Nazoid fantasy author Theodore “Vox Day” Beale has had some, well, interesting, if contradictory, responses to the carnage in Manchester. The one thing they all have in common? Utter moral bankruptcy.
In his first blog post after news of the attack broke, Day seemed to suggest that the victims more or less had it coming to them. “[T]he Killing Season has fallen upon the West,” he wrote. “And the post-Christian West cannot honestly say it does not deserve it.”
In a followup post, Day changed his tune, instead calling for the forced expulsion of Muslims and other immigrants from “the West” — a racist crusade he likes to call “Reconquista 2.0.” He explains:
Reconquista is the relatively peaceful, civilized, and historically-proven-effective way.
Day, himself an immigrant to Europe who often mentions his own Native American blood, then “warns” his readers that such a “relatively peaceful” solution may not be enough.
[I]f the multiculturalists, globalists, quislings, and cuckservatives absolutely insist on standing in the way, there is an obvious alternative. However, they’ll probably like that even less, considering that it involves them too.
Nationalism intensifies. And history’s great tide is going to wash over the world whether we will or no. The coming season became absolutely inevitable, and totally unavoidable, once these waves of immigration into the West were permitted to take place. I warned you. Many others warned you.
Day suggests that this allegedly inevitable “alternative,” er, solution to the Muslim Question will be a bloody one indeed.
Perhaps the fathers and brothers of all the murdered children of Manchester will content themselves with candlelight vigils and platitudes, as so many others have for the last 16 years. But sooner or later, one of them will not, and that man will make Anders Breivik look like a moderate.
There is going to be a lot of talk about thoughts and prayers, as always. But, as it is written, do not neglect to leave room for God’s wrath.
While Day is careful to present his predictions of an imminent anti-immigrant bloodbath as a “warning” rather than a threat, he rather gives the game away with his choice of graphic for the post: a picture labeling the aforementioned far-right terrorist/mass child murderer Anders Breivik a “saint.”
On Twitter, meanwhile, Day isn’t even bothering to hide his anti-immigrant bloodlust.

Day has also been retweeting others as bloodthirsty as he is:

This is exactly the response the terrorists want. Day and others like him on the far right know this, but they don’t care. They share the same apocalyptic fantasies as their enemies; they just want their side to win the bloody racial war they’re trying their best to bring on.
I’ve had to take a few deep breaths in order to respond without breaching the comments policy. But I just can’t hack that I currently live in a world where murdered kids are ‘political activists’ or ‘future Staceys’. Are these people so blind they can’t see that they’re the same ilk as people who call 8 year old little girls ‘crusaders’? Frikkin’ identical.
The original atrocity made me despair, but it’s the responses from people like this shit that’s making me angry.
Do you know what the ideological difference is between the alt-right nationalists and ISIS?…
I don’t, either.
ETA: @ Alan;
I don’t think they can, and I’m sure they’d vehemently disagree, insisting “we’re on the RIGHT side”
Vox, you ugly, ugly person. Go to hell.
Funny how when mass violence is perpetrated by a white guy with a gun and anyone brings up gun control, we’re scolded because now is not the time for politics. When mass violence is perpetrated by a Muslim, particularly one with brown skin, it’s perfectly acceptable to “politicize” the incident by talking about mass deportation, war, whatever.
Anyway, does Dish Girl realize that Obama (assuming that’s the 8 years she’s referring to) was president of the US and not the British prime minister? What, the entire world isn’t the US?
Weird Eddie asks:
The name they call God by when they name-check Her as having authorized the murders they (want to) commit. I know it’s only a difference in labels, and that (as William James famously observed while tripping his balls off on laughing gas) there are no differences but differences of degree between degrees of difference and no difference, but it keeps them from teaming up to kill us, and that’s enough of a reed to hang your hat on.
(“By God! how that hurts!
By God! how it doesn’t hurt!”)
I just did something I will regret for a long time, which is follow the link that David provided to the Galactic Zero’s homepage. His initial post is bad enough (“ENOCH POWELL WAS RIGHT” – oh, fuck off), but the comments. Dear Gods, the comments. ‘It seems the Muzzies don’t care for the pop tart’. Misogyny, racism, zero empathy – and they’re all so fucking proud of it.
Genuinely, David, I don’t know how you can wade through that shit all day. I go down drains for fun and I have never encountered such a bunch of enormous turds in all my life.
I feel the need to point out that we still don’t actually know who did it, much less why (ISIS would claim responsibility for a gas leak at a barbeque). So, in addition to everything else, they’re currently barfing their daily genocide threats at something they’ve completely made up.
What a despicable human being Beale is, and a coward at that.
Thank you for your thoughts, Mr Day.
People have been blowing up bits of Britain since gunpowder was invented. So we have given some thought to how you handle a terrorist attack. More than you have, clearly.
Public outcry fails, because it gives the terrorists publicity for their cause, and inspires others.
Using large-scale military tactics fails, because you are dealing with a small number of people who hide among innocents. It also results in the obviously unfair deaths of many innocent people, radicalising their friends and relatives and escalating what was a tiny handful of people into an entire army. You must be aware of this from your country’s own hunt for Osama bin Laden, which I am sure you endorsed fully and is one of the reasons we are all in this particular IS pickle.
So, to cope with a terrorist attack the British way: mourn, honour and remember the dead, and then get on with your life. That’s the only way to manage this. That is what we did after 7/7, it’s what we did every time the IRA blew something up, and it’s what we’ll do now. Continuing as we were is the best revenge.
Now please do us a favour and fuck right off. We have our own homegrown idiots to deal with right now, and we have to cope with whatever is coming tonight in Manchester, which has a large Muslim population; it’ll be a coming together or a riot, and only God knows which.
I found out about this event last night at the Jean Michel Jarre, and he basically called for us to resist these sorts of acts by…well doing what we were doing, showing no fear, celebrating in the face of terror. But Beale isn’t fit to lick Jarre’s boots, so there’s that.
Nobody expects a re-reconquista.
@Violet the Vile
*slow, respectful applause*
re: the article
You gotta be fuckin’ kiddin’ me, Vox Day.
Deonounce one set of terrorists that happen to use a religion that scares you as a shield, and hold another terrorist whose values happen to align with yours aloft.
I’ve been reading about you since my days on Fundies Say The Darndest Things, and you’ve NEVER gotten better.
Not once.
Go step on a LEGO.
Alan said
It’s all despair for me, but yeah.
Dang, these people are abominable.
Sigh.
@SFHC
Which is pretty standard for this lot, really. I personally rate it as not at all unlikely that it was an ideological ally of Breivik and his sort who did it.
Violet the Vile,
Not to mention that the worst bombing Britain ever had was by the Nazis. So it’s more than a little ironic that neo-Nazis are pretending to be upset on their behalf over this.
So, apparently ISIS has now taken credit for the attack.
The (2nd? 3rd?) crappiest thing about Day is that he has all these seditious calls for uprising/ethnic cleansing whilst enjoying la dolce vita in Florence. If this isn’t a blatant case of “let’s him and you fight,” I don’t know what is.
I think the voxman pops a boner every time there’s a terrorist attack. He loves the chance to write this blood and soil shit.
As well they should. That is exactly what Hope’s beautiful elder daughter is for.
I’ve seen some far right trolls blame not just Islam but liberals. “They’re the ones who want to let them in in their masses! They have blood on their hands!”
Every time there is a shooting or terroristic act by a white male, we should write articles demanding that they all be deported or imprisoned. It’s the same logic.
I put on my hazmat suit and went to Voxman’s site. He has now doubled down on his Nordic mancrush with a new post titled Mailvox: Breivik: saint or monster?
In it, he defends Breivik and his “legacy” from one of his Norwegian fans who believes that idolizing Breivik is inappropriate. Here’s a stomach-churning quote from his encomium:
In conclusion: Fuck you, Theodore Beale, you vile excrescence.
Exactly who the right considers to be responsible for this is interesting. The right does everything it can to stay in the spotlight, twirling a sword and talking about how everyone but them (But especially non-white people) should die, and occasionally reaching out and stabbing people in the audience. But no, it’s not the people threatening immigrants to blame if brown people reach the conclusion America hates them (By how we don’t stop the right), and accordingly IS finds it much easier to recruit and escalate the situation.
No, it’s all the fault of the people who are de-escalating the situation. As we all know, when situations escalate, the amount of violence does not increase.
I don’t even have the spoons to appropriately respond to Manchester. But at this point, I consider it just as likely the right is responsible as any other explanation.
THIS!!!
And the (patriarchial) deity which they call by different names is, in both cases, the god of Abraham… yeah, the same Abraham and, by extension, the same deity…
