Over on the Men Going Their Own Way subreddit, the fellas are discussing a pressing problem of contemporary society: “Why must men always be better than the women they are trying to date?”
Men have to be better that the women they date? I’m sure this must come as unexpected news to many if not most of the women I’ve dated. But let’s set that aside for a moment.
Today’s MGTOW of the Day, a dude calling himself DangZagnut, thinks the whole “men have to be better” thing, which he thinks is a real thing, has to do with the fact that ladies don’t actually like sex.
Let’s let him explain:
Given that virtually everything in this comment is complete nonsense, I’d say that DangZagnut has not answered the question he set out to answer. But his comment does raise another important question: Why are MGTOWs the absolute worst?
@Ktoryx
Ahahahah, I actually googled Hibachi and looking at the pictures I thought “wtf…”
Vaginal steaming is apparently a thing, so don’t worry, you’re in good company.
It never ceases to amuse me how often migtoes accurately describe sex with them as a shitty thing that’s bad for you. You would think that if they and the incels are this desperate, they’d be making up shit about how sex with them is amazing.
Oh, and advertising their total lack of experience and expertise at the sexy times. If women have no sex drive and don’t enjoy sex, then it’s obviously not the man’s fault when she has a horrible time.
Alan,
So it seems that now these ridiculous factions of the manosphere are simply dedicated to “Who hates women more”.
Faaaaabulous.
Ah, well. More fodder for us to point and laugh.
(And I admire your dedication in helping David out in finding the worst of the worst online. Seriously, my skin would be positively prune-like from taking so many showers after reading that much skeevy dreck.)
Vaginal steaming over a Hibachi? What’s next, jade eggs up the hooha?
No. Penile steaming.
@Virgin Mary
These fuckers are everywhere,
[Image: Supergirl yelling ‘And that makes me so MAD!’ while shooting energy beams from her eyes.]
I’m so terribly sorry you were put through that bullshit.
Damn right. Go for it, dude.
You were never going to, that’s just a lie told to people read as girls so they’ll know their ‘place’.
@JS
I would give anything for “That really steams my penis!” to become the new MRA saying whenever they get ridiculously mad about women.
“An all-female screening of Wonder Woman? Why, that really steams my penis!”
@chessman
No. However in my experience too many need education regarding consent, and more still about their responsibilities should they start a child through their dating/relationship activities.
I don’t see miggytoes helping out in those areas though.
JS: hmmm. So a hot dog.
@JS
Man, this gives the phrase “Get back into the kitchen” an ENTIRELY new meaning.
@VirginMary
This happened to me.
As a small child people always asked my mother and father if I was a girl, and they would get very angry about it, which suggested to me that you were not allowed to be transgender.
You aren’t allowed to be transgender, in actuality. 😀 I was right, as we can see with all the transphobic bullshit currently on display in modern society.
As I got older, as a teenager, people would call me ‘miss’ by accident while I was still desperately trying to play at being a boy, and I thought, again, that this meant I was doing something wrong.
Consequently, I engaged in all sorts of toxic masculinity in a wrongheaded and idiotic societally-enforced quest to become a real man, and damaged myself and my relationships with a lot of my friends in the process.
I learned a little about being transgender while still a teenager in the early 2000s, but I was led to believe it was this really weird shit in which you absolutely had to cut your genitals off and be heterosexually inclined to the opposite sex once you had changed your gender, and erase your personality entirely in favor of traditionally masculine or traditionally feminine roles.
Much, much later, I entered the current stage of my life where I found out that trans ladies who have sex with women and still have their girldicks are fuckin’ valid as hell and not abominations, and you are allowed to like stuff that doesn’t align traditionally with your true gender.
So now I’m a very nice lady with a big dick who likes vidya, military history, literature, art, technology, guns, and swords.
So…does that mean you’re going to change your nym, @Virgin Mary? Or will you keep it as kind of a legacy thing?
@Francesca
Ooooh, I loves me some military history! What era fascinates you the most? Being a Sharpe fan, I loves me some Napoleonic era war docs. Trafalgar, Waterloo, Austerlitz, Borodino… line up some historians to talk about ’em for an hour and you couldn’t pry me away from the screen! 😀
@Gussie
When I was a kid, I was all about the Medieval European warfare, and that will always be my most favorite thing, but I have kinda set it aside recently due to all the racist white people who glorify that period as being an idyllic era where white men were chivalrous knights, white women were princesses, and there were no multicultural societies contaminating the pureness of their race.
An example of this ideology:
http://stuffblackpeopledontlike.blogspot.com/2012/01/100-renaissance-fairs.html
Contrary to the author of that blog, I, a black person, like that sort of stuff, but obviously not so much if idiots like him are going to use Medieval European history as a platform for “WHITE PEOPLE ARE SUPERIOR!”
I also like the Napoleonic Era as you do, but I started out liking the naval theaters because I watched Master and Commander as a younger Fran, and love everything regarding tall ships and the Age of Sail. A little while later I became fascinated with line infantry battles, so, yes, that falls under my wheelhouse as well.
There’s just something grand and majestic about those very same battles you’ve quoted. I can’t quite put my finger on it and it makes me sound bloodthirsty but goddamn it, you can’t not be impressed by the tactics used in battle then. Really amazing.
Currently, I am obsessed with two eras: Early Empire-period Rome and WWI-WWII. As some mammotheers who are also interested in these times have noted, this is probably due to certain similarities inherent in our present day to these periods.
I’m also reading up on the Boer conflict. It’s quite fascinating and seems to be unfortunately overlooked.

I adore this blog.
Best wishes to you in your transition Virgin Mary. 🙂
On the subject at hand, this makes me glad I dodged the “Incel” bullet growing up. I was awkward, geeky, and had soaked up a lot of sexist stereotypes, entitlement and negative self-image along the way. I was never MRA/MGTOW bad, but looking back, I can remember a time when I entertained milder versions of these arguments.
One of the things that really jolted me out of it was messing around on FurryMUCK, the old text-chat RP games. Over time, I started to get pretty good at being able to tell who was a woman, and who was a guy playing a woman. What surprised me at the time was that it wasn’t “Guys want to have sex and women don’t”, but simply that guys playing women were much more openly sexual.
At the time, I thought it was media expectations and slut shaming; it didn’t really hit me just how much it was based on legitimate fear for their well-being, even in a place that offered anonymity and freedom. That would come once I started listening to active feminists online.
And that’s part of what makes me so angry about these assholes trying to drive women out of their social spaces: in addition to being completely awful to the women targeted by this behavior, it reinforces their beliefs, and creates grounds for a new generation to be isolated from women: heterosexual and homosocial. This generation is growing up with even more toxic beliefs than I was ever exposed to. There’s going to be a lot more young radicalized and alienated assholes growing up in the barren fields created by those who radicalized and alienated themselves.
@PeeVee
Somebody – perhaps Alan – was telling me about how King Arthur had a black knight, so the whole business of “OMG NO BLACKS IN MUH MERRIE OLD ENGLAND” doesn’t hold up under scrutiny.
Recently I’ve been watching a BBC Shakespeare production of Richard III, where a black woman plays Queen Margaret and a bunch of black people are wandering around in various roles in the background, which appeals to me greatly.
I like that blog too. I also like the fact that it causes so much tears and anger amongst the racist set. People spend so many hours and sweat and blood into desperately trying to debunk it, it’s really funny.
@LeftWingFox
Many moons ago, I was one of those guys who played female (and female with extra bits) on MU* games of that sort.
I took great pride in the fact that people like you who claimed to be capable of discerning the true gender of the person behind the screen all thought I was genuinely female.
I am genuinely female now, though, sooooooooooo, yeah. 😀
Women have about the same sex drive as men if you look at long-term couples having healthy sex that’s focused on pleasure.
It’s actually common for men to also have a low sex drive related to shame, like if they’re porn addicts or they were taught that ejaculating anywhere outside a vagina (without a condom) is evil. Slut-shaming has a similar effect on women, and there’s no really reliable evidence that there are biological differences between men and women in terms of sexual desire. The biological differences are more related to the specifics of how getting off actually works.
Hehe! 😀 And I’d never claim to be infallible, just better than random guessing. 🙂
@LeftWingFox
Say, you wouldn’t happen to be on TapestriesMUCK these days, would you?
@Francesca: Not since 2002. Long story, but a combination of a move, a hard drive failure, a privacy-challenged landlord and a bad anxiety/depression episode resulted in a hard break from the furry community up to that point.
Fran,
I just don’t get people, truly. I mean, what is so bloody complicated at the thought that people of all races have existed and mingled throughout history?
I actually saw a post on another website, about how “nobody as outraged about the Great Wall of China as they are about Trump’s border wall, and LOOK!!11!! The Moguls invaded anyhow and there are no pure blooded Chinese left in China!!!11!!! So why are people protesting Trump’s wall???!”
After I stopped laughing, I said “1) There are no “pureblood” anyone, and never were, and 2) Duh. That wall obviously didn’t work, now, did it?”
And I didn’t even try to address how tenuous his grasp of history was, so I let it go at that.
People. Sheesh.
@PeeVee
Well, the Disney movies only show white people being princes and princess and knights, sooooooooooo obviously that’s how things were back then.
:^)
I mean, if you get your history from old Disney movies, I guess.
Recently, Disney’s been getting better. I liked Big Hero Six a lot because the main cast included a black guy, an asian woman, an asian dude, a white woman, and this was considered totally normal.
I want them to make a Frozen/Moana crossover and piss literally every white racist the fuck off. Hire me the fuck up to write it, Disney. I’ve got the whole thing planned out.
@LeftWingFox
I empathize entirely with your break with the fandom. I, too, haven’t had breaks with other fandoms so much as being repulsed by the attitudes within.
As I said, the Medieval fandom is co-opted by white supremacists.
Star Wars, my second oldest fandom, fucking lost me after the ‘little white cuckball’ shitstorm that The Force Awakens unleashed, revealing its co-option by white racists.
I’ve had difficulty with other fandoms due to all the white supremacy contaminating them, but I’m trying to force myself to look past that. They want us to be scared off. That’s their ideal.
ETA:
I used to roleplay a lot until someone once told me something that boils down to this:
@leftwingfox
I mean, I know what you’re talking about because I’ve met plenty of guys playing girls in MMOs, but for me I’m not all that overtly sexual in online games because I’m there to play the game, not to sext. Most guys I played with weren’t being openly sexual, either. Really usually what I would see was guys playing as girls being super flirty and asking for handouts or power leveling, plus playing up stereotypes like crazy (one guild mate drove me crazy with his talk about his nails and panty hose and shoes while playing his female toon). Was sexual conversation common in this MUCK?
