Australians learned a bit more today about the motivations of Michael James Holt, a wannabe mass killer who appeared in a New South Wales court for a sentencing hearing after pleading guilty to an assortment of weapons charges. Holt, a Hitler-loving white supremacist obsessed with guns, admitted to planning a mass shooting at an Australian mall.
One of the sources of Holt’s murderous rage? According to a text message from Holt that was read aloud in court today, he was angry that he couldn’t get a date.
“Gonna have to just start killing people if I don’t get laid soon,” Holt wrote. And he apparently meant that quite literally. In another message, he declared that “my hate increases every day, my anger exponentially so.”
It would be nice if we could dismiss Holt as little more than a weird aberration — an neo-Nazified Australian wannabe version of Elliot Rodger, the self-pitying misogynist who murdered six people in Isla Vista California in 2014 as an act of symbolic “retribution” against the women of the world for not spontaneously offering him sex.
But unfortunately, as long-time readers of this blog know well, there’s an entire movement of men out there who think like Holt and Rodger — men who lash out at the world because they feel that women are unfairly denying them sex. In online forums like the Incels subreddit, these self-professed “involuntary celibates” nurture their resentment against women and stoke one another’s rage.
More than a few incels have embraced “Saint” Elliot Rodger as an incel martyr — thought some don’t think he killed enough people to be a true hero — and it’s probably only a matter of time until they embrace Holt as one of them as well. Indeed, a handful of Reddit incels already have.

It still baffles me just how men like Holt grow to believe that women “should” be falling over themselves to have sex with them and that anything less is oppression/injustice/inhumane. I understand we live in a world where parts of media and culture present women as bedroom commodities but to this extent? This MUST simply be personal choice to believe such things.
Why are all incels straight men? Aren’t there lots of sexually frustrated women, non-binary folks and queer men?
Or could it be incels are just misogynists with a different excuse than those other, less entitled to their rage, women-haters. /s

I used to think that it was a good thing for us (meaning feminists) that incels were so openly and loudly twisted and hateful; I thought, essentially, that it would undermine all the groups that share porous borders with them. But no. It seems like it just upped the ante and normalized all that shit. And now here we are.

We are not cockroaches. We are not at the mercy of our impulses, our emotions, or our socialization. Of these, socialization might be the strongest, but there has got to be as much socialization AGAINST mass shootings as there is FOR “getting laid”. It’s a personal choice.

And he did it during one of the most devasting natural events for Texans. That way people focus more on the suffering of others rather than focus on how Trump said that Cops are above the law and white supremecy is validated. He used an upcoming disaster and suffering of many US Citizens as a distraction from him pardoning Arpaio. It’s official, white supremecy and cops are above people and the law, everyone else are second class citizens.

I go back and forth questioning whether he has the savvy/self control to intentionally do things when there are extenuating circumstances that will lessen their impact, as it certainly seems he did today. But of course, it could just as well be that he gets off on this shit, and believes in the notion that little do little good, much do much good.
So maybe he IS capable of delaying gratification, but only for increasing the impact of his dictates. What a wonderful man to have as commander-in-chief.

Funny Trump but that was one of the dumber things you have done yet. It was blindingly obvious that Arpaio was going to be pardoned, what can’t handle six months you big baby. But in other news Mueller has subpoenaed some of Manafort’s associates. He is definitely trying to distract from his collapsing administration. That is the only pardon you are getting little boy Trumpleroy and you used it on someone who would have pretty much gotten a slap on the wrist. In fact you made things worse for him since it is an admission of guilt in the United States, meaning he no longer has immunity to be sued for what he did while sheriff. You pretty much destroyed his life. Anyone else you can try to pardon count as co-conspirators.Oh, and it would be hilarious if since he is technically counted as in the impeachment process that this goes nowhere, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
The pardon came during a natural disaster and late on a Friday. That’s not cowardly and shady at all!
