Antifeminism and white supremacy: Joined at the hip for more than a century

Not sure that portraying the woman voter here as a total badass really helped the antifeminist argument, but whatev

Men’s Rights Activists, and anti-feminists generally, are forever warning anyone who will listen that excessive feminism could, any day now, bring about the end of western civilization itself.

This is not a terribly new or original idea. And a post on Nazified pickup artist blog Chateau Heartiste today reminds us just how old and unoriginal this notion is.

The proprietor of that blog, James “Heartiste” Weidmann, brings his readers’ attention to a lengthy quotation from a 1911 book by a fellow named Octavius Beale.

[U]nreasonable demands for exaggerated “rights ” of women will always find a limit in the fact that the majority of men will constantly prefer for wives those who do not claim such rights, but who rather seek their happiness in cultivating and developing their specially feminine virtues and attributes, apart from any aim at equality with men.

Take that, feminist cat ladies with no husbands!

These attributes will also therefore be preferably inherited, whilst the extreme tendencies of the women’s rights movement will usually not come into heredity, but will constantly tend to die out.

Well, he was half right. Feminism did die out, for a time, but then it came back.

Notwithstanding, should woman-rule —contrary to all expectations— become so strong in any single State that it will be able to enforce all its demands, even the most extreme, that result could only be possible where the men are completely degenerated.

Degenerated, huh? Can you see where this is going?

Such a nation would soon be supplanted and dissolved by healthier peoples, who might, perhaps, stand on a lower scale of culture.

I believe he is referring to what the Nazis of today like to call “white genocide.” Back in 1911, Beale called it “Racial Decay” — which was in fact the title of his book.

Amazing how quickly and easily Beale slid from antifeminism to white supremacy. Just as so many antifeminists do today.

Heartiste follows up Beale’s dire, racist warning with a dire, racist warning of his own.

After declaring “equalism” to be “a corruption of civilized man’s soul,” he tries his best to rally the troops in defense of their white “tribe.”

[F]emcuntery will only achieve wrecking power in a nation of degenerated men unable and unwilling to act to preserve their culture and protect their tribe. Women are followers and will follow their nation right into the abyss if it guarantees their social standing among peers; as I’ve been saying, it’ll take shitlord men with big balls to bring their women to heel and their nation back to greatness.

Heartiste, seriously, no one wants to hear about your balls.

There was a lecture last week about Jewish Suffragettes. It was very interesting. A lot of what they (the Jewish suffragettes) spoke about sounded very much like we’d now call intersectionality.

But the reason I mention it was that it all tied in with the above. A lot of the anti-woman rhetoric was coming from the same people who were worried that extending the franchise generally would lead to a loss of male christian supremacy. Their concerns about Jewish people sounded very similar to the stuff referenced in your post.

I like how the cartoon portrays as terrible the fact that the woman sits around smoking cigars (how lazy!) while the man must sew and take care of the baby (look at how hard he has it!).

It’s as if they accidentally acknowledge that women get the short end of the stick under traditional gender roles.

epitome of incomprehensibility

Women are followers and will follow their nation right into the abyss…

But they’re simultaneously trying to control everything. Sounds legit.

@Hashtag Ravenclaw –

It’s as if they acknowledge, on some level, that the traditional gender roles that they want to restore give men all the good things, and women all the chores.

^YES, THIS.

Is Octavious Beale an ancestor of Vox Day?

@WWTH, I had the same thought. Octavius Beale didn’t have any children named Robert Beale (Vox’s dad). He was also Australian, and Australia is a good long way from Minnesota, so it’s not likely he’s a second degree relative. Beale’s not dreadfully uncommon either.

Either way I’m giving anybody named Beale the side-eye from here on out.

Unreasonable demands for exaggerated “rights ” of women

Objection! Leading the witness!

men will constantly prefer for wives those who do not claim such rights, but who rather seek their happiness in cultivating and developing their specially feminine virtues and attributes

Not sure how those are mutually exclusive…

These attributes will also therefore be preferably inherited

He’s not even pretending to evopsych this

Such a nation would soon be supplanted and dissolved by healthier peoples, who might, perhaps, stand on a lower scale of culture

Racists rarely actually tend to see ‘their culture’ and ‘their people’ as worth a damn, huh? No anti white, cultural marxist cuck like a white supremacist…

Women are followers . . .

Yeah, not like MRAs, each of whom is blazing his own effin’ trail.

And who are women following? Other women? And who are these other women following? It’s not the Jews, is it? Snort.

. . . and will follow their nation right into the abyss if it guarantees their social standing among peers . . .

Wait, wait, wut? Women are following their nation? Nations are feminists? Marching into the abyss?

Seriously, Heartiste (most inappropriate made-up name of all time!), do you ever read what you wrote?

. . . as I’ve been saying . . .

Oh yes, no need to remind us.

I’m trying to figure out what was the point of making the man in the picture look old enough to be the woman’s grandfather. Is this about grandparent abuse? Or was it that if the older person looked like the woman’s grandmother, it would just look like she was helping her granddaughter get a few minutes relaxation?

Keep talking that way, Heartiste, and no woman will ever marry you and rescue you from your misanthropic, hate-filled, miserably lonely existence.

Women prefer good-looking guys who make them laugh. What are you doing to make yourself marriageable?!

They’re the real cucks. They’re the ones who want to sit back and watch everyone else get screwed over.

I heard on an interview with Roland Martin that the reason these people are trying so hard to outlaw abortion is not because they care about human life, but because they’ve been told by scientists that unless White people keep up the birth rate, they will be a numerical minority in forty years. One way to insure they won’t be, is to limit immigration of brown people, and force white women to have kids, (because all of that isht is aimed squarely at white women.)

They consequently believe that poor brown and black women, who can’t get abortions either, will stop having sex, or their kids will die (they don’t believe black men take care of their kids, so yeah, black kids will die.)

They also think if they make miscegenation illegal again, then white women will only be forced to have sex with White men, thereby increasing the birth rate.

Basically it’s an entire belief system built on a bunch of myths and stereotypes of black /brown men and women, and their belief that white women will fall into line because they have no choice but to be their brood mares. (White peoples fears of their future numerical minority status is what’s fueling the racial backlash right now.)

You can tell theses bozos are not intersectional because gay people are never mentioned in these conversations. (Although from the looks of it, they want to make that illegal again, too.)

Oh yeah, that’s another puzzling thing. Sometimes racists praise their own race for building civilization, creating art, making technological advances, and uplifting other races from their state of barbarity. But when their glorious civilization become too stable and the only problems left are first-world problems, they bemoan how outsiders are making them soft and how things would be so much better if society collapsed, allowing the master race to dominate through strength and violence. You know, like the barbarians that they supposedly aren’t.

If they have the most advanced civilization, that’s a nice card to play in the game of which-culture-is-better: “Whites have the blood of the ancient Romans!” If other cultures start to rival them, then suddenly civilization is for the weak: “Whites have the blood of the Vikings!”

it’s insulting to the vikings really. they were pretty violent, but they weren’t these shirtless howling caricatures. They had a whole culture; concept of law, baths, poetry slams i’m pretty sure.

I thought it was just based on the default age difference between spouses in popular culture. Watch any commercial for Viagra or Cialis, and the couple always has the woman look young enough to be the man’s daughter.

They think there’s a genetic component to wanting rights.

I’ve seen this before but I can’t get over it. They think feminism is genetic.

I’ve seen a few dickdrug commercials in my time, never saw one where the man was substantially older than the woman.

Thank you for those analyses, lkeke35 and Hashtag_Ravenclaw.

I’m told that the Norse were fairly egalitarian for the time: women could own land, could speak at Things, and could sue people who’d wronged them. What this says about their racist colonial policies, wholesale slave trading and famous violence is something I’m not sure about.

OT, but it seems the alt-right has taken offence to Beauty and the Beast (because of fucking course it has). Welp, I’ve seen Hidden Figures and Loving; now I’ve got Get Out and Beauty and the Beast on my roster – a roster which the alt-right replenishes every month.

I’m confused. Are they saying that women are going to be attracted to “shitlords”? ‘Cos that’s just not an appealing description.

Hello.

Well, i was thinking the only thing from 1911 known by this guy was the Colt, as a future tool for PUA (you know, the Pick Up at gun point stuff) (it is a joke, but i fear this kind of persons imagine something like that one day or another).

Anyway, grievous angry men thinking women accession to rights and power would bring deliquescence of civilization predate 1911 (sadly, as an example, if we look at the constitution just after our French Revolution, there are clearly no political ways offer to women, and we know what they have done to Olympe de Gouge when she tried to participate to political debate). But, oh surprise, even with a better presence of women in places of importance, a better access to rights, still no sign of decay (from an objective point of view, of course). Strange, because since the time these men are complaining about that, the world should have died and crumble a thousand times.
At the bottom of a well, a frog was complaining…

Have a nice day.

@Remaindered

I’ve not come across the idea of *feminism* being genetic, but I know this guy who used to be a pretty extreme libertarian… except with some odd twists. One of which was that he argued that collectivism (you know, that word libertarians use for “actually caring about other humans”) was genetic – I think he even described it as a hereditary disease or harmful mutation or something. Then it got weirder from there as he daydreamed about the inevitable civil war between libertarians and collectivists, and creating an army of utterly obedient cloned supersoldiers to fight on his side, or something.
I don’t think he was ever specifically an MRA although for a while he was starting to drift down the “Anita Sarkeesian is an evil liar because some dude on YouTube said so” rabbit hole. Oh and he once got in trouble for transphobic remarks, although I genuinely think he was (loudly and persistently) misgendering that person out of honest ignorance rather than deliberate transphobia. Still good that he got called out on it, obviously, his ignorance needed to be corrected, and he got the idea afterwards.

Eventually he grew up a bit, had a phase of using the phrase “when I was still right-wing…” a LOT – and is now involved in Momentum, the left-wing pressure group within the UK Labour party… go figure.

I’m pretty certain that being a hateful nazified jerk leads to accelerated aging in men, and in any case, the internet is FOREVER so any chance Mr. Fartiste had of getting someone to marry him and have his babies…that ship sailed a long time ago, it’s a train that left the station years back, and all other expressions that can/have been used to say “NO CHANCE, LOSER” can be inserted here. 🙂
