While the rest of the Western world grapples with the horror of the Manchester bombing, Reddit’s incels are looking back three years to another terrorist massacre — and lauding the angry young incel who carried it out.
It’s been three years since a disturbed loner named Elliot Rodger murdered six and injured fourteen others in an extended rampage in Isla Vista, California, leaving behind a series of videos and a book-length manifesto detailing his deep hatred of, and equally intense desire for, women. Had he been able to get inside the sorority that was his primary intended target, the carnage would have likely been far worse.
Naturally, many of Reddit’s incels — self-described “involuntary celibates” — have embraced Rodger as an incel hero. In a series of posts in the Incels subreddit today, the regulars are celebrating what they call “Saint Elliot’s Day.”
In one thread with several dozen upvotes titled “Happy Saint Elliot’s day! The third anniversary of the day of retribution!” numerous Reddit incels sing the praises of the man they hail as the “supreme gentleman.”
A Redditor called thebillstone really, really wishes that Rodger had been able to get inside that sorority.
Naturally, some visitors to the subreddit are appalled by the celebration of a murderer:

But in fact not all incels think Rodger was a hero. Some are appalled to see fellow incels lionizing a mass killer — something that, at the very least, makes incels look bad.

Others look down on Rodger because his body count wasn’t higher, and not enough of his victims were women.
Still others complain that Rodger was simply too good-looking to be a true incel.
The Incels subreddit may be the scariest place on Reddit.

The cognitive dissonance going on here is amazing. And, as other people have already pointed out, they aren’t involuntarily celibate – they are voluntarily celibate because they fucking hate women and wish them dead and believe in rampant bullshit like ‘the friend zone.’
Oh they are covering the Manchester attack in at least two threads. After all, the deaths of all those ‘future Staceys’ isn’t something you get to celebrate everyday. Someone did suggest that perhaps murdering children might be bad even if they were Staceys. But his (ex?*) incel brethren soon called out his ‘white knighting’ ass. After all, what’s the suffering of bereaved families and seriously injured children compared to the pain of being incel?

So, fuck these guys who are “involuntarily” celibate because the only acceptable woman is a slim young beauty.

These asswipes should be called not “incels”, but DEScels, because they DESERVE to be celibate against their wishes. Anyone who’d idolize a Ted Bundy or an Elliot Rodger is someone who should never be within a mile of any woman EVER.

The Bundy comment made me roll my eyes so hard, I’m pretty sure I pulled a muscle. Kimberly Leach was a real stuck-up yuppie at age twelve, I’m sure. Jesus Christ.
I’d think these dipshits would hate Bundy, since he was decent-looking and very successful, as it’s called, with women. He was a master manipulator who fooled almost everyone into thinking he was a nice, normal man, until the evidence couldn’t be denied.

I think it’s worth mentioning that therapy can he expensive if you can’t afford insurance or simply don’t have the right insurance. Their problem isn’t their lack of social skills, their “approachability” or anything associated with disabled or mentally ill folk, it’s their misogyny.
Plenty of them look “normal”, talk “normal” and act “normal”. They’re just so entitled they get angry at women for not being interested. It’s male rage amplified to eleven.
Look, I’m autistic and went through a period of being very afraid that I would end up all alone in the world. And I think that fear was justified, given that autistic people consistently have less social connections and the societal benefits that come from that than neurotypicals. But as sad and afraid as I was and sometimes am, I don’t feel like I’m entitled to others. I don’t feel rage at the idea of another person existing for their own agency.

I suppose some of them could be at the FBI, though realistically, male government employees are going to be interacting with women, minorities, other forms of person, every day. Just sheer exposure is going to be problematic for them, I imagine. People can certainly hold a bunch of wacko beliefs – they show up in some of our staff surveys – but I’ve only sensed outright aggression from a couple of people.
I’m in a Federal organisation with an unusually skewed gender ratio towards male and while there’s some subtle idiocy, even here you need to be able to interact with women. For that matter, you need to be able to interact with women in the military who may hold quite high ranks.

As long as you’re white you too can squat on federal property, have an armed insurrection AND STILL get more peaceful tactics and get off with mild charges. The way these “men” talk with glee imagining if Elliot had gotten into the sorority house. Daydreaming about how the parents of slain sorority girls would have felt. Could you imagine how these “men” would treat a daughter. I used to naively think that if a misogynistic man had a daughter that he would somehow wake up and see the error of his ways. In some instances this does occur, but quite often they just end up having a very convenient female victim at home to abuse at will. If they have a son they end up teaching him how to hate women.
The only reassuring thought I can come up with is that they are celibate (hopefully forever) and therefore (fingers crossed) will not reproduce.
