@ Land Whale

We have nowhere to go but down.

I get the despair, for real. But I was laying in bed crying, trying to find some hope, and seems to me, we have nowhere to go but UP!!

No. Fuck that. I will not accept the role thrust upon me. We’ve made a whole of progress, and yes, Trump represents a step back, but he’s no reason to quit. Hell, he’s a reason to keep fighting.

To everyone thinking of giving up: don’t. This is not the time to lay down and die. THIS IS THE TIME TO GET ANGRY.

Dunno how to tag people but to the shithead who said it’s fun to watch America die, seriously, FUCK YOU. You are basically wishing death on me and my sisters. This is not a joke. It’s note cute. It’s not cheeky. It’s not funny. Millions of us have to live here with no choice and we don’t deserve this fucking bullshit and fuck you if you think we do! But please, do laugh at the next Holocaust. It’s fucking hilarious.

NO.

I really NEED you to go fuck yourself. I’m not asking. It NEEDS to be done….with a cactus….in your peehole….until you die.

Anisky, please don’t do anything stupid. While you’re alive things CAN get better. I have been there. Use one of the helplines people suggested upthread. Look after yourself.

I’m too busy thinking up nightmare scenarios and figuring how to deal with them to get angry. That’s just how I get when things go badly.

Anisky: Please, please hang on. Concentrate on getting through the next day. We are here for you.
We made it through Reagan. We made it through Bush. We made it through Other Bush, and we will make it through this. And to hell with all the racists, the sexists, the bigots of all stripes, the gloaters and the sneerers and the assholes, to hell with them all. Fuck ’em. We are going to make it through this.

@Anisky

I don’t know if I can help but I want to.
It’s your life, please keep it, don’t let other people shape it by changing what you stand for and who you are, once you are gone those are things you can no longer control, for yourself please remain; for all of us, even knowing you are there that understands how horrifying tonight feels is a huge relief.

Rudy Giuliani just declared that Trump’s victory is the greatest thing for the American people since Andrew Jackson:

Seriously, fuck you, Rudy.

Well, it’s certainly the most something since Andrew Jackson, though I don’t know why Giuliani would want to bring up that extraordinarily shitty presidency as an example.

Please don’t give up yet. I know things look grim, especially now that this battle is lost, but the war isn’t over. He isn’t president yet. We haven’t been defeated; there is still a chance as long as we keep fighting.

My life circumstances are such that I’m going to be moving into my parents’ basement at the beginning of next year, at the age of 32. I have no real prospects for anything better, and there’s no question that life is going to get worse under Trump. But every day that I live, I spit in the face of Trump and his supporters.

Let’s show them that they haven’t really won. Let’s make them regret ever voicing their hate. Let’s remind them every day what contemptible pieces of shit they really are. Let’s give the fuckers hell!

I’m anxious. I’m not even an American, but I’m scared of Drumpf starting a nuclear holocaust or something. And I try not to think about the fact that the man is a sexual predator and it did not discourage people to vote for him. For me personally, that is the cruelest part of the whole mess. Keep r*ping on, boys and men, there will never be any consequenses for you, you can even become a president after leaving someone fixing themselves after you

We don’t have good data on how many people in the US have white nationalist views, but it’s probably a significant number of people. Many white nationalists say they usually vote Republican, but others have liberal views on specific issues like unionization (only for white male workers, of course). Probably even more people are “on the fence” on white nationalism in terms of what exactly they believe. Trump appealed to all those people.

A few very radical Nazis were more ambivalent about him, but they’re probably a much smaller group compared to the broader white nationalists.

Okay. I’m going to bed. When I wake up, the news will say that either Putin or Comey was behind a plot to steal the election.

…Hey, one can dream.

I officially quit feminism. We can’t win. It’s over. Progress is dead. We have nowhere to go but down.

Bull shit!!!

Have some respect for Clinton and all the other women, including me, who’ve been plugging away at this shitty, shitty, shitty world for women and girls for over 40 years and taken personal bucketloads of insults, shit and violence in the process.

Clinton’s Foundation has done wonders for 10s of thousands of girls and women in the US and around the world. Not enough, but you have to start somewhere. If women in comfortable circumstances contributed regularly – just a little bit, but regularly – to international and local efforts to make things better, things would get better in some places. The more of those places there are, the more women there will be who can contribute further. I realise that for women in the US this is back to the barricades on escort duty at PP Centres, but that’s something definite some people can do to support some specific women.

Never, never, never, ever give up.

I eventually got my own bank account, my own credit card, my own car, my own equal pay job without any man having to speak for me or to sign documents for me. I even got a no fault divorce from the drunkard, my first husband. That was all in the 70s and we’d had the vote here since the 1890s – 20+ years before the US and the UK.

There’s a heavy burden to shift and we’re better with the maximum number of shoulders to lift and just as many supporters to cheer us on – silently if they have to be that way for the time being. We don’t need anyone who could support us turning their back and telling us it’s hopeless. We had the “Women Who Want to be Women” and other women’s groups telling us to go home, shut up and have babies alongside the priests and the politicians in the 60s, 70s and beyond.

We didn’t need them then. We don’t need them now.
If you really feel that way, keep a diary or write an essay. Then burn the paper they were written on. Don’t discourage other women who need every kind word that comes their way.

Anisky, hang in there. You feel despair right now, I know that. But tomorrow is another day. And another day follows that. Your will to live will return.

We need you right here on planet Earth. And not incidentally, the Earth needs you. It too is under attack, and you can help.

Call a hotline. Email a Mammotheer. Stay strong, stay safe.

We all need to stay strong, stay safe. Mammotheers, take very good care of yourselves. We have quite a challenge on our hands!

Many of us have lived through hard times. I lived for 18 years with my father, who, like Donald Trump, was a fascist. I feel like I’ve got some experience with this kind of situation. I think my experience might come in handy.

Keep calm and carry on.

Never, never, never, ever give up.

Right. Because we have no alternative.

On the other hand,

I officially quit feminism. We can’t win. It’s over. Progress is dead. We have nowhere to go but down.

is an understandable cry of despair. Sometimes you just have to vent.

Here’s my idea: Let’s be a painful thorn in this new administration’s side!

@Anisky, I wanna delurk to add to the support that others are showing you and second what others have said more eloquently.

@Anyone calling progress dead – If it means anything, I think the race was too close to call progress dead yet. Drumpf did not win in a landslide and just barely slid by on the popular vote from what I can see. 47.48% for Clinton and 47.72% for the Orange Clown at this time.

This with Hillary being an unpopular candidate to begin with due to the tainted Clinton (talking more about Bill) name.

Hate-Pump wins 350 electoral votes and 70% popular vote? Yeah, then I’ll say the best possible scenario, IMO, is that those who didn’t vote Rump (and even many who DID) are able to leave the country swiftly.

We have an up-hill battle – business as usual it seems. You brave people (many with stories I’ve read multiple times while reading this blog) and your ancestors have always been fighting upwards against the forces of Giant Talking Assholes since… well, tell me how long humanity has been around.

I don’t know, maybe it’s also too early to be making these kinds of poorly put together speeches.

Just, for now, be safe. Again, if it means anything, I really do like this blog.

Speaking of contributions as I was, has anyone seen any signs of a fund starting to finance someone suing Jim Comey for dereliction of duty or malfeasance in office or some other perfectly obvious violation of the trust invested in his public office?
