Same.

Fuck, how did it come to this?

I want to apologize to my minority friends. I genuinely believed what I was saying when I thought it was, you know, ten percent of assholes making 90% of the racist noise. Even if the miracle occurs and HRC wins, this is still an unacceptable tally.

I’m not surprised. It’s why he loves the poorly educated. They’re easily influenced and lack critical thinking skills.

I don’t think this makes a difference at this point but 538 just posted that Trump is predicted to finish with the lowest popular vote total since Clinton won his first term back in 1992.

@WWTH

Maybe it’s bad to say, but I will not feel one shred of sympathy for anyone who voted Trump or a third party candidate if they face some sort of hardship because of this.

I will actively gloat, frankly. I will point and laugh like Nelson Fucking Muntz. I will say I told you so, I will say they did it to themselves, and I will tell them I hope their situation gets worse.

@AthVeg34

I wonder where I can go, or how far I can go on a small $10,000. That off-grid commune sounds excellent right about now, y’all.

I’m trying. When I can fight past the despair.
@Handsome Jack

I also hope my niece, nephew and cousins come out of this okay.

I’m terrified for myself and everyone I know, and glad my Muslim cousin, her black husband, and their kids, got the fuck out of here and live in Liberia now.

That’s exactly what keeps running through my head. I am just north of the WA border in Canada, and I am absolutely reeling. This entire thing has a feeling of unreality to me. I worry so much for all of my friends in America if that man becomes president.

Handsome "Punkle Stan" Jack

That means activism and rallies, that means writing letters and making phone calls. Choke their mail-boxes with letters, make them hire a bank of secretaries to handle the complaints. I don’t know if there’s an alternative to that at this point.

I’d HOPE that’s all it will take, but I doubt it. People have been doing that for over 100 years and it’s brought us progress, yes, but slow and painful, and look what has happened. We need to do all we can to make sure as many people can be saved as quickly as possible if shit goes down.

We can’t let Japanese internment camps happen with Muslim people. We can’t let the KKK rise again. We can’t let people get deported. We need action and we need force.

I’m not saying we need it NOW but we need to be prepared for doing things IF things come to it. I’m still hoping that Trump and Pence will be full of hot air, that a Republican majority in House and Senate won’t be what i think it is but I’ll be damned if we should let it get bad.

People will be trampling over my cooling corpse with their jackboots when ANYTHING Trump says comes true.

I’m terrified for myself and everyone I know, and glad my Muslim cousin, her black husband, and their kids, got the fuck out of here and live in Liberia now.

I’ll never forgive my uncle, who lives in Israel, for voting Trump. But I hope if anything happens to Israel, his family doesn’t get anything less than they deserve, because I don’t doubt any of his 12 children also voted Trump.

Why the fuck he would vote Trump is beyond me. What makes Trump attractive to an Orthodox Jewish man? That he isn’t a woman? It disgusts me.

Perhaps the most disastrous consequence of this election is not Trump’s election itself, but that his election has emboldened the loathsome crew of bigots that supported him, and we can expect hate-related violence perpetrated by them — and other violence against them.

O that there were a hell, that Christopher Columbus might roast in it! For it was he that introduced slavery to the Americas, and that slavery inspired racism against non-whites, which plagues us to this very day, half a millennium later. That execrable mass of void crabs disguised as a human, who rose to his current station on the very same racism, is but six electoral votes from one of the world’s largest nuclear arsenals.

AP just called PA for Trump. If the results pan out, I think that’s the nail in the coffin.

Last time I checked under international law you could cross a border illegal if you made your presence known and requested asylum in a timely fashion.

@eli too bad its not ours.

I fucking hope it turns out that this election has the highest amount of voting fraud in USA history.

Just to share more strength and inspiration, because it’s either that or total despair, this time from Zoe Quinn: “this is not the end. even if all you can do as a marginalized person is live in defiance of these fuckers, that’s still resistance. I see y’all trying to shout me down like I don’t know community care won’t stop nukes. Cool. Go ahead and wait for shit to get worse I guess. In the meantime I’d rather not roll over and watch people suffer simply because I can’t save the world by myself. Small shit matters too. Be there for people who need it. Speak out against bigotry. Uplift & support suppressed peoples. Live in defiance if that’s all you can do.”

I agree, Jack, but you gotta start somewhere, and letters and phone calls are the best place to start. They can ignore a tweetstorm, but they will have a harder time ignoring a million-person march on Wall Street and on D.C. You gotta show’em that you’re ready to storm the fucking Bastille.

I have to try to sleep, friends. Remember to breathe calmly and to focus on things away from the election from time to time. I will see you tomorrow, when we can put the pieces back together and keep going forward.

Yeah, same for me. Good night everyone. I want to say more, but after all I have already said, I’m out of words. Maybe tomorrow we’ll have something worth smiling about.

@Dalillama

Honestly, gloating won’t even work. Apparently the US dollar is going down in value or something already?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-11-06/world-s-best-currency-forecasters-see-dollar-rout-on-trump-win

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/world-markets-us-presidential-election-1.3842836

“Overall, the scene was reminiscent of the turmoil that engulfed global financial markets after the June Brexit vote, when British voters opted to leave the European Union in a decision that wiped trillions of dollars of value off global markets.” (from second article linked)

I found out through my mom, who said, “They’re all shook up because of Trump winning so the dollar is going down because China and Mexico don’t want to do business with us anymore” (not sure that’s what’s really happening but it’s what she said.) I told her, “Hope you’re glad you voted for Trump then.” She replied, “You bet I am!”

Gloating will do nothing. Whatever bad happens, is just “proof” he’s shaking up the system. She is PROUD the dollar might be in decline because of her. How can she think that this is a GOOD thing. ANY of it. Proof it was a bad decision makes her PROUD.

Sorry if those articles were already linked before or if this has already been talked about on the forum. I have been lurking since this thread started, but I’m very bad at online discussion

edit: I guess one of those is an older article (by a few days) and the other is from yesterday so idk where she read that it’s going down now. so now idk what’s real or not haha. like I said sorry I am bad at online discussions and am not as smart as all a lot of you

someone just posted this on facebook

“In Florida we continue to receive a substantial amount of complaints about voter intimidation,” said Kristen Clarke, president of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, which is running an independent effort to field voter complaints and questions.

Clarke said her group received reports from Miami-Dade County of “yelling, people using megaphones aggressively.” In Jacksonville, in the northeast corner of the state, Clarke said, “an unauthorized individual was found inside [a] polling place.”

This person was at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, a polling precinct in what Clarke described as a part of Jacksonville with predominantly black residents.

“He was asked to leave and refused,” she said. “Through our intervention and calls, that individual has been removed. Unauthorized individuals have no place in the polls.”

During early voting, Clarke’s group also received reports from Hollywood, Fla., about “aggressive individuals hovering around individuals as they approach the polling site,” she said during a briefing with reporters. “Some have turned away because they did not feel able to freely cast [a] ballot.”

Clarke said her group has received reports from about 80,000 voters since the beginning of early voting and expects that figure to reach 175,000 reports by the time the polls close. In 2012, the group received 90,000 calls total on Election Day.

Top of the hour, Trump is in the lead with 218 v 266.

Reps are in the lead, 47 v 49, in the Senate.

Reps have the House, 175 v 232.

And I am going to go lay in my room, in the dark, and listen to the Night Vale. The multi-headed dragon has won, but I hope my second presidential election isn’t my last.

I’m Canadian and I’m devastated. It feels like evil has won. It also shows that even the most incompetent of men is valued more than a woman. I’m very heartbroken. My heart goes out to everyone in America who DIDN’T vote for this wanker.

I was just thinking that maybe there’s one good thing which might come from this – the US might decline as a global power, which is a good thing in the long run. We’d never get that under a president Clinton.

But the short-term price… would most likely be horrendous, both to the US and some other countries. It’s probably not worth it.
