With Trump pulling the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement like the huge idiot he is, today seems like a good time for another Trump open thread.
Have at it! No trolls or Trump fans.

@This Handle
OMG, $500/wk (pretax) is poor? Lolololololololololololol. I’ve never broken 10/hr, brah. And I only made that for a month. That was my sweet union job. And if you’re check is mostly overtime, you’re lucky brah. A lot of jobs don’t have overtime, or give it out on seniority, which means you practically have to be in your 50s to have that kind of time in.
I mean, I get it, you probably live in an expensive area, like LA or NYC. But I live in an expensive area as well, and I have kids to take care of, and I’m laughing hysterically at your “poor”. Unless you have like 100 children.
@SFHC
I voted for Trump? Holy Fucking Shit are you stupid. I’m dependent on medicaid. EVEN IF I liked Trump, and was a secret Republican, Trump has always wanted to gut Medicaid. I may be stupid, but I’m not deaf.
Shoulda gone straight for the end. Want passive aggressive? Keep on telling yourself you’re a decent person. You say I’m a bad person, but I don’t wish shit on you.
JFC.

*Throws hands up.*
And, at least you admitted that your passive-aggressive snark was intentional, not that it wasn’t obvious.
Apropos of nothing, but I just wanted to acknowledge God-Emperor Axecalibur’s fantastic use of Prequel Trilogy memeology.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?
I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.
The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did.
Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It’s ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.
So, it’s mean to point out that other people might have it as bad or worse than Mrex, but she’s allowed to laugh at other people’s experience with being poor?
That’s cute.
I guess I didn’t realize that Mrex won the gold medal at the opression Olympics and no one else here has ever experienced hardship and therefore, cannot have an opinion.

Wait a moment. Haven’t we had this thread before, almost word for word in some places?
*Googles*
Yes.
Kee-rist. And this egocentric skidmark thinks she isn’t a troll…
As usual, your memory and Google-fu are admirable, SFHC.
@PeeVee-senpai
I like this!
@Fran,
Shit’s been going on a long, long time. Different names, same phenomena.
Also: I got a “senpai”! *Absurdly happy*
Oh yes. The thread where I learned that the only time I ever struggled financially was when I was a college student. That’s a relief!
@SFHC
“Kee-rist. And this egocentric skidmark thinks she isn’t a troll…”
And you think that you’re empathetic. Thanks for the spit-take.
@WWTH
“I guess I didn’t realize that Mrex won the gold medal at the opression Olympics and no one else here has ever experienced hardship and therefore, cannot have an opinion.”
Yes, that’s why I came here talking about how I was probably losing access to my mental health care and how I wanted to kill myself, because I assumed that everyone else here has never experienced hardship and wouldn’t be able to sympathize. Almost makes sense.
And yeah, originally I was mad at some other people, and I didn’t qualify that, but then I did qualify that. Still got shit. And got told I was a “terrible person”.
But I’m a trooollll, so this is all lieeeessss right? Just like I voted for Trump.
And here we have it: we’ve reached the oppression olympics stage.
My life is pretty good right now, but to call me “elitist” or “classist” because I think the government needs to support retraining, growth of new industries in downtrodden areas, and entrepreneurship makes me take you not even slightly seriously, mrex. I’m not sure what you think would be “not-classist” except to whine endlessly about bringing back factory jobs. You certainly haven’t given any indication of what you would accept.
My life is good atm, but it hasn’t always been, and I’ve never forgotten what it was like to have to choose between rent and food and medical care, with not even enough money to fully fund any one of those things. I lived on cheese for a month, once, and had my electricity cut off multiple times. The only reason I never wound up on the street is because my parents were willing to take me in when I defaulted on my rent (and while I recognize my privilege there, don’t think that came with no strings).
I also find it laughable that you’re attached to your factory job and think you neeeeeeeeeeed a factory job specifically, when it doesn’t pay you shit and you don’t even seem to like it. I would think that, as long as we’re pining after things that we can’t have, you’d pine after a business of your own rather than a new shit-paying factory job. Wouldn’t it be awesome if the government were to better support people who want to start their own businesses? If I’m going to daydream, I’m going to daydream about good things rather than crap things. YMMV, I guess.
“Oh yes. The thread where I learned that the only time I ever struggled financially was when I was a college student. That’s a relief!”
Did I say that?
. I’m not sure what you think would be “not-classist” except to whine endlessly about bringing back factory jobs. You certainly haven’t given any indication of what you would accept.
Well I would repeat that I found your statement classist, not you, but I don’t think you would listen.
What would I accept?
Stop telling me to use a safety net that isn’t there. Stop telling me that you’re not to blame, because I already blame the Republicans. Stop telling me that itxs OK, because IT FUCKING IS NOT.
You qualified two whole days of doubling down later. You also said that Democratic elitism is why they’re not winning elections right now. I don’t see how one person saying something shitty to you would cost Dems the elections last year. Looks more like backpedaling to me.
I hope that you don’t lose your mental coverage and I certainly don’t want you to commit suicide.
But I also think it’s pretty manipulative to start arguments with people and then use your problems as a ploy for sympathy when people get annoyed with you. Especially since you are failing to show empathy for other people’s issues. A lot of people here, myself included have mental health issues and manage to not do that. So it’s no excuse.
If starting arguments is what you come here to do, then fucking own it. Don’t act shocked and hurt when people find you to be behaving trollishly. If it’s not what you’re here to do, than reevaluate how you are communicating. If you wanted to vent about an unpleasant interaction with a friend. Say that and proceed to vent. Again, no one can read your mind. We don’t know that when you say “Democrats” you meant “my friend.”
Split that passive-aggressive hair a little finer. I think I can still see it.
Your whole shtick is to blame Democrats and the people who voted Democrat for somehow not doing enough, mrex. I simply don’t know what the hell you hope to achieve with this blaming after the fact. I’m not going to stop telling you this, because this is what you’re doing.
You did it in the thread SFHC linked, and you started it again with this one.
EVERYBODY here is in economic turmoil right now. Your oppression Olympics doesn’t impress anybody, then, or now, because many people are in the same spot you are.
It’s not about you, and you only. And your continued spotlight on yourself, without acknowledging anyone else, is what makes your behavior trollish. Not your specific situation. WHICH MANY HERE SHARE.
So yeah. All of those posts in the interim doesn’t change what I said a few pages back: you’re here to bash Democrats.
JFC. I’m done.
Yes you did. In the thread from last November that SFHC linked. I said I’ve had plenty of experience being broke. Which is actually not uncommon even for college educated people. You dismissed me by stating that every middle class person is broke when they’re in college. Even though I never actually said I was only poor in college.
Newsflash. There are more people with college degrees than there are good paying jobs. A degree in no way guarantees financial security. Especially when you don’t have any family connections to help you get a great job and you have depression and are socially awkward which makes networking next to impossible.
Seriously. If you want any sympathy, you have to stop pretending like we’re all lying or exaggerating when we say we’ve had problems of our own.
@WWTH
“If it’s not what you’re here to do, than reevaluate how you are communicating. If you wanted to vent about an unpleasant interaction with a friend. Say that and proceed to vent.”
My friend is an asshole, but he’s not the only Dem that’s unsympathetic to working class people who lose their jobs. And I did REPEATEDLY say that I was not referring to anyone here. Which was ignored, in favor of how I was lyyyying, until I eventually assumed everyone must agree with asshole friend if they want to fight about it so much.
It’s no excuse for my behavior, but I cannot put myself in other people’s minds to see how things look from their POV. I’m just a self-absorbed asshole.
I know everyone is having problems. It’s why I looked for sympathy here. Maybe someday I’ll be able to act human enough that people will really believe me when I say that I know that, and that I have empathy for them as well.
“Yes you did. In the thread from last November that SFHC linked. I said I’ve had plenty of experience being broke.”
Sorry.
Don’t do that. Don’t attack other posters. SFHC deserves better than that. We all do. Your passive-aggressive, and now flat out aggressive attacks are not welcomed.
This is ableist as hell. Deaf people are not incapable of understanding things like whether a candidate is working against their best interest as this statement implies.
“Deaf people are not incapable of understanding things like whether a candidate is working against their best interest as this statement implies.”
Holy fucking shit that is grasping. I’ll give you that it was angry, and shitty, but do you rack your brain over every single one of my posts, just to look for the worst possible way to interpert it, just so you can pat your back about what a monster I am?
Congrats. I’m a monster.
“Don’t do that. Don’t attack other posters. SFHC deserves better than that.”
Fuck her. Did you read what she said to me? I’ll say this once to you, I didn’t vote for Trump, I fucking despise Trump, and she fucking knows that, she’s just is trying to upset me. When I wrote about repeatedly losing access to mental health care despite being suicidal. (This wasn’t some ploy I ran to after-it was in THE FIRST FUCKING POST). She responded by calling me racist. That’s it, the extent of my existence, I have no problems, just racism. And you know what, I actually don’t hate her, so I bit. She followed that up by calling me a terrible person, and a fucking idiot that’s trying to justify voting for Trump and sending the country into civil war. So yeah, fuck her.
I’m sorry for making you all feel like I dissmissed you. I’m sorry for making it all about me. You’re all right. But don’t all act like you’re not on the attack yourselves. Here’s a fun riddle for you all, I’m passive aggressive, but yet the people that I’m “passive aggressive” towards (POM) told me that I should start a business and go back to school when it shouldn”t be unreasonable to assume that I can’t due to finances/responsibilies. Somehow pointing out that attitude as problematic is a great passive attack on POM. But somehow her statement isn’t an attack.
That’s not what POM said.
This is what POM said
So yeah, you’re really misrepresenting here.
@mrex
Read this, read every fuckbastarding word, then print it out and shove it up your arse. I mean, unless you can’t read it without shoving it up your arse first, in which case, rearrange the steps.
