Andrea “JudgyBitch” Hardie dons Nazi t-shirt in an attempt to prove who the hell knows what

Hey, look at meeee!

Apparently our old friend Andrea “JudgyBitch” Hardie — oft-banned antifeminist Twitter “activist” and alt-right hanger-on — was once again feeling a bit ignored by the internet, so she bought herself a Nazi t-shirt and made a lovely video.

Despite the video’s deliberately provocative title (“Hello Fourth Reich!”), this is one of the duller “provocative” videos you’re likely to encounter on the YouTubes — at least until Hardie puts on her swastika t-shirt roughly three-quarters of the way in.

Hardie begins the video wearing a different t-shirt entirely — one adorned with the Rising Sun flag of Imperial Japan. Over the course of the first half of the video she offers a rambling, ignorant and often nonsensical take on the issue of populism — or at least the oversimplified and completely ahistorical caricature of populism she’s got bouncing around in her head.

Her main point, insofar as she has one, seems to be that anyone who’s critical of the current outbreak of “populism” is “sneering at the idea that common, ordinary, everyday people are the best people to identify what the problems in their own lives are.”

Well, no. Demagogues like Donald Trump and Marine Le Pen may claim the label of populism, but they are in fact racist right-wing autocrats who really aren’t much interested in democracy at all. “Populism” has, historically, always had a dark nativist streak to it, suffused with anti-Semitism and what historian Richard Hofstadter called the “paranoid style” of politics.

But let’s not linger too long on the history of actual populism, because we haven’t even gotten to the real point of the video, which is that Nazi t-shirt.

Hardie starts the t-shirt portion of the video by pretending to be shocked that the Rising Sun t-shirt she’s wearing isn’t likely to elicit the same outrage as a t-shirt festooned with a swastika — even though the Japanese military forces flying that flag did all sorts of truly horrible shit over the course of many years, from the Rape of Nanking to Pearl Harbor.

But those who wear Rising Sun t-shirts in public aren’t generally going to get accused of supporting any of these terrible things. To most people, Hardie declares, the Rising Sun is nothing more than a “fun meme,” and it turns out that’s just fine with her.

“What i want to know,” she asks, “why is this shirt ok, why is the Rising Sun ok, but” — she dons her Nazi t-shirt — “this shirt is not?”

This is a question that could actually lead to an interesting discussion. Why is the Rising Sun, at least here in North America, seen by most though definitely not all people as a rather innocent cultural symbol — much as the Confederate flag was back in the day when it flew unprotested from every southern state capital and adorned the top of the Dukes of Hazzard’s beloved creek-jumping car? Will perceptions of the Rising Sun change, much as they have for the Confederate flag?

But instead Hardie offers a rambling rant even more incoherent than the rant on populism in the first chunk of her video.

After informing us that the Nazis “were socialists; hey Bernie Sanders, hi” she indignantly asks why it’s considered “not ok” for people to wear Nazi shirts, so much so that YouTube probably “won’t let me monetize this video because of this shirt.”

Maybe because most people rightly connect Nazi symbolism with the Nazis and their hateful history? Maybe because virtually everyone who adorns themselves with Nazi symbols is either an actual Nazi or some other related kind of hateful shit? (Or perhaps the ghost of Sid Vicious.)

But Hardie has another theory, albeit one that makes no fucking sense whatsoever: Apparently people get mad about swastikas because they want to demonize true populists who stand up for the people! By “weaponizing the swastika” these evil liberal lefty anti-populists try to make ordinary people look bad!

I’m not even going to try to transcribe this portion of Hardie’s rant; I’m afraid it might damage my brain. Just watch. The video below should start at the beginning of her, er, explanation, a little more than 15 minutes in. Watch for the next two minutes or so, if you can manage it. Feel free to stop when she starts talking about Pepe the frog. Or if your head literally explodes.

https://youtu.be/A3Qi8VKb_dI?t=15m17s

Shortly after her Pepe digression, Hardie informs her viewers that

everyone, at the end of the day, is a stupid violent brute. Everyone. Violence is the only truth.

Huh. That sounds an awful lot like something a Nazi would say.

The only question to her is who controls this violence — evil leftists who actually hate the people, or

the common ordinary people who think, you know what, some of us is dumb assholes and, you know what, those are the first ones we’re gonna shoot. The people have a unique way of taking care of business.

That’s human history. That’s all of human history.

Er, there are are forms of government that don’t involve whatever group is in power just going out and shooting everyone they don’t like.

And all the swastikas in the world aren’t going to change that.

No. They’re going to make that sort of thing more likely. That’s why most people FUCKING HATE NAZIS. That’s why people tend to get mad when idiots put on Nazi shirts and make videos defending other idiots who put on Nazi shirts.

If you need to clear your head a little after watching that video, this might help.

Like animal rights, I think sometimes you get people who are more motivated by the opportunity to fight than the cause itself. […]

The people who escalate the issue aren’t necessarily the ones who face the consequences.

Additionally, it means you have a bunch of people who don’t have qualms with (or actively enjoy) using violence and being destructive, and don’t really care if they harm the cause or its people.

Example: Local antifa (Vancouver) recently did a bunch of “ANTIFA ZONA” graffiti in our low-income downtown area… much of which landed on minority-owned businesses.

Another: A trans PoC friend of mine got assaulted at an ostensibly “safe space” venue by an antifa member (who apparently has a history of being a violent shit), and the local group refused to take any steps towards accountability. The group wouldn’t even speak to my friend about the incident at all; only his cis male partner.

Re the antifa: so long as they don’t kill anybody, they are morally superior to the Klan and the neonazis, who have killed people. It’s that simple.

I agree with what Alan says about violence being neutral, so long as it’s limited to violence that everyone can (eventually) walk away from. Killing, on the other hand, is wrong. As far as I know, nobody has been killed by the antifa, so they’re all right in my book. If that changes, then my stance will also change.

Yes. People who decide to use violence are not necessarily the ones who end up facing the most consequences for it. Also antifa is leaderless, so there’s no accountability for people’s behavior other than getting arrested, etc.

Plus it’s attractive to people like sexual predators or violent people because there’s no “membership” screening.

Then again, and while there is some abuses by antifas, they are relatively rare, doubly so when considering how often it happen with neonazis and all.

I don’t believe violence is neutral, but I do know not everything is gained via pacifism. Also, pacifism is often more dangerous than violence for their wielder. That’s why violent protestors exist, and they aren’t automatically a “problem for their causes”.

Hoo boy.

We have another lying sack of shit pretender her in Linax54.

Linax. Fuck off. You’re a standard boilerplate bigot, and pretending you are an arab-asian woman living in Europe to lend gravitas to your stream if consciousness bullshit stinks.

Fuck off.

We have also done workshops on the 8 Stages of Genocide, and the Rwandan genocide as well.

How I wish genocide and discrimination and dehumanization were taught in US schools! It should be taught at least twice, once as kids, and again as older teens or young adults (I certainly didn’t grok scapegoating on the society level until I was an adult and saw it for myself). Required. I mean, yes, we learn about them, but not as their own topics; no one knows about Allport’s Scale (I didn’t even learn about that until a ‘Minorities in Society’ sociology class in college), or the stages of genocide, etc. People don’t know squat about universal human rights.

When people say stuff like ‘Islam is cancer,’ they don’t see any connection to the language of genocide. People keep putting more stock in labels and vague associations than in substance and actions and the specific justifications/beliefs that lead to the evils they abhor (thus, “it’s okay if we do it because we’re the good guys doing it to bad guys”).

Because everyone thinks *their* discrimination, their ethnic cleansing, etc. is justified. Why.can’t.we.learn.?!

Im aware you will delete my comment because of your feelings, shows how much YOU like democracy and free speech.

Come down off your cross, you self-aggrandizing martyr. There are your odious words, for everyone to see.

You have your free speech, but you’re not immune from the consequences of it. Grow up.

Linax, free speech means that the government can’t censor your speech. David is a private individual running a private website, and he doesn’t have to give you a platform – he’s well within his rights to delete your comment, should he choose to.

There are plenty of other websites where your views on Islam will be welcomed. If you don’t like any of those websites for any reason, you can start your own – and if someone posts comments you disagree with on your website, you’re well within your rights to delete them. That’s what free speech means.

Nah, Linax, that’s a funny little picture of Germany in your head, not even close.

How do you live “around refugees”? That is not as easy as it sounds, as the houses and facilities where asylum seekers live are mostly out somewhere in uncomfortable areas, for political reasons. The (bad) idea behind it has always been to keep them away from German people, culture and language as long as possible, in order to be able to “send them back easily” if it turns out that they don’t get official refugee status.

Most requests for asylum are declined, by the way, some of them after years of waiting. Did you know that our government has recently declared Afghanistan a “safe country of origin” ?
So, if you don’t actively seek out refugees, how do you even find them? And how do you recognize them, do you ask everyone for their document?

And what do you mean by all the crimes you are talking about? Of course it is easier for an asylum seeker to commit crimes than for the rest of the population – like being in a different city without permission from authorities – because they have extra special laws! Is that what you are talking about?

Try again.

ETA: if we take them into the country, they are not illegal. Don’t confuse your different groups of ungrateful Auslaenders.

This post may contain sarcasm.

I dunno if Super-David is super fast or if I finally evolved a vision that cannot see fascists, but I don’t see the posts of Linax.

Then again, it seem I lose nothing from not seeing them.

@Ohlman: they’re pretty high up, just before Troubelles post, but they made it through moderation shortly after I posted last.

Actually, I’d be really interested in your take on that comment, as (if memory serves) you’re actually in France or Germany, right?

weirwoodtreehugger: chief manatee

The unironic use of the word ‘degenerate’ is a pretty big troll tell. I only ever see white nationalists using it.

Plus, Judgybitch posts tend to attract a lot of trolls. She and/or her fans must monitor us for mentions of her. Anytime someone claims to have been formerly sympathetic to feminism until they came across us and how horrible we are, I always give it a side eye but that goes double on JB threads.

Then..why are you telling us? Seems like it’d be easier on your “arabic/asian girl” (*snicker*) hands if you talked through your inadequacies in front of the mirror instead of typing all that out.

Makes me question your ‘German’ efficiency…

Oh. Actually it was still there, just out of view.

As a french, not a lot to add apart from “stinking pile of bullshit”. That person never ever have interacted with a muslim and it show. I live basically in what fox news would call a sharia zone, which mean that christians only outnumber the muslim by 2 to 1 or so. Since it’s the legendary welcoming France, almost none of the arabs/blacks/non-white are actually immigrant, just second or third generation french. The vast majority of them are undistinguishable from the average lowly paid individual, and tend to be helpful, if reserved and not particulary outgoing.

There is several bands of obnoxious young men who are aggressive, obnoxious, and quite likely unemployed or small time thiefs. They aren’t white skinned, drink beers all the time, and nothing hint to them actually being religious. So I guess our fascist would say of them that they are dangerous islamic terrorist, while I think they are just victims of poverty.

Also, a big majority of the black one are christian. My city have a cathedral, the last cathedral built in France IIRC, and while its populaiton is a touch whiter than the commute, it’s not by much.

“Islam is the most woman hating thing ever existed and islamic cultures AND ITS PEOPLE are backwards”

You’re right, much of fundementalist Islam is deeply sexist and backwards. You will notice that this statement produces exactly no controversy here. That’s because feminists “suck Muslim dick” as you say because they refuse to judge/stereotype entire groups of people based upon the actions of *part* of that group.

And I’m out before you say “but what about the feminist demonization of ALL menz”? Because I’m willing to bet that you are THAT ignorant about feminism.

@ troubelle

I swear to God I can feel the back of the root of one of my teeth with my tongue.

Do you mean you can feel a new bump in your gums or something? If so, that’s not necessarily anything to worry about. But it could be the start of an abscess and you don’t want that. A prophylactic method is to get a cup of hot water and dissolve some salt into it. Basically you want the water as hot as you can stand and as salty as you can manage without throwing up. Then you swill for as long as you can bear around the affected area. That way, if you’ve got any gaps allowing an infection to develop this acts as an antiseptic and can nip it in the bud.
