Alt-Right Twitter trolls lament Marine Le Pen’s yuge loss in France, talk armed revolution

The mood on alt-right Twitter right now

In the wake of Emmanuel Macron’s yuge victory over his Nazi-lite opponent Marine Le Pen, the mood on Alt-Right Twitter is rather delightfully (to me) grim.

Indeed, more than a few Alt-Right Nazis and their fellow travelers reacted as if someone close to them had died ignominiously like Hitler in his bunker.

Others were more pissy than sad:

Some resorted to conspiracy theories to explain Macron’s lopsided victory:

https://twitter.com/ReyFloresUSA/status/861313590267129858

https://twitter.com/JoeThoughtful/status/861291871917625345

More than a few lashed out at supporters of Macron, and French people in general.

https://twitter.com/LawDog_Emeritus/status/861292350743728128

There were more than a few predictions of imminent disaster:

https://twitter.com/metacriteria/status/861297338878496769

https://twitter.com/MikeEnochTRS/status/861290746279841792

For some, the election results showed that Alt-Rightists need to abandon whatever sliver of faith in democracy they still hold on to, and possibly start up some kind of Alt-Right freikorps.

Huh, you reject one little fascist and suddenly all the condolences for the Charlie Hebdo, Paris and Nice attacks just evaporate. Interesting how that shakes out. It’s almost as if disingenuous right-wingers weeping those crocodile tears didn’t really care about the people and just wanted an excuse to hurt Muslims.

And of course any thrashing alt-righter (read: neo-Nazi) has to dip into the anti-Semitism well. Par for the course at this point. It’s like a 21st Century Dreyfuss affair. I must admit, seeing Carl’s mask slip off by dropping the “R” word kinda surprised me… he’s typically more careful to keep up the pretense of plausible deniability.

I’m not going to say I’m really a fan of Macron or neoliberalism in general. It’s clear there’s some sort of agenda to undermine democracy through corporate control and undemocratic international organizations (essentially “fascism” without the racist or nationalist components).

But the alt-right’s major problem with that is that they aren’t the “elites” undermining democracy and controlling people’s lives. They have a “globalist agenda” also, and it’s worse than status quo neoliberalism and trade deals.

There is no reason to celebrate, 33% are way too much.
The pen isn’t a member of a major party and the last FN canditate in 2002 got a measly 18%, the pen has nearly twice as much.
Let’s hope we can chalk this all up to economy, because the development is frightening.

I can’t really comment on this without breaching the site rules, and possibly the law of the land.

Was hoping to find this gem in there, from a UK account, if nothing else because it’s gloriously inept and butthurt all at once.

Addendum:
Economy and all those terror attacks in France.
They probably helped pencil at least somewhat.
About the state election in Germany some where mentioning:
AfD got 5% in a traditionally left-wing state, which is also not good.
They will certainly get into the parliament in September.
But as soon as the refugee thing dies down they will probably end up like the Germany’s Green party nearly did, and Germany won’t suddenly unite with Austria to save the AfD’s neck.

That is such good news. Germany is the one I was worried about.

We do have our problematic states, where people are poor and not that well-educated and there are towns where you can’t say anything nazi critical and still be safe, but on the bigger scale (and luckily in my state), the afd just doesn’t stand a chance. We don’t want them and quite frankly, they’re not good at swaying people to their side. They’re flinging mud at each other and breaking their mask too often.

In related news. They recently had two leaders on stage, a guy who is massively anti-gay (as is the whole party) and next to him…. A lesbian woman.
And of course they want women bred and in the kitchen… But one of their main leaders is…. A woman.

I’m astonished again and again how these people manage to live in such utter denial.

David Futrelle,

I would really like to see the alt right losers try to violently overthrow the French government. While the French Military may not be anywhere near as gnarly as the American Military, it would still slaughter them as they try to “liberate” the French people from themselves.

David Futrelle,

Oh and they think France is an “Islamic State now?” Never mind that most French people aren’t even Muslims, and sharia is not going to implemented in France anytime soon.

I may be nitpicking here, but still:

Europe will have a violent civil war.

Firstly, I’d guess that any civil war is bound to be violent, because it’s war and being violent is what wars do.

Secondly, did they turn Europe into a country or France into Europe and I missed the memo? I’m always confused about EU-level politics, but I think they’d have told us that much.

They don’t know shit about Europa, so they suppose it’s a continent-sized country, like the USA.

Which is ironic because a lot of country, France included, are closer to fracturate into smaller entities more than anything else.

I don’t see what rules you could have broken, and you may have given David the subject for his next blog post here. He loves to expose racist misogynistic idiots like them.

By the way, next time, instead linking directly to disgusting racists websites like that, try using things like “Do Not Link” or “Archive. Is”

Do Not Link
https://donotlink.it/

Archive.Is
https://archive.is/

That way you will not be increasing traffic to the site and making it appear more often as the first thing people come across in a search engines.

In that respect its a lot like our secessionist wingnuts wish America would be.

Just keep it in mind for next time, alright? Try “wanker” if you want to keep the first letter and the nature of being a trochee.

Yeah, Nazis do that. It’s puzzling how they think that we don’t notice them when they talk to one another.

I’ve discussed moving to Germany if Brexit goes badly. A lot of academics seem to be doing it. I’m glad to hear that it’s in a better state than Britain is.

@EJ (TOO), re: wanker for…well

I’m pretty sure I’m just regurgitating the results of this happening elsewhere. I believe Alan’s the one who originally proposed that usage.

Then again, memory of things past certainly doesn’t hurt the present.

Anyone know what’s up with imgur lately? Whenever I link to an imgur pic it won’t show up on my laptop, even though it’s there on mobile. Also, it won’t give me those short and snappy URLs anymore.
