to see the fight to preserve DACA! DREAMers have a RIGHT to be here!
@PeeVee – we’d be so much better off with Bobby as Atty General.
And I will say it again: Trump’s narcissistic injury won’t let him do anything except undo everything Obama put into place. If Congress sends him a bill to sign extending DACA, I’d bet dollars to donuts he would veto it. Push for a veto-proof majority.
@weirdwoodtreehugger
If only Irma could be selective with Trump voters… but no, it seems that responsible people are on the same boat as the people intent on sinking humanity down with them.
Yeah, you guys might have to pick up my slack on harassing senators about DACA depending on how hard Irma hits us. Looks like she is aiming to do a proper uppercut on us.
I live in NYC and today I got an announcement saying there were going to be traffic issues because of protests in East 57 and 5th avenue. My first reaction to seeing that notification was straight up “what did Trump do now?” I’ve been busy with work and just out of the loop and even without knowing what specifically was happening something told me it was bullshit and behold!
We keep saying “and frankly, racist” as if its still a surprise.
I would wish that Irma do the fandango all over Mar-a-Lago, but there are innocent people who work there, and I don’t want them hurt.
Irma is too far north of Barbados to hit the fam back home. I do have fam in FL, so that’s not good. Could be bad up here ATL. Not full on hurricane bad, but winds and rains still. Power outages surely. The job’s gonna get right busy this week…
Just tried using resistbot it to contact my Congresspeople and got a “robot on fire” error message. The system is over loaded and can’t keep up with all the people trying to contact their reps!
I can’t stop thinking about this. FUCK this so hard. Someone fetch me my dick punchin’ gloves.
@Sinister Pigeon, Axecalibur, anyone I’ve missed
Good luck and best wishes to yourselves and all your folks affected by Irma, and indeed other full-on weather events. We in the UK do not appreciate how lucky we are that this sort of thing is so rare here (for now, fingers crossed).
Not one but two pregnant friends of mine are evacuating ahead of Irma, and one of my former students is trying to figure out where the repeal of DACA leaves him as he goes into his senior year of college. Good times.
Stay safe, everyone.
