Idiots, douchebags and idiotic douchebags defend Bill O’Reilly on Twitter

Bill O: He will be missed. By assholes.

As every single person on your Twitter timeline has no doubt informed you by now, the execrable Bill O’Reilly is finally — finally! — out at Fox News. Not everyone is happy with this development.

Here’s a roundup of some of what Bill’s fans are saying on Twitter about the ouster, which they variously blame on “libtards,” communists, Jews, George Soros, Barack Obama, the Saudis, and of course the “leftist whores” and “sluts” and “lying bitches” who accused Mr. O’Reilly of sexual harassment in the first place.

If you look closely at the tweets below, you may notice a cameo appearance by the former host of Love Connection.

Whatever one might say about Mr. O’Reilly, he certainly seems to have precisely the sort of fans he deserves.

If anyone hasn’t heard of “Those Who Trespass” before, I suggest listening to this review of Bill’s revenge/sex fantasies.

And yes, O’Reilly read the audiobook version himself. A few years back someone bought a copy and posted some of the good clips, but that is no longer online. It needs to happen again.

Funny story. I was visiting my mom one day and she shows me an article by Toronto Star entertainment columnist Vinay Menon: https://www.thestar.com/entertainment/music/2014/10/11/how_bad_is_nickelback_try_the_24hour_headphone_test_menon.html

Basically, he listened to all the Nickelback albums on repeat for 24 hours and concluded that all Nickelback songs were the same poorly-produced bar-rock and I had to agree. So while I was helping her clean up the basement, she brought down her laptop and asked me to play some, so I fired up a YouTube playlist and we conducted a mini version of Menon’s experiment.

We both realized when we got to Photograph that the songs were starting to blend together in our heads: Kroeger’s overwrought choruses could easily be picked up and dropped into another “melody” (for lack of a better word) and work just as well. Our conclusion was that Nickelback had at most two songs: Bland bar-rock like “Too Late” or “Because of You” and sentimental ballads like “Someday” or “Savin’ Me.” I kid you not, when “Savin’ Me” came up, I thought it was “Someday” until it hit the chorus because Kroeger’s monotonous drone sounded exactly the same!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved it in 2001 when Silver Side Up was making the rounds all over Canada and “How You Remind Me” was all over the radio, but The Long Road was just more of the same only with even dumber lyrics.

TL;DR — Listen to Matthew Good for a better Western Canada rock experience.

@Gussie Jives “Photograph” is a much better song if you just belt out “What the hell’s on Joey’s head?” for each and every stanza.

Apparently this summer there’s going to be a team-up of Grumpy Cat and Garfield.
