Florida’s gonna be super close. And I have a work meeting to attend right when things start getting really announced. Ughhhh.
Fortunately it’s a call-in meeting! Alcohol, my one true friend.

I swear we did our best! It looked good when I voted last week but….fingers crossed.
No surprises, Trump leading in my state. Not much I can do. I really don’t remember how we managed to elect a Democratic senator and governor on the last go-round for those offices. I don’t expect anyone I voted for to be elected 🙁
I think every R candidate this cycle has had commercials with them shooting guns.
And I’m really interested to see how our judge votes go. There’s one incompetent guy people have been trying to have removed for the last few elections, but no one pays attention to the races, info is impossible to come by and he just keeps getting kept.
And tonight….tequila! I HAD to buy some for some stuffed poblanos I’m making on Thursday. I just HAD to.
48% for Clinton, 49% for Trump. It’s really neck and neck in Florida.
Wish I’d got that brandy to go with the too-sweet egg nog I got last week.
tee hee :3
I have been gone too long. I lack any eye-rolling pony gifs.
@eli, that’s one of the things I find disturbing about the US system, that there are elections for judges, sheriffs etc. The last thing I’d want if I was facing legal trouble is dealing with a judge whose decision might be influenced by what effect it has on his chances of re-election. Of course we do end up with bad judges in Canada, where they’re all appointed, but if they screw up they’re easier to get rid of.
How does one site show NJ light pink and the other says Clinton won NJ?
How did my state just turn light blue?
Mebbe I should go kill zombies for a while….
@tim gueguen
I think that is dependent on the state. Hereabouts, judges are appointed by the governor, ratified by the state senate, but face retention elections. It really is nigh on impossible to find anything out about them. The only information I could find was from the state bar and that was lawyers voting on whether judges should be retained. All judges, except one, had 96-100% favorable ratings.
That last guy 0%. He’s had 0% the last two election cycles. He is still a judge.
@falconer
You can have one of mine
eeep okay let’s see how long I can stand watching these results come in… I’m Canadian, but genuinely afraid about how these results will affect our local blow-hards. :/
I have a bottle of ginger beer, I’m ready!
it looks like Hillary is winning New Hampshire, so I won’t have to not talk to my grandfather
… I feel sorry for Peter Mansbridge, this is going to be along night for him.

I hope you are right. Meanwhile I’m guzzling so much orange juice and rice pastries that I’m getting a bit giddy.
It’s the top of the hour, and currently, Clinton in is the lead 68 v 66. Dems in the lead with 40 v 37 in the Senate. Reps in the lead with 88 v 54 in the House.
Estimated time of ballots being counted is around 8 PST, so two more hours.
EDIT: Scratch that, 97 v 123 for Trump, 42 v 40 for Dems in the Senate, 61 v 90 for Reps in the House.
Still no swing states called. Might be in for a long night and possibly recounts.
I’ll feel better if there’s good news just somewhere. I hate waiting for those slow to report Democratic areas!
*de-lurks*
I don’t know what the results are, because I was counting on my roommate to have the news on–and, right as I was coming home from work, he put on the sci-fi channel. *rolls eyes* I’m wondering about Florida, North Carolina, and Nevada in particular.
Full disclosure: I’m wondering if I’m going to need drugs to get through the evening.
*starts semi-lurking*
Me and my fiancee did our part and voted for Clinton in Florida. Let’s hope it pays off!
Also I’m so jealous of all of you drinking tonight! I have to work from 8:30 am until 7:30 pm tomorrow and can’t risk being hungover so its horrific sobriety for me.
When Clinton wins we will get nice and plastered in her honor
Eeeeesh.
If Hillary loses Virginia, she pretty much has to win Florida. And both races are neck-and-neck. Virginia was supposed to be a comfortable win for her.
Florida and NC are leading red. Nevada will be a while still because west coast.
XD “Keep in mind, in declared states, all of these are expected.” Thanks, Peter Mansbridge, for letting us know that we shouldn’t be panicking at 125 trump to 97 Clinton.
