I’m honestly not sure if anyone tried to keep statistics on rape until maybe the 70s or 80s. At least that’s about the oldest I’ve ever seen. Admittedly, I haven’t researched the history of keeping rape statistics. Arrest and conviction data is probably easy enough to find, but crime victimization surveys are a pretty new thing I think.
