Ariana Grande has been getting a lot of hate from alt-rightists and other assholes in the wake of the terrorist bombing that killed nearly two dozen after she performed in Manchester.
The alt-righties blame her for the bombing because, well, she supported Hillary Clinton, participated in the Women’s March against Trump, and in a bizarre incident several years ago licked some donuts in a donut shop and declared that she hated America, in what was apparently some ill-conceived impromptu protest against American consumerism, or something.
She apologized for the donut thing, but the unforgiving righties still think she’s the virtual equivalent of the Manchester suicide bomber. The execrable Milo Yiannopoulos, for example, declared in a Facebook posting that Grande is “ferociously pro-immigrant, pro-Islam and anti-America. Makes you wonder whether they bombed to attack her or in solidarity.”
That’s pretty terrible. But somehow the Men Going Their Own Way (But Not Very Quietly) over at MGTOW.com have managed to outdo even Milo in their incoherently angry (and utterly unfair) attacks on the singer.
“Ariana Grande is another feminist that loves Islam and hates TRUMP,” declared a fellow calling himself Man in the Mountain in a MGTOW.com forum posting.
Repulsive woman that lets her ego get to her tiny brain and our youth worships these cock ballerinas that can’t even sing right!,
I’ll give you a second to process the mangled syntax before we continue.
WTF is up with the world today!, this fucking bitch wished dead to her fans and now had her wish granted!, now instead of staying in England where the attacks happened and show “solidarity”, she escapes to Florida to the arms of her blue pill husband LOL. What a hypocrite …
How is the media not covering this fact and laser focusing only on what happened? oh that’s right, shes a woman, we cannot demonize the demons among us in our society….THIS IS THE BLUE PILL HELL!.
And when they even mention this cock riding bitch, they are always saying how “sad” she could be feeling about what happened…..I don’t think shes sad, she probably fuck the guy after what happened while she was on some sort of high because her “life” was on the line…..
What a thoughtful fellow.
Others in the thread were equally angry, if a little less incoherent. Someone called ResidentEvil7 declared:
She loves the Islam cult that caused terror at one of her concerts and hates the guy that wants to stop it. Tells you what kind of nature she has.
Someone called “Two Time Winner” offered these completely reasonable thoughts:
How can you be a feminist and love Islam. She must have no clue what the religion is about and thinks it is fashionable to support it. They would let about 50 ISIS guys rape her and then cut off her head
Someone called “blade” declared that this scenario “would probably turn this sick little fuck on.” Probably not so much after the beheading, though.
In another comment, blade suggested that someone
Dump this trashy c*nt in Afghanistan . Little kids blown to bits that she makes money of . Evil c*nt of a thing .
“Freedom Not Slavery,” meanwhile, didn’t let his complete ignorance get in the way of his hatred.
Don’t know who she is but supporting terrorism is treason and she should be executed for it.
“Bagsofsand” informed his colleagues that he’s been suspicious of Grande for some time.
As soon as I saw Ariana Grande on TV some years ago, I noticed something was very OFF about her.
I quickly noticed the extreme hypocrisy in her behaviour, and look of DECEIT in her young, ‘pretty’ face.She’s not a kind person.
Yeah, I’m not really sure that anyone on MGTOW.com is qualified to offer opinions on anyone else’s kindness.
H/T — @TakeDownMRAs
Alan – I just don’t think it’s the place of the offending party to proclaim that all is well; it hints at a veiled threat, especially when the offending party is bigger and kind of a bully.
Valentine – I hope you can get your keyboard issues resolved soon! I know nothing about the differences in Cyrillic alphabets; I was taught Soviet Russian in the US military (in 1979.)
I use the Lexilogos website to write out things in Cyrillic because learning a new keyboard is not happening.
Why is female in scare quotes?
@hambeast it will be easy for you i think)))) just try it because all letters are there and auto corrected will help with words too. I am using only Russian keyboards and Ukraine sometimes. Ukraine language has more letters and also some same as russian but used differently. Bulgarian is garbage- not enough letters and all on wrong
place ?? but it is only defalt option i have right now.
@Trolly:
You do realize there are men and non-binary-gendered people here, right? RIGHT???
Also, you do realize your spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation are shit, right? Right???
Also too: Exactly what point are you struggling to make? Not exactly doing your side in this imaginary battle any favors either, are you?
Bina, he probably thinks those of us with obviously male names are actually women pretending to be men. Whether that includes David I have no idea.
I wonder what gender he thinks i am…maybe he dont know Valentyn is a mans name ??
So a fascist ranting about the Muslim threat killed two people and injured a third. That’s a few miles from my apartment.
White male, 20-40.

@Valentine
I have big fingers too. I do things I didn’t intend to do all the time. I hope you get a keyboard that works for you soon.
@Pagan Reader (((( i understand your pain. My cousin has the beautiful musician hands, i am sure he never destroy his phone with stupid fuck-updates. Но, все хорошо! Я могу писать на русском языке! Ура! ????? happy endings! Я сумасшедший…
@ YOLO MGTOW:
I’m guessing you spent all day in the spam filters before David decided to allow your post. Don’t worry that you’ve missed any kind of opportunity though; you won’t be here long.
So you’d like to pretend that there’s some context that makes these comments anything other than hateful shallow misogyny? You want to claim that we’re cherry-picking to make you lot look worse?
Prove it.
Citation needed, you lazy troll. Nobody here is going to try to argue against your unsupported implicit assertion that there’s some deeper context that would paint these MGTOW comments in a wholly different light.
Prove. It.
Nah, I didn’t think so.
That’s yet more projection, which is pretty much the go-to rhetorical approach from you MRAs. Find whatever you do that’s horrible, then pretend that your foes (imagined or real) do it. You guys LOVE to cherry-pick a single line or clause from a larger text, and then angrily chatter about how evil this proves someone else is.
We’re not doing that here.
Lazy trolls like you try to use whataboutism and goalpost shifting and No True Scotsman arguments to reframe discussions. It’s been tried many times before, by smarter and more coherent people than you.
But, hey, prove me wrong; show that the MGTOW comments in the article above are not representative.
Go on.
Prove it.
Multiple citations needed, from primary sources.
Show us how the viewpoints of the most popular MGTOW writers significantly oppose alt-right views.
Prove us wrong.
You won’t. You can’t. There’s a massive overlap in those groups, and their views are damned near identical in most regards.
MGTOW pretends to be about empowering men, but really it’s about hating women, and hating brown people, and hating Muslims, and hating Jewish people, and every other hatred that the alt-right embraces and embodies.
Prove me wrong.
Citations needed. Not just something brief that’s taken out of context, mind you; that’s precisely what you’re complaining about here! No, no, no, I want to see several citations by leading modern MRA writers showing how their views contradict the alt-right.
I won’t hold my breath though.
Oh, no. No, sunshine, you’re quite wrong. There are a lot of ways to win against you cretins. Case in point; I’m quite effectively mocking and deconstructing your arguments here, leaving you looking foolish and impotent. And a lot of other people do this in a lot of other places.
I know, I know. You special snowflakes have your safe spaces (He-Man Woman-Hater Clubs) where you can whine to each other about how icky and mean women are, and this encourages you in your delusion that society as a whole supports or even tolerates your views. And then (surprising nobody) you project this onto feminists and liberals, and call them special snowflakes. That’s just precious.
You literally lack all comprehension of the views of those you’re attacking, but we know who and what you are.
And we’re not impressed.
You only fool each other, pumpkin. Everyone outside your epistemic bubble sees right through you.
But, ok. I’m your Huckleberry.
Prove. Me. Wrong.
[Note to other readers: since my divorce, I’ve been angrier and more obstreperous than I prefer to be. I try to channel that constructively against trolls. This guy posted back on the first page but I don’t think anyone else saw his post, so I cut loose.]
All credit to Ariana for the planned Manchester benefit gig. An example to us all.
Be safe Portlanders!

Feminists are in the plurality. Also, consider all the ‘fellow travellers’ who don’t use the word for whatever reason (frex, male allies not wanting to steal thunder). Basically, the reports of feminism’s demise have been greatly exaggerated…

YOLO MGTOW,
“I love how the worse MGTOW comments are strategically put on display for everyone to see. Just grab a bunch of comments off a forum. You pull the comments out of an ongoing transcript.”
That IS the context! That’s the OP! How can you even pretend that’s cherry picking?
Go your own way. Bye.
I believe I’ve said this, but I still think it’s actually legitimately hilarious how sad manosphere trolls always come barging in with their “BUBUBUBUBUBU CONTEXT!!! YOU’RE CHERRY PICKING!!!” whines, when anyone who even takes a cursory glance for themselves at the original locale that spawned these posts will… see an even larger number of shit-flinging gibbons all dressed up in their Sunday best.
Like, I’m pretty sure David actually tends to not post the absolute worst of the worst comments, so the only “strategic display” going on here is choosing how horrible a comment you draw the line at. There’s no context that excuses the things these people say. They’re not in the minorities of the forums they post on; if they were, they would summarily be downvoted into oblivion and banned. Instead, they’re encouraged by not only their peers, but also the people moderating/running the sites.
As far as the OP is concerned, I know this is a very small point to latch on to and I could be wrong, but is Ariana Grande even married?
Oh yes, the old cherry picking argument. Ever since this site started you guys have been trying this one. I’ll issue you the same challenge we always do. Find me one prominent MGTOW who isn’t a misogynist. Preferably not YouTube because no one wants to listen to that. It shouldn’t be too hard for you to find a blogger who isn’t a misogynist though. If David’s just cherry picking the worst extreme comments that is.
Also, he always links to where we got the comments from. Every time someone follows the link, the other comments are just as bad.
Anti-feminism is political in and of itself. Even a few years ago, before the manosphere and the alt-right started to increasingly blend together, it was still political.
Next.
You’re only being shamed because you act shameful.
“Women are evil bitches” is a philosophy now?
Mocking misogyny isn’t censorship.
How is it saving men’s lives? You admit right here
that MGTOW doesn’t have any concrete goals or leaders and it doesn’t do anything. From what I’ve seen, this “philosophy” doesn’t make you guys any happier. It just makes you bitterly rant and troll feminist websites.
Yeah, misogyny upsets me. Not because I value your personal opinion. Because misogyny in our culture hurts or kills scores of women and every online misogynistic rant feeds right into that toxic culture.
Since your name sounds like you might be our old friend Miggy, I’ll leave you with a declaration.
I’m on my period right now!
@axe
Fuck sorry, comments policy working in all languages. I’m always saying this one…?
@Valentine
No prollem. Wouldn’t have even noticed, but Cyrillic is fun to transliterate even if I still don’t quite have it memorized. I always forget what this д and this Щ are. I like writing systems, so I’m working on it 🙂
Would I be correct in assuming you learned most of your more formal SJW 101 stuff in English? Just curious. Been thinking about how rhetoric and philosophy cross language/cultural barriers. Ever since I heard Stephen Fry ponder whether Hitler’s speeches would have worked in Britain:

Hmmm… I seem to be veering perilously off topic…

@axe
I always say russian alphabet is easy for English people to learn – all letters have only one sound, just maybe change stress in a word and that is it. Looks difficult maybe becsuse some strange letters, but now if only two are missing from your memory that is very good )))
Yes i learned most of what i know for social correct words on english from this website. Honestly i was here reading for long time, since 2010, but i didnt comment until 2016. In russian maybe it is not so much like this, yes something is offensive but if people like Nadia Savchenko can use ‘zhid’ in public without too much problem becoming after, you know it not the same as on enlgish. Also English does not change for male/female. Because i am man, i will spend my life speaking differently about myself than my girlfriend will. Also i will speak differently about women than i will about men, because words changing for gender. Yes there are no gender words, but this not for peoples, only object and things. To make the changes like you have on english will be difficult and also you have to change minds first too. Basically, very hard to change russian. Word like сумасшедший not cause a problem on russian. You say about someone else maybe they think little bit not good, but not same like on english. Here i say same on english and very unacceptable.
This is what you meant?
Valentine – Just looked at the Ukrainian keyboard on Lexilogos (I’ve already seen Bulgarian) and the extra letters would render a lot of words unintelligible to me. Russian is great in that it’s very hard to misspell words and the rules have way fewer exceptions. Although straightforward verb tenses are nice, declining nouns and adjectives makes that benefit a wash for me.
I’m also on a sort of one-woman campaign to get people to stop typing “Tяump”* because it drives me to distraction; my brain keeps trying to pronounce “tyaump” and it’s mentally painful.
*mostly on another blog; I don’t remember seeing it done here
@hambeast
Fuck i promised not to comment on this russian/trump/us bullshit. So i wont. But yes also that annoy me when people writing enlgish with russian letters. Just confused! I would also see what you seen there Тяump. Though looks like could read as (badly) Tyaitr bexause m same like t.
@Valentine
Well, English letters all have, like, 3 sounds depending on context, but i catch your point 🙂
Way easier time learning the Japanese syllabaries. Cyrillic has a weird uncanny valley thing going. It looks like it should make the p sound, why is it r instead? And C always sounds like s? It’s close enough to the Latin alphabet that my brain has a hard time distinguishing sometimes
Cool! I wonder if there’s any common, English words that are offensive when translated to Russian/Ukrainian…
Yeah, our antisemitism uses code words a lot. ‘Globalist banksters’ and such. If someone used the English equivalent of that slur, there’d be problems
Good point…
Not like we don’t have a lotta mind changing to do ourselves, but I imagine it’d be harder with a more gendered language
Reminds me of the word ‘cunt’. In Britain, it’s generally used to mean someone is a bit of a jerk. In Murica, it’s up there with racial slurs as a thing you just can’t say, period. Even within the English language we have these issues
Just wanted your perspective. Thanks, buddy! 😀
Yeah, about that asshole who murdered two people in Oregon:
http://www.portlandmercury.com/blogtown/2017/05/27/19041594/suspect-in-portland-hate-crime-murders-is-a-known-white-supremacist
His name is Jeremy Christian.
The irony. It burns.
Valentine said
I’ve noticed that, too, but it’s enough like театр which is a word that doesn’t remind me of the Orange Howler Monkey at all, so seems just nonsense, I guess. My English-as-first-language trained brain just goes to the tyaump for some reason.
I’ve read that there’s a debate about getting rid of the hard sign, is that true?
@hambeast
I don’t know. There is debates for a lot. First was ё now ъ – just usual bullshit )))) big argument now about ukrainian, as if no one was speaking before maidan and now everytime is like a political statement. People complain about Odesa and Kyiv as if these were never used before maidan. Usually i don’t care or listen to this bullshit ?
Axe
Probably yes, but i dont know for sure. You maybe guesd the topics i talk about here i will not talk about at home, thats why i come here. I try to think of example now but i cant. But of course we have ты/вы so if you learning russian then you could offend by informal. But usually people respect that you learning. But for words i dont know. People might be upset if you use swear infront of them, but could also just think it is funny ?
I think i dont need to say it is also very old fashioned here too. You must know already though about LGBT+ rights here. Most progressive option something like-i dont mind gay people so long as if they marry they not get children’ ((( to try to explain someone they must change there langauge – almost impossible!
