Idiots, douchebags and idiotic douchebags defend Bill O’Reilly on Twitter

Bill O: He will be missed. By assholes.

As every single person on your Twitter timeline has no doubt informed you by now, the execrable Bill O’Reilly is finally — finally! — out at Fox News. Not everyone is happy with this development.

Here’s a roundup of some of what Bill’s fans are saying on Twitter about the ouster, which they variously blame on “libtards,” communists, Jews, George Soros, Barack Obama, the Saudis, and of course the “leftist whores” and “sluts” and “lying bitches” who accused Mr. O’Reilly of sexual harassment in the first place.

If you look closely at the tweets below, you may notice a cameo appearance by the former host of Love Connection.

Whatever one might say about Mr. O’Reilly, he certainly seems to have precisely the sort of fans he deserves.

Besides, doesn’t that title just BEG for parody, and mockery? “A Pungent Fresh Piece of Dogshit”, anyone? I’m sure there are people with more talent than I have, in this area.

@SFHC

Heh. I like it!

Sure sounds like Bill could be described as “fresh”, though not in the sense the word was used in his book.

John Oliver played a sex scene from the audiobook recently.

Say baby, put down that pipe and get MY pipe UP!

That particular line is from a scene with a black crack dealer getting two underage girls addicted to crack. Because of course.

Most of the book isn’t about sex, it’s about a blatant Bill O’Reilly analogue murdering analogues of people he felt wronged him over his career. And yet, the sex scenes are more disturbing than the murders.

Someone put a few clips to a slow jam if you want to hear Bill say “I would like you to unhook your bra and let it slide down your arms, you can leave your shirt on” or “I wish I were a lesbian.”

If that’s not enough creepy Bill for you, there’s the details of one of the cringiest settlements Bill made. You can read the whole lawsuit but the key takeaway is he thinks a falafel is part of a loofah, which led to him saying he wanted to rub falafel on Andrea Mackris’ genitals during a phone call as part of his campaign of sexual harassment against her. And she recorded it.

ETA:

I would like you to unhook your bra and let it slide down your arms, you can leave your shirt on

This is the least seductive line in all of fiction, and hearing Billo say it is just amazing. He uses the same tone he uses to read the news. As disgusting as it is, it’s hilarious and worth listening to.

Well, 30 seconds of life I won’t get back.

He seems to understand bras as well as he understands middle eastern bean fritters and exfoliating shower scrubbers.

It’s kind of silly for him to write such terrible fiction, but I’m not going to get too worked up about him reading from it.

My disgust is reserved for the harm done by his show over these past 20 years or so and for his actions against the women who were unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of his harassment.

In the clip John Oliver played ( of BO’R reading his own sex scene) the protagonist brings a woman to climax – twice! in the space of a single sentence, by “kneading her skin…with his tongue”.

Most definitely a man very, very familiar with the female orgasm. You can just tell.

Sexy.

Once for a college paper I checked books by O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and some other right-wing hacks less famous (I think there was a booklet called The Coming Collision which was down-right scary for how much the author hoped for war to break out; not very different from the Neo-Nazis in the news and in hindsight reminds me of Vox Day in tone). O’Reilly’s book was the most mild, which made it the most disgusting in some ways; the way he presented a hypothetical future where a (lesbian?) Latina was US president in a calm, dry tone without overt condemnation, like he was just stating something that could one day happen. Yet it was calculated to terrify and enrage his readers, subtly warning them about how his made-up future president would stick to her values as much as he sticks to his, and that a fight against her would be very long and difficult.

I didn’t like him before, but after reading that I’ve been hoping for years that he could fall from grace. I’m so glad to see this dipshit gone.

I noticed 6oodfella, who I remember from Kevin Logan’s “The Descent of Man-O-Sphere”:

https://youtu.be/TE2bkQmgRRU

I almost hate him on the lone fact he uses concept art from GTA: Vice City as an avatar…

It also never ceases to both amaze and disgust me how – when it comes to sexual harassment, assault, and rape – people support the perpetrator from the outset and constantly scrutinize the person who made the accusation. Again, I don’t see this done with the majority of cases involving murder or larceny or arson yet a woman gets sexually assaulted or raped and the response is basically “but what if she did something to deserve it?!”

Y’know, at least with larceny, the person who might be committing it is doing so out of economic necessity – that doesn’t excuse the act but it’s understandable why someone might steal when they’re that desperate. Sexual violence though? There’s no understandable reason behind it. Someone not committing rape doesn’t negatively affect the perpetrator in any way, they can easily not do such but choose to anyway.

Maybe they’ll use BYO-TROOF as an excuse, but I’m pretty we don’t run around naked in the jungle communicating through grunts these days. We’re obviously able to compose ourselves and not entirely driven by instinct as a species – but, time and time again, there’re those who’ll defend the indefensible with their appeal to nature bullshit. All while at the same time patting themselves on the back for somehow being more “rational” and “logical” and “objective” than all those hysterical wimmin-folk, unable to realize the inherent hypocrisy in that…

Let’s all take a moment to consider the plight of Rupert Murdoch. He spent decades laying the groundwork for the fascist ascendancy; and now that it’s finally happened, they’ve decided they don’t need him any more.

Unfortunately, this was not about Billo being an awful human being. It was all about the Benjamins. Major advertisers were fleeing Talking Points. The fans were not moving, he actually added some more viewers.

Why were the advertisers leaving? Why, because they did not want to associate their brands with billy, because he’d finally become a human being who was just too awful. So yes, that is exactly what it is about.

No, it was because they were being protested.

And the point is that the advertisers didn’t want to associate with Billo. FOX news still did.

Yes, that’s how the advertisers discovered that he was someone they probably shouldn’t be associated with. Any why was he being protested? I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that it wasn’t because he’s too much of a decent, reasonable and polite guy to be on the fox network.

And the point is that the advertisers didn’t want to associate with Billo. FOX news still did.

The point I was responding to was from James’ post and I clearly quoted it in my response. Let me repeat it for you here, to make it extra clear.

Unfortunately, this was not about Billo being an awful human being

Yes. Yes it was.

C’mon, what harm is a little fun between a red-blooded American boy and his colleagues!

Okay, it was all one-sided fun. But guys have hormones. They have needs. And those needs must be fulfilled or they’ll burst or something.

Stop picking on BO’Re!

Ailes, O’Reilly…who else is at it?

For me, that’s the most pertinent question. The culture at Fox does seem to be one of elderly, lecherous blokes being allowed to do whatever the hell they like, until public outrage builds to a point where the bottom line is threatened.

Will the Murdochs scrub down the actual culture at Fox? Because there’s obviously something seriously wrong. If young women keep coming forward and telling the media that this presenter or that executive groped/harrassed them, Rupes and Co. may have no choice but to clean house.

Betrayer

Let me repeat it for you, since you still don’t seem to get the point being made.

Unfortunately, this was not about Billo being an awful human being

Yes. Yes it was.

No. No it wasn’t. Not to FOX news. Not even to most of the advertisers who dropped him.

He was fired because consumers were reminded that O’Reilly sexually assaults people (this was public knowledge since 2004), consumers were upset, they complained to advertisers and threatened boycotts, advertisers asked that their ads air at a different time on FOX (despite the narrative presented they didn’t really pull most ads), FOX fired him.

If the exact same chain of events happened but consumers were upset about something else, there would have been the exact same result. The news mentioning that Bill is a garbage person might have started things this time, but it wasn’t something anyone other than the consumers actually cared about or used as reasoning for their actions.

Hell, if people were protesting because he did something decent like arguing Planned Parenthood should be funded, he would have been fired even faster. If anything, Bill being awful made it harder to get him fired.

Bill got his job because he is an awful human being. He kept his job because he is an awful human being. He got good ratings because he is an awful human being. FOX loved that he was an awful human being. That’s why they paid millions in settlements for him.

Yes, everyone knows the protests were a result of Bill being awful. Thanks for explaining that anyway. The point we are making is that none of the corporate execs cared – particularly not at FOX. And businesses not caring if someone is a sexual predator is a really bad thing, a much larger problem than Bill O’Reilly finally facing the consequences for his actions.

So no. Him being fired really wasn’t because he’s an awful human being. Not directly. That’s the cloud inside this silver lining.

Pie, Betrayer:
Can I try to broker a peace here?
Can I suggest a compromise position:
that the increasing awareness about the awfulness of BO’Re, and the shift from that awfulness being a financial benefit to being a financial liability, are both good signs, and we can just love and support both of them?
