Well, today is going much, much differently than I thought it would.

I really believed that not only would reason win out, but that it would overwhelmingly win out.

So sad. So very sad.

My boyfriend’s been watching a movie. I had to give him the semibad news earlier.

I really don’t want to have to give him bad news.

He’s pretty stoic though. I may have to learn to be more stoic.

Hang in there, Mammotheers!

I voted already but am so scared about…everything. Even as a (pretty) straight white guy, I still am scared that the world’s most racist Oompa-Loompa is going to set this country back by 50 years. If nothing else, my friends and followers, and the people that I follow, aren’t all straight white men. Hell, my best friends are girls, and even a fair number of my guy friends are pretty gay. Gosh, I just don’t know what’s going to happen anymore. Maybe I should have put stocks into Smith and Wesson last week or something, I’d be a millionaire by the end of this month.

As of now we really, really need NH, MI, WI, if she can nab those, she can just barely eek out a victory. My mother moved to this country because she wanted something better, 20 years later, this is what she gets to see the type of land her kids and grandkids are going to have to live in.

I really, really, do not want to see any of you get hurt because of this horrid man and his goons.

Paradoxical Intention - Resident Cheeseburger Slut

I am honestly so terrified right now. I kept checking the numbers while I was at work, and I almost had a nervous breakdown.

I’ve just spent the past five minutes crying my eyes out.

I’m so scared for my friends, I’m terrified for Jackie, and I sincerely can’t believe this is happening.

I hope all those “I’m not going to vote for the lesser of two evils!” people are sincerely pleased with themselves. [/bitter]

I mean… there has to be a contributing factor there of him being so anti-establishment and brash in comparison to Hillary, whose narrative has been that she is untrustworthy for so long now. However, that really should not be much of a factor when you counterpoint that with the awful things Trump has said and done, combined with his absolute lack of substantive policy, which would demonstrate to me that the racism/sexism really are the big pluses for a terrifying number of voters (although I’d still say that there’d be maybe a 50-50 split between anti-establishment and full-on assholes).

I’m wondering how much the FBI reinvestigation announcement has played into this, and how much the electorate would have been swayed even 3 weeks ago. Voters can be… fickle.

So much bigotry….hence, skipping the “family” thanksgiving. The last “family” party was terrible bigotry, bigotry all over the place. So ugly.

If mom guilts me into driving her, I’m seriously waiting in the car.

My partner and I voted for that Nasty Woman (hehe) and our little county in Indiana came down to 228 votes giving her a 0.2% lead. Sadly, the rest of the state crapped the bed except for Gary, IN, so Trump is going to carry Indiana. Not surprising since his running mate is our former governor and religious Nazi overlord. Ug.

This all comes down to one thing: Name recognition. Trump has been in the news almost 24/7 for months now because our media is almost totally ratings-driven, and because of his blabber mouth, he brings in ratings. He’s a celebrity (and a shitty, misogynistic one at that), not a politician, but the media doesn’t care because they’re seeing dollar signs when they look at their ratings. They are more “SPQR” and less ethical reporting.

Well, Jill Stein at least is very fucking smug. “I think we’re going to see buyer’s remorse tomorrow.”

Well, it’s 1.45 pm here in Australia and I’ve caved to the siren call of wine. Luckily I’m going into psychiatric hospital tomorrow for my chronic depression, because I’m pretty sure today is going to exacerbate the hell out of it!

Even if (when. WHEN.) Hillary pulls ahead and takes the presidency, the fact that this race was even remotely in doubt makes me very sad for humanity.

USians needing to flee a Trumptatorship, my air bed is very comfy. No doubt our racists will be fired up by such a situation, though, so the rest of the country might not be for very long 🙁

Well… I’m ready to call it. Disgusting. I’m giving up on this fucking country. It’s unfixable.

Not sure if I can have any future contact with my in-laws.

Hey fam, just dropping this in here: http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/virginia/

They’re saying Hillary is 85.5% favored to win the 13 electoral votes in Virginia. It’s going to be close, but if she can snag some traditionally red states, she’s got this in the bag.

I’m really holding out hope for Clark County Nevada going heavily blue and swinging Nevada in to the mix with 6 electoral votes. I think we can more or less count on WA, OR, CA, and HI going blue. That’s going to be 78 electoral votes right there.

Handsome "Punkle Stan" Jack

My dad just said he voted Trump because he wants to see the Democrats and Republicans destroyed–he, in fact, called Trump a Democrat and said he’s “richer and God so no one can buy him”.

My mom said she voted third party because she couldn’t figure out the lesser evil, she thinks Clinton doesn’t respect herself because she stayed with Bill.

So I hope they’re happy when I and others get taken away for being queer, when Muslims get rounded up in concentration camps, when Latinx get deported and people killed because their votes put in a dictator.

We may — may — have to cry some big tears over this. We’ll see.

But after this election, no matter how it goes, we’ll be even tougher.

Stay strong, Mammotheers!

Factoring in Guaranteed blue states alongside the leading Blue states, that makes 245, That still leaves 25 votes needed. We need MI and WI. It’s Trump now has 197 votes. He is only 73 votes away from becoming president. I am frightened.

If Trump wins, hopefully he was just full of hot air all along. I remember in my wingnut days fearing that Obama would destroy America and turn it into a dynasty. (I am duly embarrassed.) But that stuff came from my fevered, self-scaring interpretation of conservative talk radio, and not Obama himself….

I’m empty now. My best friend doesn’t know what’s going on. She can’t. She’ll be just as happy as always tomorrow. I’ll go on tomorrow. She needs breakfast. Fuck

61 more electoral votes. Pull it out remaining states. How the fuck is MN not called for Clinton yet? Ugh!
