My assumption had been that every ‘murican Christian has to somehow reconcile the fact that a literal reading of the Gospel says that Christ hates rich people, and that we’re living in the richest country on Earth, which is a hurdle that bible literalists in Africa don’t have to cross.
But, it wouldn’t surprise me if the missionaries we sent to Africa had a far-right interpretation of our religion. It often seems to work out that way.

She’s been up in the polls throughout the whole election season and was generally regarded to have won all 3 debates. Plus she has a better ground game, there will be more and superior GOTV on her side.
People are worried because a Trump presidency is scary as fuck. He promised to put justices who would overturn Roe v Wade on the Supreme Court. He’s promising to make stop and frisk a national policy. Etc. He’s bad news for people who aren’t cishet white men and privileged enough to see the two candidates as equivalent because they wouldn’t personally be harmed by Trump very much. Of course, people are nervous and will be until the results are in. That doesn’t mean Clinton is running a bad campaign or is losing. You should stop being so smug about your superiority when you have no idea what you’re talking about. You should change your name to Gert Dunning-Kruger

I’m starting to believe that at least a few people at the DOJ have it in for Clinton. Why are these little nuggets constantly released on Friday? Why did this one come out when there is clearly no news to release about it? Why was this letter sent over the objections of the higher-ups and why is it so vague so that literally anything can be read into it?
My read is that Weiner’s wife sent some emails to Clinton, emails that Clinton had either deleted as too minor to keep or not turned over as personal business. There’s no hint at this time that there is anything nefarious in them, and the explanation Comey gave for his little letter is that he pinkie-swore to Congress that he would keep them fully updated at all times no matter what kind of whiff of a rumor came in on Clinton’s email.
There doesn’t seem to be any “there” there. I think there are a very small number of these emails, so examining them shouldn’t take long. In fact, they should have been examined before the letter was sent, so that the letter actually contained information instead of coy insinuations. The wording of the letter seems almost deliberately provocative. I don’t think there’s any doubt that there are some people in government who don’t like Clinton, and I don’t think it’s beyond possibility that at least one of them is in the DOJ and responsible for this constant trickle of email bullshit.

If we didn’t have so much shit, I’d wouldn’t mind the US helping other countries, too, but with so much shit happening, it’s just, like, can we just take a few years off, not getting in a war for a bit? Not meddle with other’s affairs? Try to focus more on domestic things? Not that it’s gonna happen, it’s just as idealistic as you wanting the US to help people ASAP–although, like, I don’t consider taking in refugees to be, like, meddling with affairs and stuff. That’s people coming to us rather we going to them.
