Hitler was a very nice fellow until SJWs started calling him a Nazi.: Today in Tweets

Saluting right in Der Fuehrer’s face

By David Futrelle

What a miserable weekend. All we can do is keep resisting. There are more of us than there are of them, and we have basic human decency on our side. A lot of people came out today across the country to show solidarity with the victims in Charlottesville, and there are more rallies planned.

On to the tweets:

HAPPY UPDATE:

Also from The Daily Stormer:

But that is in part of the motivation with these guys; more precisely, they’re angry that women can and do say no to them. See this thread:

You know you’ve really fucked up as a human being when you’re denounced by the tiki torch company.

@Alan

if you dial 99955, the operator will put you through to the police but no-one will speak to you. They’ll just listen and run a trace on the call.

This popped up on my facebook and on a bunch of news sites earlier this year; was there some specific event that triggered it?

Also, are you sure that they’ll be silent? Far as I can tell, you’ll get a (possibly automated) system that’ll ask you to do something, like press 5 a couple of times, to confirm that this is a genuine emergency call and that you’re unable to speak.

Curiously, I can’t see any mention of a similar system being used elsewhere, which seems surprising. Surely other countries must experience the same issues?

@ kupo

I just drop them a (not too formal) email.

Actually another thing I learned today was that you can contact our emergencies services by text. You have to register first; but then presumably you can just explain the nature of the emergency with emojis.

@ pie

was there some specific event that triggered it?

Some people used it during the Borough Market attack so the police could listen in without giving away that people were hiding under tables.

possibly automated)

Over here emergency calls are handled manually. If you use the 99955 number the call centre mutes the outgoing signal and the operator doesn’t go through the “Emergency, which service do you require?” routine.

@Scildfreja Unnyðnes Actually there has, in Syria. Spare a thought for these amazing people:

Hello! I don’t comment here a lot but I do lurk. I’ve had a rocky start here in the past. That said; I’m glad that the tide is turning against the Far-Right jerks.

Fake-Prez Jabba The Fartt and these NeoFascist Nazi freaks have only awakened a mighty Progressive giant with their evil, brutality and ridiculous antics. As always; Tyrants shoot themselves in the foot by being tyrants.
The good ol’ “Tarkin Effect” as STAR WARS fans would call it….TO PARAPHRASE: The more you tighten your grip, the more power/people/etc. will slip through your fingers!

These bigoted bozos need to understand that the protests and brutal crackdown thereof in Tienanmen Square was an exception (the Democracy Movement just gave up rather than strengthen in resolve) to the rule….When tyrants try to crack down, they only strengthen The Resistance. Even when the Resistance is temporarily defeated (the Occupy protests), they rise again in another way.

Jabba being “elected” instead of Hillary has ironically been the greatest thing to happen to the Progressive Movement.

The whole present “Administration” is illegitimate! When we demand “Jabba” getting impeached we must also include Pence and Ryan! They believe the same junk as the Orange Menace but unlike him, actually are in full control of their faculties! Pence is stable and somewhat competent and THAT’S SCARY. At least Trumpypoo is an erratic giant baby who tends to put the spanner in his own works with sheer dumbassery, openess and Twitter-addiction!

Anyway; I wish to be a full member of the gang and I love this site….

QUESTION: Is there another type of file I can use to post pics? I see the [img] thingies.

Any time you call emergency services (at least in the US), they run a trace on the call. That’s why, if you dial 911, and hang up, they call back to check on you. If there’s no answer, there’s a fair chance they’ll dispatch police (at low priority) to check, if they know where you’re calling from.

There aren’t any automated touch tone codes in the US 911 system that I know of. Massachusetts has an official “I can’t speak” touch tone response system, but that won’t stop them from talking to try and find out what’s going on.

We also learned that the 112 number (common to all Europe) was introduced because skiers in the Alps kept falling down mountains and not knowing what country they’d landed in.

Oh, image posting, you can use files ending in .jpg, .gif, and .png.
“.jpeg” doesn’t work though.

<3 Spukikitty, welcome. You don't need to use BBCode tags here, by the way, you can just drop the URL in and if it's well formed and a .gif, .jpg or .png it'll embed properly.

Eugh. Thank you for sharing, @FishyGoat. Not good news at all, but I'm glad to know.

American-related news; The WHOIS on the Stormer's website has changed from GoDaddy to Google. So they've moved hosting to Google. If you've got a twitter account, go hassle the googs about it. Don't let the fascists have a safe harbour.

“I might not fit the “girl” description because I’m an elderly 37, but I can’t say I looked at those pictures of Nazis and thought about how’d I’d go home with them if I encountered them in a bar. Actually, I was trying to decide which of them I’d least like to fuck. They all tied for the honor of least fuckable man ever.”

Story time about fucking Nazis! I once had the honor of meeting an elderly man who had participated in the rescue of Denmark’s Jews as a young medical student. They’d recruited a bunch of med students to be involved, but they were going to need to get out of their dorm without being noticed, and the lady in charge of the desk was a Nazi Party member and a hardcore true believer. They needed to get her out of the way.

Luckily, she had a mad crush on one of the friends of the gentleman I met, who had up to this point ignored her, but on directions from the group, asked her to dinner. They ended up back at her place. She never noticed the resistance medics sneaking in and out of the dorm.

Viking Sex God Saves Jews of Denmark.

Anyway. I got unfriended on FB by one of my small handful of conservative online friends because I asked not to see comments ON MY POSTS about how the hateful media was forcing these people who she, of course, abhorred, to become Nazis because they’d been called deplorables, etc., etc.

Very small loss compared to many this week, but I’m feeling a bit bitey.

The CBC had an interview with Andrew Anglin yesterday. I just found out, haven’t watched it yet, but… I have no words.

EDIT: Sounds like they are reporting how Trump didn’t call out the neo-nazis, after an infuriating few minutes of the CBC both-sides’ing themselves.

I haven’t commented here much due to not really being noticed or responded to much, before. I had a dumb first impression.

But I realized I was new and the more I comment the more I’ll be seen as a “regular”.

Well; I’m so happy to be here!

Aheheh, okay, the interview segment isn’t fawning. Starts around seventeen minutes in, and it’s actually Spencer, not Anglin. It starts with Trumpistas shouting “Heil Trump”, follows with creepy music under film of Trump’s election and the nazis bein’ nazis. Spooky music throughout. Drawing a clear line between the Alt-Right and racism, sexism, violence and fascism. Clips of counter-protesters are very reasonable, no mention of all-sides violence. Spencer comes across as a creepy racist shitbag and a Nazi. At the end is a piece with a former Neo-Nazi and leader of the group Life After Hate. The guy says quite clearly “The Alt Right is Neo-Nazi.” Ends with a bit of both-sides’ism that’s disappointing.

Don’t know what to think about it. I wish they would’ve just used clips of him instead of giving him a platform to speak. Fascinating that he talked so much about “identity politics” as if that were a good thing, though. It’s a pretty clear cover for his shitty racism, but I’m surprised he used the term.

Ugh. Would’ve been so much better without having an actual interview with the shitbag, creepy music background or no. “Rising violence! Everyone’s angry! Political division!” Fuck off, CBC, they’re fucking Nazis.

That’s how it works, Spukikitty, yes. Your first comment will get a delayed reaction ’cause of the time it takes for it to pass through moderation, so it’s hard to get through at first. But I remember when you showed up before, and I’m glad you’re commenting again; welcome back!

Breaking news: At the White House, President Trump again addressed the Virginia violence, this time condemning hate groups and saying “racism is evil” 12:50 PM

So someone has convinced Jabba that he has to stop looking like an aynus. Nice try, won’t work — if it takes you two days to figure this out, you’re a loser.

New York Times article today by Krugman:
Opinion | When the President Is Un-American
Trumpism is a betrayal of our national identity.
I haven’t read it yet but

Welp, glad to see Chris Ray Gun is still a colossal point-missing moron. Does this guy have to have a 1488-tatted up skinhead shoved in front of him to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe there’s a problem with Nazis out there?

This actually brings to mind a point that I think needs to be made more prominent to people like Chris: politics takes knowledge to understand. It doesn’t lend itself well to hot-takes, as hot-takey as a lot of news can be. Dick Coughlan took a whole hour to lay out why fears of multiculturalism are rooted in white supremacist talking points. If Chris doesn’t understand this, he needs to stop commenting on politics and read up on this stuff from those of us who have spent time in the trenches and understand the history of these talking points. And Chris is not alone in just assuming that these opinions have no history or context behind them and they’re offered as genuine opinions rather than dog-whistle talking points. It speaks of a naiveté and a laziness that I’ve seen far too often on Twitter, on Facebook and on YouTube.
