Antifeminism and white supremacy: Joined at the hip for more than a century

Not sure that portraying the woman voter here as a total badass really helped the antifeminist argument, but whatev

Men’s Rights Activists, and anti-feminists generally, are forever warning anyone who will listen that excessive feminism could, any day now, bring about the end of western civilization itself.

This is not a terribly new or original idea. And a post on Nazified pickup artist blog Chateau Heartiste today reminds us just how old and unoriginal this notion is.

The proprietor of that blog, James “Heartiste” Weidmann, brings his readers’ attention to a lengthy quotation from a 1911 book by a fellow named Octavius Beale.

[U]nreasonable demands for exaggerated “rights ” of women will always find a limit in the fact that the majority of men will constantly prefer for wives those who do not claim such rights, but who rather seek their happiness in cultivating and developing their specially feminine virtues and attributes, apart from any aim at equality with men.

Take that, feminist cat ladies with no husbands!

These attributes will also therefore be preferably inherited, whilst the extreme tendencies of the women’s rights movement will usually not come into heredity, but will constantly tend to die out.

Well, he was half right. Feminism did die out, for a time, but then it came back.

Notwithstanding, should woman-rule —contrary to all expectations— become so strong in any single State that it will be able to enforce all its demands, even the most extreme, that result could only be possible where the men are completely degenerated.

Degenerated, huh? Can you see where this is going?

Such a nation would soon be supplanted and dissolved by healthier peoples, who might, perhaps, stand on a lower scale of culture.

I believe he is referring to what the Nazis of today like to call “white genocide.” Back in 1911, Beale called it “Racial Decay” — which was in fact the title of his book.

Amazing how quickly and easily Beale slid from antifeminism to white supremacy. Just as so many antifeminists do today.

Heartiste follows up Beale’s dire, racist warning with a dire, racist warning of his own.

After declaring “equalism” to be “a corruption of civilized man’s soul,” he tries his best to rally the troops in defense of their white “tribe.”

[F]emcuntery will only achieve wrecking power in a nation of degenerated men unable and unwilling to act to preserve their culture and protect their tribe. Women are followers and will follow their nation right into the abyss if it guarantees their social standing among peers; as I’ve been saying, it’ll take shitlord men with big balls to bring their women to heel and their nation back to greatness.

Heartiste, seriously, no one wants to hear about your balls.

So what you’re saying is you’re comparing a job that no longer exists with a job that only exists because of modern science? Smrat!

Hello, trolley troll troll!

Alive and breathing aspiring female doctor here, how are you? Is the patriarchy keeping women from working stem jobs? Well, I don’t know, let’s ignore the countless data and articles about that and work with personal life experiences, as you do, shall we?

So, I want to be an MD pretty much every since I was 5. And it made complete sense, considering I always liked human anatomy, helping people, was always good with my hands, and had impeccable grades. My brother, just to take a male example I know well, he never had good grades, never had career aspirations, he is a kind person who would gladly never even go to college.

Every since I was 5, people tried to convince me to be a vet, a nurse, a model, a volleyball player (I can’t even play volleyball?!), everything but doctor. Why? Because it’s too difficult, it takes too long, my family can’t afford it, when will I get married, because, quoting my mother “a woman without children is like a dead tree without fruits”. When I was from 13 to 16, I had a male math teacher who frequently said in class that boys should help girls in his class because women are biologically wired not to be good in maths. The top students in his class were me and a female friend, and we constantly pointed out his ridiculous, basic mistakes, which he’d frequently laugh off, until he checked it out. In my preparatory course, there was a teacher who asked questions for the boys and, if they got it right, he’d say to the pretty girl closest to him “See? You should marry him, nurse, he will be a doctor.”

Now, roughly, my parents invested almost double of what they invested in my education in my brother’s, because, quoting my own father, “you are a man, and you will need to provide for your family, so grow up!”.

Most girls I know have a similar experience, including my own mother, who was set to be a chemist but was forced by her then fiancé to be a teacher instead. She liked the profession so much that she worked in it for less than a month. She moved on to be a sales person – job which she had for 30 years in which she worked Sunday to Sunday, ten to twelve hours a day, making less than half of what she could be making as a chemist. I was raised by teenage babysitters and when I was 12 I had to be home alone with my little brother, and take him with me whenever I had to do a school activity out of school hours.

So, you tell me. What is keeping girls from graduating in STEM? I do wonder, it must be because they are so lazy. Because indeed, high pay, non physical professions such as the STEM ones are SO MUCH more difficult, tiring and exhilarating than the ones that don’t need a degree! It’s so much better to barely ever see your children just so they have what to eat than working reasonable hours, having weekends, and putting them in good schools! Wait, I forgot, you just have to divorce and ask for child support, because, indeed, that one third of a minimum salary will have single mothers and their children living like royalty. Which is why rich people die so much sooner, are much more often sick, right?

Also, let’s face it, you don’t think any more of the guy driving the road roller than you do a ditch digger.

Yup. Bog-standard right-libertarian. Has he said taxes are theft yet? I can’t be arsed reading his screeds

@B.S.
Also gonna note that ditch-digging is as essential part of having sewers. And if you want to see people dying in droves, just try having a city without sewers.

Yes white collar jobs are more intellectually and physically demanding than labor jobs. Id love to see construction workers work 80 hour weeks.

Why do you think white collar jobs get paid more? Why is the barrier of entry higher for white collar jobs?

JESUS CHRIST HOW SHELTERED ARE YOU, RICH BOY?! Not everyone is a middle-high class boy living in Americanville, where your teacher knows the realtor of the local college and will get you in because you are suuuuch a good boy.

The majority of people don’t have time or money to study. They have to start working before or just exactly when it starts being legal to help their parents! They go to public school, get changed, then go do a job that will break their fucking backs and soul, they don’t have time or money or even KNOWLEDGE AND STRUCTURE to study for years, then be a non paid worker for years, to only THEN start providing for their family or paying their own bills. In what universe do you live in?! No, seriously, tell me, I want to live there, it sounds wonderful!

Clearly comparing the generation of your mother to now is a good idea. Why dont you go away from your parents and work by yourself.
There are tons of scholarships for people in america if you work hard enough for it and you can get student loans.

No one paid for me I went through college on my own. My mother didnt give a fuck If I studied or not.

Who depends on their parents after they hit 18 years of age? I didnt even have to take any study loans to do it. Be independent.

One of my friends did it shes a woman I dont know why you cant.

LOL rich boy. I love the assumptions.

Sweetheart I came from a lower middle class family no one gave me anything. You do realize that there is something called the internet and google right? You can easily find out the best career paths in seconds.
I worked as a security guard at night while studying fulltime. Dont give me a lecture on working hard while you still live with your fucking parents.

All I hear is excuses. Im not even that special, I am sure there are thousands of people like me. Anyone can find excuses for why they are not successful but not many people are willing to put in the work to be successful.

Yeah Im so thankful that I had to work 80 hour weeks for 4 years to get a good job. Thank you “patriarchy”.

If every woman decides to take 5 hours a week off( statistics show that men on average work 40 minutes a day more.) and if 50 percent of the workers in my company were women, the productivity of the company would decrease by 6 percent. 6 percent does not sound like a lot but when you are a small company, it matters a lot.

The profit margins on average for small businesses are 20 percent. Business is cutthroat, 6 percent can make your clients realize that they can get more bang for the buck if they buy from another company. You know what happens when you lose your clients?

An example of this is, let us suppose you want to buy cars and there are two companies near you. Let us suppose one company is offering a car for 25,000 and another company is offering the same car for 23,500. Where would you buy the car? Now dont forget that youre not the only one that thinks the way you do. Millions of others would rather of buy the car from the second company. Company number one has just lost millions of clients .

Wait, what small company is this one, with millions of clients? Can your arguments remain consistent at least within theirselves?! Also, not necessarily the place with the lowest price gets the client. I say this as active part of my ACTUALLY SMALL family business. We work with leather, and we sell products that compete directly with Chinese products that are sometimes ten times cheaper than what we are selling. Yet, we have way more clients than we can produce to. Why? We win in the quality and salesmanship, which we achieve by choosing workers by hand and treating these workers well. Numbers agree with me: treating workers well and employing people who have trouble finding jobs (elderly, women, single mothers), increases productivity and quality.

Ps: My fiancé wants to be a stay at home dad.

Chiomara,

Well thats great cause luckily your business is not part of the many others that are incredibly price sensitive. Also tell me one thing, if there was a company that sold products of comparable quality to your parent’s company, but was cheaper who do you think customers would go for?

I never said to not treat workers well. Your strategy will not work for most companies.

I work in SAP(it creates custom software for businesses). If they select workers that have trouble finding jobs(in the programming world, talented programmers get snatched up for a lot of money, cause its hard finding talented programmers) the workers are going to do a subpar job, fucking it up with our clients. We would have to rework the code, test the code and resend the code to the client server. Which would take us months and 100s of thousands of dollars.
Not to mention the loss of our reputation and brand.

Good for you chiomara. The majority of my ex’s and my present gf dont.

That’s an interesting rewrite of history.

Anyone else love how Bedsores just happens to know someone that proves his every bullshit opinion? It’s especially interesting because his anecdotes are so short on detail or substance and sound a whole lot like fiction.

I’d also think someone so educated and hardworking who moves in such swanky circles would know basic punctuation rules. Apparently taking an English class is something only lazy females do.

Yeah Im so thankful that I had to work 80 hour weeks for 4 years to get a good job. Thank you “patriarchy”.

If one has to work 80 hours a week to get a decent job, the system is broken. You’re acknowledging that the system sucks. So why are you arguing that people should better conform to a shitty system (or else they’re lazy and stupid) rather than arguing that the system should change?

But please continue saying it’s just laziness.
@weirwoodtreehugger: chief manatee
But you see he made it in the system that means absolutely no one else has any problems with the system.

You seriously think Im going to waste my time creating a perfect sentence on the internet? I could care less.

You know what fuck it, ignore what historians say. The great depression, the 2008 recession EVERYTHING is the fault of rich guys. They are the perfect scape goats arent they. Fuck the fact about most of the middle class spending all their money on appliances and cars resulting in the loss of disposable income. Forget the fact about the middle class buying houses left and right just before the recession and then selling their houses left and right as soon as panic set in, resulting in the bubble bursting wide open and driving the house prices even further down.

Ignore basic economic facts. The retarded middle class can do no wrong.

God its so infuriating. There is nothing wrong with not knowing something as long as you recognize the fact.

A good book that Id recommend is the random walk down wall street by burton malkiel. It even has some pictures in case you dont understand words. It explains all these in detail and its a fun book to read.

Clearly comparing the generation of your mother to now is a good idea.

Sure, nitpick this part of my comment and ignore literally all the fucking rest, where I directly talk about me 🙂

Why dont you go away from your parents and work by yourself.

I already work by myself. I don’t because I don’t make enough to afford rent and because my parents need help, both financial aid and working for them without pay.

There are tons of scholarships for people in america if you work hard enough for it and you can get student loans.

First of all, I am not in America. There are people outside America. I know, just blew your mind here. I mean, that is, if I even count as people to you. And did you read the part where I said people can’t AFFORD to focus on their education? I myself can’t, many people call me selfish for insisting or getting an academical career.

No one paid for me I went through college on my own. My mother didnt give a fuck If I studied or not.

Oh you pooooooor baby! Mommy didn’t help you with that math test? Awwww.

Who depends on their parents after they hit 18 years of age? I didnt even have to take any study loans to do it. Be independent.

You mean besides disabled people and people who can’t afford their education even if they work full time, I mean, do you know the price of a medschool and how time consuming it is? No one. But I didn’t say the children do, I said the parents, the family needs the 18 yo (and younger) to work. Did you read my comment at all? Where did I say anything of you are answering about?

One of my friends did it shes a woman I dont know why you cant.

Right? We have so much in common, such as a vagina!

Sweetheart I came from a lower middle class family no one gave me anything.

A lower middle class American who were given NOTHING – NOTHING I TELL YOU – but education, housing, food and clothing for 18 years+! And being born in the richest country in the world! What a humanitarian nightmare!

You do realize that there is something called the internet and google right? You can easily find out the best career paths in seconds.

????? Okay???? And I chose doctor?

I worked as a security guard at night while studying fulltime. Dont give me a lecture on working hard while you still live with your fucking parents.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, don’t give me a lecture on working hard! I am able to provide for myself with the work I do, I can clean my little single person apartment in one hour, while you only have to provide for yourself, help providing for 4 other people, take care of a baby three times a week, clean your two store house with 5 people in it, work part time for your parents for free, and study to compete for a seat for 150 other people! All this while battling clinical depression! Stop being lazy and stupid! I worked when I was 18!

EJ (Marxist Jazz Weasel)

I went to bed, Bradley continued, and if he ever responded to me then I didn’t see it. WWTH was right (as ever): asking misogynists to name three non-misogynist thinkers is basically impossible.

Also, @PoM:

Are you going to tell me that it was my free, uninfluenced choice to not be a physicist, when that was literally my life dream and it was ruined by misogynist men?

Thank you for sharing that story. I’m so sorry that it happened. For what it’s worth, I think you would make an excellent physicist.
