I do not fear for myself. I am relatively privileged, being Caucasian, from a middle-class family, and being given a 2-year free ride (with the potential for more in the future), and some of my privilege dings aren’t immediately visible.

What I fear for is the fate of my friends. A flurry of different sexualities, gender IDs, and descents…not to mention qualities of life and of distance from me. In fact, most of them aren’t within 100 miles of me. Several are on the other coast. And I can’t even drive.

So if something happens to them, the most I can do is go on Skype/Kik/Hangouts and hope that they respond and listen to my words, whether they be of encouragement, distraction, or desperation.

At least one of my friends, a gay male on the other coast who has a transient living situation, has stated that he’s considering suicide if he can’t get to Canada by the time Trump’s sworn in. Other friends are just Very Upset, afraid, and panicky.

No-one deserves that. No-one deserves to live in fear of those in power. No-one.

American media is going to start taking him seriously yet

Yeah, now that it’s too late. The media used Trumpf as the Ultimate Clickbait ever since he came on the scene. I think they had 100% confidence that he was going to lose, confidence supported by every poll except The Cheeto’s own Now, suddenly, it’s like the kid everyone poked fun at in junior high has brought a gun to school….

Having listened to the victory and concession speeches, and now Obama’s speech…

I’m sorry, “we need to bind the wounds of division”? Maybe a useful first step would be PUT DOWN THE FUCKING KNIFE.

Clinton is a classy lady and Obama is an officer and a gentleman.

Maybe I’ll be ready to move forward with a song in my heart tomorrow. I’m taking today, though.

And speaking of poking fun… I believe The Cheeto doesn’t fully understand the extent to which the POTUS is a target for stand-up comedy. If he stays in character, his bluster and buffonery will be meat on the hoof for the late-nite comics. If that comes to pass, he will have a VERY difficult time with it. His entire persona is about affirmation. Being the butt of half the jokes told on tv will eat constantly at his ego, likely leading to sudden outbursts of anger which will make him seem even less competent and stable. When he starts to realize that affirmation just isn’t coming any more, we could see a meltdown.

Posting again after a very long absence to offer my sympathy to all. This is gonna suck, I know that. Pretty much the same thing happened where I live, last year.

After Brexit and all other shit that happened in Europe, I honestly expected Trump to win. This is happening all over the world now. I might have hoped that USA would somehow be better than that, but no, it isn’t. I woke up today and the hope was gone.

I gotta say, I’m surprised how the reactions here are surprisingly similar to what happened where I live. People considering mass emigration or secession of parts of country, the backlash against people voting “3rd party” or claiming everyone was equally bad or voting “against the system” etc., calls to organize…

This is happening all over the world right now. It’s surreal.

And while it will suck for USA, I do live in Europe. For us this may well mean Putin making a deal with USA to let him make USSR great again. With war and/or occupation by an already fascist nation that it entails. Like Skiriki says.

I guess that would actually make Trump the second Hitler if it happened.

I’ll say one more thing. Don’t count on Trump’s edgelords to become disenchanted with him anytime soon. Remember: each loss is secretly a victory and each unfulfilled promise is just a proof that a conspiracy of omnipotent trans-feminist-Jews rules the world and is preventing USA from becoming a paradise.

Yeah, if he had trouble with the scrutiny involved in the election, I don’t know how he’s going to deal with the scrutiny involved in the presidency.

I wouldn’t put it past Trump to try to sue or arrest comedians that make fun of him. Or any journalist that’s critical of him.

I know how he’s gonna deal with it. Lawsuits, FBI investigations of media outlets and media personalities, and libel suits. Exactly like he said he was gonna do. Like the Trump T-Shirt says, Journalist + Rope + Tree.

Then there’s the “allies” I thought I knew…. [Name withheld], who has a cushy geek job making 6 figures, is “just glad to be a white male”… and [name redacted] is going to start “applying for (again, geek) jobs overseas”….

Reminds me of what happened to the white men in the anti-Viet Nam war movement the instant the draft ended.

@Tovius That’s what I see, too. Of course, I think he should be FLOODED with caricatures in his e-mail/twitter as a result. 🙂

Yes, Trump is likely a one-termer, but that doesn’t help. The SCOTUS is lost for a generation now. The damage his policies do to the environment is forever. The people who are deported or killed because of his presence or actions or inactions can’t have that undone. “It’s just 4 years” is not a consolation to me and it shouldn’t be to anyone else.

Handsome "Punkle Stan" Jack

I try to keep telling myself that we still have the electoral college, and it seems most people voted for Clinton even if the popular vote was called for Trump.

We have a chance still.

And also fuck the state of the world when I’m happy the electoral college might not fuck us over.

Although if those Bernie or Buster fuckers ruin shit for us, fuck them. We should write letters/emails to make make sure they understand just how piss we will be if their refusal to vote fucks us over.

EDIT: Wait, are we already fucked over? I don’t fucking know. I’m not in the right state of mind for this shit. I am very detached right now. Not numb, just tired. All my emotions have been converted into some weird, righteous anger.

Spite?

Maybe spite. But it’s not, like, overly powerful. IDK. Fuck white people is all.

Trump has already made noises to make it easier to sue people who make fun of him, and Thiel is all but happy to back it up for him.

It’s a done deal. The Electoral margin was so big it would take a major revolt for the College to not elect The Cheeto. I don’t see 35 electors jumping ship, even a ship as leaky as this one.

Hi everyone, thanks for your support.

I called the emergency service and turns out they sent two police officers, who arrived way sooner than the ambulance.

It was all very stressful, but the police woman was very kind and helpful, despite asking a lot of questions of course, and she called several times the medical service to make sure they were on their way.

The doctor said she’ll be okay, the worst of the crisis has passed, we slept a few more hours and now her best friend is also here and will take her to her psychologist and stay to make sure she’s fine.

Sorry for not checking back sooner. Thank you for all the good thoughts.

Dark times are coming. Stay strong, everyone.

Tell her there’s people who care for her and will fight her her and I will personally punch Trump in the face for her one day, I promise.

The results of the election remind me of that famous quote from George Orwell about Hitler.

Whereas Socialism, and even capitalism in a grudging way, have said to people “I offer you a good time,” Hitler has said to them “I offer you struggle, danger and death,” and as a result a whole nation flings itself at his feet”

And that’s the paradise the red pillers want: joy in bringing struggle, danger, and death to everyone who isn’t one of them. And us white people gave it them. Jesus.

It’s extremely hard not to give in to despair right now. For everyone thinking about it: don’t give up. A friend of mine is turning to video games as an escape to avoid indulging in alcohol and, thus, potentially relapsing into alcoholism. There’s always a better way than causing harm to yourself. Please be well.

Glad to hear that. All my sympathies and support to both of you.

@Tragedy of the Commas

And that’s the paradise the red pillers want: joy in bringing struggle, danger, and death to everyone who isn’t one of them.

For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle. Thus pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. It is bad because life is permanent warfare.

Handsome "Punkle Stan" Jack

Hillary Clinton will gain votes after Election Night. Here’s why.

Of course, the 2000 election showed that the result might not be settled so quickly. Considering how tight the polls have been, one or two battleground states may be too close to call Wednesday morning.

That would be good news for Hillary Clinton’s chances. She’ll probably take more of the mail-in and provisional ballots that can’t be counted until the days and weeks after the election. Whatever her vote share tonight, it will probably increase in the weeks to come. Let us explain.

Exactly! Although if you mean you thought I was saying they’re bringing a “struggle for life” to others, then I should clarify. Impose on many people a struggle to be able to live would be accurate. But I meant imposing that state of constant aggression that they love.
