The Leftists is a Clever Animal: An addled Davis Aurini responds to anti-Trump protests

The Leftists defeating itself, apparently
The Leftists defeating itself

A specter is haunting Davis Aurini, the specter of thousands of Americans exercising their First Amendment rights by taking to the streets to protest the incoming Trump administration.

The dandyish Holocaust denier and failed filmmaker reports breathlessly in a post today (archived here) that “violent thugs” allegedly in the employ of “billionaires like George Soros” are planning a big evil riot party during Trump’s inauguration.

A march on Washington! Who would dare plan anything as un-American as that?

A Leftists, that’s who. Let’s let Aurini explain, in this glorious outburst of overwritten but underproofread prose:

The Leftists is a clever animal – it is very socially savvy and manipulative – but it isn’t smart, at least not in the strategic sense. They turned up the heat too high, and Pepe jumped out of the pot.

Not only that, but they TRIED TO TERK OUR GIRMES!

Video games could have been the perfect palliative for the men of this dying civilization, but instead of encouraging a masculine retreat from the world, they tried to take that too, leading to GamerGate, and now – when two-thirds of the country are worried about that brash and brusque Reality-TV star that just got voted in (even many of those who voted for him are worried), they aren’t using soft, concessionary language which could encourage a return to some sort of moderate stance (moderate stances always serve the Left, remember; they’re like the teeth on a ratchet, a temporary holding pattern) – instead they’re doing all they can to prove us right.

That’s all one sentence. Diagram it at your peril!

Aurini elaborates on his theory that protests against The Trump will merely make The Trump stronger.

Rioting over a democratically elected president will … galvanize those who value civilization, and destigmatize those who criticize feminism.

CHECKMATE, FEMINISM!

Now all the questions that the evil feminists don’t want anyone to ask are suddenly “back on the table.”

According to Aurini, these questions include:

  1. Should a woman be able to murder a baby 8 months after conception?
  2. Does the “gender pay gap” actually exist?
  3. Should women be forced to register for the draft?
  4. Should women have unilateral rights in divorce court?
  5. Are men and women equal, or are they complimentary?

Yes, that’s right: People will be asking whether or not men and women LIKE TO SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT EACH OTHER.

AND FEMINISM WILL CRUMBLE BECAUSE wait a minute here, what on earth do compliments have to do with feminism?

Ohhhhhhhh, I think the word Mr. Aurini is looking for is “complementary,” with an e, not an i, in the middle there. Complementary, with an e, means “combining in such a way as to enhance or emphasize the qualities of each other.”

Complimentary, the word Aurini used, means “expressing a compliment; praising or approving” or, alternately, “given or supplied free of charge.” As in, “here’s your complimentary grammar lesson for today, Mr. Aurini.”

These Alt-Right philosopher kings don’t really shine as brightly as they think they do, huh?

Davis? Davis Aurini? The Davis Aurini??

OMG OMG OMG

Okay, okay, calm down, I can only ask one question, sooooo…..

Do you ever actually drink whiskey? Or in reality are you more of a wine-cooler type?

Okay, one question AND a follow-up.

@occasional reader:

Are there various semantics to the term complementary ?

It’s all about context. When talking about gender and specifically gender complementarianism, you’re moving into a discussion that has its own sets of assumptions. When you someone start talking about the complementarian nature of the two genders, you have to go beyond standard dictionary definitions to understand what they’re really saying. You have to understand how that term is used as a codeword for a whole bunch of ideas in that context.

@occasional reader: basically it’s another dogwhistle for ‘women should subscribe to traditional gender roles and so should men. That way they will natually compliment each other, he with the earning money and protecting, and she with the nurturing and housecleaning.’

I agree a relationship should have equal partners who complement one another, as in each contributing their own individual strengths to allow the other to hm… acheive more?

But not in the dogwhistley way.

Wait, why have we decided we can only ask Davis one question? Is he like some sort of leprechaun or such where if you catch him he has to answer exactly one question truthfully (though, I suspect, as is the case with these things, truthfully but entirely unhelpfully)?

Sorry here too. Writing from work, the security politics forbid me to see a lot of picture sites (such as tumblr), thus i do not see the picture you are talking about. The only picture i have seen in your comment is the one which is a drawing of a person in front of a laptop, punching the wall (and almost destroying it in the process).
My fault, i have not been precise enough in my question.

Oh, from the other thread! It’s okay, I know English isn’t your first language, so no worries! 😀

That image is a super old reaction image I found years ago. I was reminded of it when I saw that clip, so I dug it up by Googling “Anime girl punching hole in the wall”, and that was one of the first results.

I’m pretty sure it came from 4chan or something though. 😐

EDIT: I wonder what Davis would think of my photoshop of him clutching Roosh’s leg.

Apparently Steve Bannon has praised Darth Vader and Satan as good, “misunderstood” role models in an interview. It actually didn’t surprise me (Breitbart has published favorable articles about LaVeyan Satanism before). He and Aurini would get along swimmingly.

These guys are like Jonathon Sharkey without the fangs. (Here in Minnesota, Sharkey the “right-wing vampire” is well known, he tried to run for governor once.)

The GOP has gone into full Nouvelle Droite mode. At this point Mike Pence seems like more of a fig leaf than anything else.

Evangelicals will have a tough decision to make: either leave conservatism and the GOP (maybe becoming more like mainline/liberal Protestants in the process?) or else abandon their Christianity altogether in order to fit in to the new, leaner, meaner party culture. I suspect it will be the latter option for many of them; politics always trumped spirituality in the minds of many evangelicals.

Handsome "Punkle Stan" Jack

Apparently Steve Bannon has praised Darth Vader and Satan as good, “misunderstood” role models in an interview. It actually didn’t surprise me (Breitbart has published favorable articles about LaVeyan Satanism before).

I don’t know about Darth Vader (because he did do the right thing at the end) but, like, satan in the Bible and LaVeyan Satanism are two different things. Bible satan is a figure that suppose to obscure and obstruct good to cause suffering through temptation and ignorance. His goal is literally to turn as many people away from goodness as possible.

But in LaVeyan Satanism, satan isn’t an actual figure but rather a metaphor or something like that. LaVeyan Satanism isn’t about worshipping satan or the devil or anything at all. It’s a faux religion for atheist to make fun of Christians with. Or at least that’s how it started. From what I’ve read about LaVeyan Satanism in the past, it actually has a lot of good testaments and stuff. They have a website and everything I used to pursue when I was in elementary school because I had very little parental oversight and I’m a born edgelord.

Anyway, look at the Nine Satanic Statements, the Eleven Satanic Rules, and the Nine Satanic Sins

For those who don’t want to click those links, here’s some highlights:

Statements:

Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!

Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!

Rules:

Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.

If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.

Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.

Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.

Do not harm little children.

When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

Sins:

Pretentiousness
Empty posturing can be most irritating and isn’t applying the cardinal rules of Lesser Magic. On equal footing with stupidity for what keeps the money in circulation these days. Everyone’s made to feel like a big shot, whether they can come up with the goods or not.

Solipsism
Can be very dangerous for Satanists. Projecting your reactions, responses and sensibilities onto someone who is probably far less attuned than you are. It is the mistake of expecting people to give you the same consideration, courtesy and respect that you naturally give them. They won’t. Instead, Satanists must strive to apply the dictum of “Do unto others as they do unto you.” It’s work for most of us and requires constant vigilance lest you slip into a comfortable illusion of everyone being like you. As has been said, certain utopias would be ideal in a nation of philosophers, but unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, from a Machiavellian standpoint) we are far from that point.

LaVeyan Satanism is also against abuse, both sexual and physical on human or animal, are queer-friendly and emphises sexual consent and don’t promote illegal activities. Big quote on that page, “Illegal actions are not sanctioned by the Church of Satan.” Can’t miss it.

The only reason I think a white nationalist would speak positively of LaVeyan Satanism is this

Stratification
The point on which all the others ultimately rest. There can be no more myth of “equality” for all—it only translates to “mediocrity” and supports the weak at the expense of the strong. Water must be allowed to seek its own level without interference from apologists for incompetence. No one should be protected from the effects of his own stupidity.

However

Recently we have seen certain evangelists and even academics calling Satanism a neo-Nazi movement. This is an innacurate[sic] label. The Nazi movement drew much of its power from a racist doctrine of Aryan superiority. Satanism is far more discerning than that…it is quite irrational to think that someone can be elite or not simply because of the color of their skin.

(I shortened it a bit because it’s super flowery and kinda cringe worthy in some aspect. “Genetic superiority reguardless of race” and shit. Also you’d think with such a nice website, they’d be more careful with spelling.)

But, like, LaVeyan Satanism should be, in theory, incompatible with white nationalism, nazism, homophobia, transphobia–pretty much every bigoted shit. They ARE influenced by Ayn Rand, however, so they promote opportunism and a “hate everyone” mentality, but I can’t see why any nazi would praise it beyond that. At all. In fact, I’m pretty sure he’d be barred or excommunicated because they do excommunicate abusers and rapists and stuff.

Although I’m pretty sure there’s shady shit going on because I remember I was turned off from Satanism for some reason, although I don’t remember why. I think it had to do with LaVey himself? Or maybe it’s because I didn’t want to make fun of Christians anymore? (I think I might be pass that, now.) Anyone know any of the bad shit I’ve blocked from my head, please tell me, because I feel as though I forgot.

But, like, that was my post defending Satanism against nazis. Hope you enjoyed it.

Really? It certainly reads that way, and their efforts to put public monuments anywhere that allows public religious monuments suggests they just want to stick it to xtians. I don’t know much about them other than having skimmed some of their site and from having followed some of their statue-building antics back when I used to read Friendly Athiest, though.

They definitely do some spiting and mocking, but that’s not the core philosophy of the religion. And it was definitely not started for that reason. Anton LaVey had some terrible ideas on which the religion was founded. Of course, in later years there have been several branches of modern Satanism, so they obviously have some disagreements on the philosophy.

EJ (The Orphic Lizard)

I’ve met Satanists who take it seriously in a religious sense. I’ve also met Satanists who do it to piss off their Christian parents, or who do it to piss off their Christian governments. I’m told that there are Satanists out there who do it just to take advantage of teenagers who are dabbling with it. As always, people will have a range of motives for following any cause.

I think it was less about only being allowed one question each, and more about only having one opportunity to interact with him. I doubt he’s going to come back around here any time soon! However, your interpretation is way more fun, so I have decided to accept it as fact.

Oh dear. What happened to his manly logics and crushing truths about feminism? Why would a tough manly man need a retreat from the world, wouldn’t that make him a beta cuck? I thought manly toughy-tough masculine men were all strong and never back down to mere feminazis and manginas, rather than being so scared of us that he can’t write more than one comment.

Super disappointed, Mr. Awfulini! What a beta…

Hi everyone…

This is my first post since the election and I do so with trepidation since I am not too convinced that I have any real business commenting on the result either way since, you know, I am not an American.

However, the uncertainty that I have seen expressed here really has depressed me a bit, like a pall of gloom has settled over this usually merry, mocking corner of the internet and I sincerely wish there was something I could say at least to try to be comforting and hopeful, especially since having the good fortune to come across such delightful gems of OP commentary such as this (/s):

Half the reason Hillary lost was her repellent personality, and the only lesson there is not to do that again. Warren would have won. But Hillary’s high personal negatives caused her to hemorrhage votes with every demographic that was supposed to be her destiny.

The other half is basically an extreme (and trivializing) conception of rights, in two ways: 1) group rights,(reverse discrimination) and 2) rights not to be offended (special protections). The first of these meant that any White (or male) who was not on board with the idea that Whites (and males) should be targeted for socio-economic lowering was to be condemned as “racist” (and “sexist”). Obviously this did not sit well with those who were in the cross-hairs of the self-anointed (and self-righteous) “Social Justice Warriors”, and no force on earth could have made them not vote for Trump.. The second of these, though much less important than the first, provided a sort of constant annoying background noise that contributed much to the general “wrong track” feeling in much of the country. So unless and until the Democrats back off of reverse discrimination and special protections (or get rid of the electoral college), this kind of thing is going to keep on happening.

Or this:

In the end, many of us who originally voted Sanders but decided on Trump did so because we felt that white America was belittled and forgotten. We all want one nation, color blind with our only purpose to be bettering the lives of all citizens.

Yeah… “belittled and forgotten” – really?

This is, in my opinion, particularly ironic given the Trump campaign rhetoric, and the truly scary appointments that he has secured for his nest of vipers.

What about the PoC, the LGBTQ, the non-Christian, the atheist, or anyone who doesn’t fully conform to the “(straight, cis-male and) white is ALWAYS right” POV? Isn’t every vote for The Dumpster a dismissal, a belittling, a (deliberate) forgetting of everyone else?

I may be reading this all wrong due to my limited knowledge of US history and culture but even from where I am standing, however many thousands of miles away, it still seems that this is going to be a scary time for all of us, everywhere.

And to think the FIRST TERM officially starts next year.
