The Leftists is a Clever Animal: An addled Davis Aurini responds to anti-Trump protests

The Leftists defeating itself, apparently
The Leftists defeating itself

A specter is haunting Davis Aurini, the specter of thousands of Americans exercising their First Amendment rights by taking to the streets to protest the incoming Trump administration.

The dandyish Holocaust denier and failed filmmaker reports breathlessly in a post today (archived here) that “violent thugs” allegedly in the employ of “billionaires like George Soros” are planning a big evil riot party during Trump’s inauguration.

A march on Washington! Who would dare plan anything as un-American as that?

A Leftists, that’s who. Let’s let Aurini explain, in this glorious outburst of overwritten but underproofread prose:

The Leftists is a clever animal – it is very socially savvy and manipulative – but it isn’t smart, at least not in the strategic sense. They turned up the heat too high, and Pepe jumped out of the pot.

Not only that, but they TRIED TO TERK OUR GIRMES!

Video games could have been the perfect palliative for the men of this dying civilization, but instead of encouraging a masculine retreat from the world, they tried to take that too, leading to GamerGate, and now – when two-thirds of the country are worried about that brash and brusque Reality-TV star that just got voted in (even many of those who voted for him are worried), they aren’t using soft, concessionary language which could encourage a return to some sort of moderate stance (moderate stances always serve the Left, remember; they’re like the teeth on a ratchet, a temporary holding pattern) – instead they’re doing all they can to prove us right.

That’s all one sentence. Diagram it at your peril!

Aurini elaborates on his theory that protests against The Trump will merely make The Trump stronger.

Rioting over a democratically elected president will … galvanize those who value civilization, and destigmatize those who criticize feminism.

CHECKMATE, FEMINISM!

Now all the questions that the evil feminists don’t want anyone to ask are suddenly “back on the table.”

According to Aurini, these questions include:

  1. Should a woman be able to murder a baby 8 months after conception?
  2. Does the “gender pay gap” actually exist?
  3. Should women be forced to register for the draft?
  4. Should women have unilateral rights in divorce court?
  5. Are men and women equal, or are they complimentary?

Yes, that’s right: People will be asking whether or not men and women LIKE TO SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT EACH OTHER.

AND FEMINISM WILL CRUMBLE BECAUSE wait a minute here, what on earth do compliments have to do with feminism?

Ohhhhhhhh, I think the word Mr. Aurini is looking for is “complementary,” with an e, not an i, in the middle there. Complementary, with an e, means “combining in such a way as to enhance or emphasize the qualities of each other.”

Complimentary, the word Aurini used, means “expressing a compliment; praising or approving” or, alternately, “given or supplied free of charge.” As in, “here’s your complimentary grammar lesson for today, Mr. Aurini.”

These Alt-Right philosopher kings don’t really shine as brightly as they think they do, huh?

Hello.

Hum, what i still do not get is how he can go from a demonstration/riot by progressive people to feminisim. Sure, feminism (not the extremist branchs) in itself is progressive, but it is a part of progress. He is so focused on his misogyny that he is not even able to stay on his original idea. No wonder he botches any movie.

Video games ? Masculine retreat of the world ? Are we back in the 80’s ? I do not even need to comment on the “masculine” part, figures speak by themselves. And retreat ? Palliative ? Gurgling slurs and threats to all and nothing, thanks to anonymity, can not be really call a “retreat”, as it is the opposite, and i do not see what it palliates.

> Are men and women equal, or are they complementary ? (correction included thanks to David)
Why “or” ? What could impede equals to be complementary ? Especially with the definition that David quotes. On contrary, you can achieve more synergy when each member of the group are treated as equals (in term of rights, of course) than when there are inequalities.
Ah, but coming from someone who is not even able to make a movie with someone without clashing up to a split, i guess the concept of mutual enhancement is lost somewhere in the Warp.

It kills me how the right is having fits over the left protesting the President-elect. I keep hearing a lot of “We didn’t protest when Obama was elected and re-elected.”

I always reply with, “No, but it would have been your Constitutionally-granted right to do so. Instead some of right wing people started petitions demanding states be allowed to secede, demanded Obama’s birth certificate and did everything they could to undermine him as President.”

I have yet to get a logical answer to that.

Basically paid for GOP “activists” including Roger Stone stopped the recount in Florida by rushing the doors and kicking and punching the DNC aide in there.

This is where the paid to protest nonsense is coming from. Because its something the gop has done before. So as usual pure projection.

I hesitate with this reply because it sounds so hateful and so cliche, but here it is…

The right did not get out in the streets when Obama was elected because they are too lazy. They are used to having the force of law behind their agenda, and when the law was not on their side they were helpless to do anything but whine.

That is also why ( full disclosure, the upcoming statistic was made up on the spot) 90% of white men who voted for The Cheeto did so… he promised to make it legal again to publicly abuse anyone who is not a white, cis, het, xian man. Aurini and his ilk are frustrated that the society is trying to move beyond their bigotry.

I have two things relating to Swedish and American politics:

1. When those 538 maps came out, showing “only women voting” versus “only men voting”, a member of our current Social Democrat cabinet, Annika Strandhäll, made a (joking) tweet floating the idea of revoking men’s voting rights. In response, a (male) digital communications manager for the Moderate Party (the largest right wing party) did a live web stream in which he said “joking about men’s voting rights is not okay, you whore“. I think Trump’s success is having an effect on how even Swedish politicians behave. This is something I would expect from the far right racist parties – not from a mainstream right winger.

2. Someone was kind enough to make a map of the electoral districts of Sweden, showing what would happen to our parliament if we were using the electoral college system of the US.

comment image

Red = Social Democrat (center-left)
Blue = Moderate (right)

The 349 seats of parliament would be distributed as below.

comment image

For context, this is the actual, current distribution of parliament seats:

comment image

From left to right, the colors represent:
Left Party (solid left)
Social Democrats (center-left)
Green Party (left)
Sweden Democrats (extreme right/neo Nazi)
Independent (1 seat, grey)
Christian Democrats (far right)
Liberals (center-right)
Center Party (center-right)
Moderates (right)

The point of this hypothetical is probably to show that imposing an electoral college system would immediately turn Sweden into a de facto two party system. Of course, this map doesn’t take into account that smaller parties would lose many votes to the 2 or 3 larger parties, along somewhat predictable lines, so the real life electoral map would have different red/blue proportions but the two party dominance would be intact.

Glad to hear Aurini has started supporting a feminist cause! With #3, the National Organization of Women started suing to have women included in Selective Service since back in the 80’s and feminists have fought to get them included this whole time.

Also, with the “the Right never protested Obama’s election” nonsense, two words – Tea and Party. The entire Tea Party movement exploded directly in response to Obama’s election. Protesting Obama was basically all they did from inauguration until they were taken over and turned into astro-turf.

I still remember scratching my head in wonder at senior citizens at Tea Party rallies protesting the government take over of Medicare by Obama. But I guess facts and a lot of the Right only have a passing acquaintance.

weirwoodtreehugger: communist bonobo

Weird Eddie,

That’s about it. Part of their privilege is that they’re used to more marginalized groups doing work in service of them. It’s why you see MRA trolls like Andrew in the other thread offended that feminists aren’t doing men’s rights activism for them. That they could fundraise for a men’s shelter themselves never crosses their mind. What they want is just supposed to come to them with no effort because it’s their birthright as white men. Then they piss and moan when high paying jobs and HB10s don’t fall in their laps.

Trump told them what they want to hear. They enabled their magical thinking and laziness. They believe Trump in the White House will be the quick fix that will gain them all the privileges they feel entitled to. When it doesn’t happen – and it won’t – they will make up conspiracy theories about why rather than becoming involved with the fight for $15 or pushing for unions or fighting for measures to alleviate income inequality. Much easier to make an incomprehensible meme about cultural Marxism.

The ironic thing is that they believe they’re the strong and tough ones. The mammoth hunters and civilization builders.

1) Should a woman be able to murder a baby 8 months after conception?

No. There is no justification for killing the baby. There is a justification for removing an unwanted fetus from your body (namely, that it’s YOUR body, and therefore YOU decide who can use its organs), even if said fetus will die as a result of the removal.
Basically: murder is illegal, but abortion is not murder nor illegal.

2) Does the “gender pay gap” actually exist?

Yes. Even if you confront a man and a woman with the exact same job, position, efficiency and hours worked, there’s STILL a 5% difference (and that’s for white women – it gets worse when non-white races are involved).
However, that would require you to ignore a number of issues that cause those differences in jobs, position, efficiency and hours worked, such as: hiring and promoting biases against women; the motherhood penalty; harassment against women in “male” jobfields; and the fact that literally every jobfield that become female-dominated lost prestige and wages due to it being seen as “feminine”, and thus “easier”.

3) Should women be forced to register for the draft?

If the draft is ever reinstated, yes. But weren’t you against men being sent to die in war? Shouldn’t you want to remove the draft entirely? (Also: are you aware that it was men who forbade women from the draft? Despite the explicit protests of feminists?)

4) Should women have unilateral rights in divorce court?

Women currently do NOT have “unilateral rights in divorce court”.

5) Are men and women equal, or are they complimentary?

Equal. If you believe the contrary, please provide actual evidence.

@occasional reader:

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the concept of gender complementarianism. I’m most familiar with it from certain evangelical Christian circles. At it’s core, complementarianism is repackaged gender roles and patriarchal bullshit. “Men are made to lead and protect. Women are made to nurture and serve.” That sort of thing.

The interesting thing to me is that Aurini seems to be admitting that equality and complementarianism are at odds. Most complementarians will go to great lengths to insist that one can be complementarian and still ascribe to gender equality. Granted, they go to great lengths to twist what gender equality means in order to make that claim.

My fun Twitter exchange with a racist today!

Lindy West tweet: feminists/”SJWs” have been warning & battling, unaided, against this upswell of bigotry & doublespeak & now we’re being blamed 4 its victory

My original reply to her, sarcasm aimed at those doing the blaming: If we didn’t speak out against bigotry, bigots wouldn’t get attention so they’d quit being bigots?

Half a day later, the racist: there are thousands of bigots rioting on the streets of US, all because they didn’t get their own way

Me, because I can’t be arsed with this shit: Awwwwww, look at you being all “I know you are but what am I?!?!” Go and play, the adults are talking. 🙂

Him: What a well thought out response. SJW’s/liberals have been so protected by PC that they are pathetic snowflakes

Me: Oh dear. Another oversensitive white man. I’m sorry that you’re so cucked that you need to be outraged online.

Him: I’m not outraged at all, the SJW’s are outraged.

Me: “I know you are but what am I?!?!” You keep doing that. Do you stamp your feet and hold your breath too?

No further replies yet. I do find it’s much more satisfying to mock them than it is to engage them.

this is the first I’m realizing that they think one of the keystones of feminism is to…prevent women being drafted?

Close, but I think their actual belief is that feminists want to specifically send men to war while avoiding it themselves, to keep the male population down and manageable.

And no, they absolutely do not realize that many feminists have been pushing for women to be included in the military all along in the same capacities as men.

They actually have very very very little* education in actual real-life feminism. Their beliefs are mostly cobbled together from the worst of the “Angry Feminist (code: Lesbian)” stereotypes. I mean the very worst.

So someone threw a tiff that Trump didn’t have his own cadre of brownshirts in order to tick Eco’s checklist?

NOT TO WORRY! https://twitter.com/OmanReagan/status/797314498243633153

Check. While it is not him organizing it, some people are hearing his call quite clearly.

Saw that over on Tumblr. I am not very convinced by it. (I mean, I can easily see Trump developing brownshirts, just not convinced this is real.)

The Lions of Trump first appear in spring this year, and seem to have had a website dedicated to condemning them (by a guy who wrote a book about how Trump and Hitler are real similar) before they actually formed. I get the impression they were more excited than effective at anything.

The account that Oman-Reagan put on Twitter, frankly, I don’t quite buy. A friend of his happened to be in, I guess an Applebees or something, and some guy came up and did discreet Nazi salutes, and asked this total stranger if he was interested in some mysterious brown-shirted social club that’s dedicated to dealing with ‘certain people’ in the media? So this friend gets a surreptitious photograph of the badges, and sends this to his buddy to put on Twitter?

I’m pretty paranoid, and even I am going….ehhh…unless this friend was having breakfast at the diner from West Wing that they raid at the beginning of the episode where they get Zoe back, I dunno as I buy it. Actually, I do know. I don’t buy it.

I see, I think I am beginning to understand. Although it also seems like they can’t make up their minds whether women should be drafted or should be excluded from the army altogether. I suppose they start out with the one opinion and when they realize there are many women voluntarily serving in our armed forces, swap over to the other opinion so they still have something to be angry about.

Tizio

@PreuxFox

Hell, first misogynists trot out the line about how “man and women are complimentary” as justification for forcing women in role B (which includes staying at home and take care of the kids) while men go into role A (working, getting financial independency).
Then, those same misogynists whine that women get the vast majority of alimony (because those women don’t have financial independency, because they stayed at home and took care of the children) and child custody (because those women were the children’s “primary caregiver”, since they were the ones who stayed at home and spent the most time with said children).

As for the “women should be forced into/out of the army” thing: while many misogynists oscillate between the two, some combining both positions into something even more orrible than the individual parts:
“Women shouldn’t be soldiers because they’re feeeeeeeeeemales, but it’s not fair that only men are drafted and die in front combat, therefore for each men that dies in combat a woman should also die”. Feel free to puke.
