After that Access Hollywood tape of Trump bragging that his fame allowed him to get away with sexually assault women on a whim, his supporters and surrogates seized on what they saw as the ultimate rebuttal to Trump’s critics. Borrowing the argument from a meme that had already been circulating on the Internet for some time, they declared that they were “much more bothered by what Hillary has done than by what Trump has said.”
This argument would be a lot more convincing if a) Trump hadn’t been talking about things he claimed to have, you know, done, if b) women weren’t coming forward to tell media that he had in fact done these things to them and if c) Trump’s apologists were actually bothered by Trump’s claims.
While there are no doubt some Trump supporters who are genuinely troubled by Trump’s remarks, many of his most fervent followers think his comments (and presumably the actions he was describing) are hilarious. To many Trump superfans in the Alt-Right, Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. And they have made it into their new favorite Trump meme.
In the latest “Memetic Monday” thread on Internet Nazi tabloid The Daily Stormer, you will find, alongside the standard racist caricatures and Hitler jokes and “Hillary for Prison” memes, a wide assortment of “grab ’em by the pussy” memes created by Daily Stormer readers or borrowed from other sites — some of them slick, some of them amateurish, and none of them funny.
Here are some of them. You will notice that some of the meme-makers have managed to work in some of their other favorite subjects — Hitler, Hillary being jailed, and even (I regret to have to tell you this) kittens. In the interest of keeping this post more-or-less safe for work, I’ve avoided the worst of the batch.
Of course, the “grab ’em by the pussy” memes were not the only jokes about sexual assault in the thread. Because these are neo-Nazi Trump fans, and that’s just how they roll.
Trump 2016: Every Day is a New Low.
EDIT: Added a reference to the women who have come forward to say that Trump had indeed sexually assaulted them.
Yeah, I do, lol.
Throw in the smell of sulpher and you have the Alex Jones Demon Detection Trifecta.
@JoeB
And then there was this call, which I had the misfortune of hearing. To me the woman here, Molly, sounds like a FeMRA and/or a misogynist’s totally submissive dream girl.

How are they not sure that Obama or Clinton is not, in fact, farting in their general direction?
I saw the Rush quote when George Takei retweeted it. I know the quote is absolutely horrible, but I just fell to the floor laughing hysterically as I read it.
I couldn’t stop saying, “What is happening?” as I struggled to gather my breath.
Strange time to write for The Onion, is all I can say.
Oh beautiful, now Trump is going to sue the New York Times. Huzzah! Trump will make America great again by undermining freedom of the press!

Sorry, but that was obligatory. As is this:
c̶o̶n̶s̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶s̶e̶x̶y̶
c̶o̶n̶s̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶a̶g̶i̶c̶ ̶k̶e̶y̶
consent is fucking required
PeeVee the (Noice) Sarcastic:
What’s really amazing is that the full context is even more messed up. Basically it’s the act itself that objectively defines virtue or not. That’s the only way to judge it. One man + one woman = OK One man + one man = baad One 2 women + 3 men = Bad! One woman and 6 men = The woman is bad, the men are OK if they didn’t interact, but bad if they did. (this math is my own interpretation, not actually in Rush’s rant.)
So as long as a man has sex with a woman, there is wiggle room in the whole consent thing, because the act of a man and woman is virtuous. But the bad ones are bad no matter what. Since the “left” focuses on consent, all the morality of the acts are relative so there’s no real way to judge anything, therefore it’s all bad.
Here is more from him…
*sigh*
(In case any alt right person reading this is thinking I didn’t answer the question, the answer is that the standard of consent. He was bragging about forcing himself on women without their consent.)
@Bina
That kitten gif is amazing!
Tessa:
Oh, I know, I know.
I just find it appallingly laughable that the old windbag would even try to pontificate on morals, seeing as his are not above reproach…and shows that by implying consent is somehow now immoral…
Sigh.
How is consent subjective? It is the most god damned objective thing there is – you either have it or you do not for whatever you are talking about doing.
But no subjectivity in the interpretation of this millennials old piece of text that has been translated dozens of times and is frequently written in archaic prose, oh no, that’s our “objective” standard.
It really makes one wonder – how DOES Rush define rape if not by a lack of consent??
@Flora
Ethnicity of the rapeist?
Um… Buhuh. Because that’s… that’s what rape is. “You know, those dirty leftists, they’re cool with all kinds of martial arts, even the ones that are bad and naughty (for mysterious reasons I won’t elaborate on now, but are definitely real and not just made up in my head). Leftists are cool with people throwing elbows, they’ll watch 3 or more people all fighting at once, hell, they don’t even care what the ring dimensions are. But man, you have one person being beat up against their will, and here come the assault police.” UM YEAH I SHOULD HOPE SO.
Flora:
It’s not that consent is subjective, they don’t care about consent. It’s what the act is. We aren’t judging the acts. whether the act is “good” or “bad” is up to the individuals to choose. That’s what is subjective. And to them that is horrible.
Also, Rush has stated that he believes that “no can sometimes mean yes” and that consent rules in some colleges take the “fun” and “seduction” out of sex… So I’m scared to wonder what his definition is.
Heard it put well today, on The Young Turks, when talking about this stuff. Conservatives are working from a different premise of morality. Morality is about following tradition, not having compassion or doing good. It’s about believing what your ancestors did, and maintaining that status quo – or, better yet, trying to return to a golden age.
In other words, literally regressive.
It all seems to fall in place more neatly when you look at it that way.
Uh, Rush, the ‘rape police’ are the actual police. But, well, a guy who brings Viagra to a well-known underaged sex tourism destination is probably gonna have weird ideas about consent…
@Scildfreja
Could you please share the link to that episode? I swear I’ve read read an article a few days ago about that, and I’m desperately trying to dig it up again.
Wow. He…he really doesn’t understand consent at all, does he?
News flash, Rush: Animals are unable to consent, minors also can’t consent, only humans of legal adult age can consent, you fucking loser.
Other things that require consent include:
– Hosting a party in someone else’s home
– Charging someone’s credit card
– Starting a joint business venture
– Getting married
– Taking someone on a car ride
Shockingly enough, all of these become crimes when you don’t have the consent of everyone involved.
This is crossing the meme streams so I apologize, but shitting on Rush’s floor would require his consent for someone else to do morally.
ETA P.S. the Rush quote still throws me for a loop, he’s on a standard right wing “your sex makes Jesus sad” angle then starts attacking the idea of consent being required. I get, but don’t agree with, saying some consensual acts aren’t ok, think of the baby jesus and all. He continues though into WTF is he talking about if not justifying sexual assault and rape?
Talk about Poe’s Law. If I just saw them on their own I would have thought these were anti-trump.
@ Scildfreja Unnýðnes
On a similar note I thought this article was very interesting
http://www.vox.com/2016/2/5/10918164/donald-trump-morality
It’s about moral foundation theory, that humans have six different pillars for morality (care, proportionality, liberty, loyalty, authority and sanctity) and different people prioritize them differently. The article looks at how the supporters of different primary candidates stack up.
Personally the find here that surprised me most was that Huckabee fans came third in empathy.
@skybison
Even in this graph Jeb Bush has nothing. Nothing notable like empathy or despicable like blind authority.
@skybison @Ooglyboggles
Why he might’ve beaten HRC if the primary had gone that way, he was more blandly centrist than even her. Instead they went with the trash fire in a poorly fitted suit.
I hope “Rush V” doesn’t start writing travel books as well.
