Racism can be so confusing!
Consider the case of everyone’s favorite racist dickhead fantasy author, Theodore “Vox Day” Beale. Ever since he discovered, two years ago, that his DNA contained enough Native American blood “to qualify for membership in most Indian tribes,” Beale has been using these DNA results to do a sort of end-run around accusations of racism.
How can he be a racist, much less a white supremacist, if he’s technically a “Person of Color,” specifically “a real Indian, complete with tribe, reservation, casino, and language” (that he of course does not speak). It’s a “gotcha” he loves to pull out every time someone points to any of the incredibly racist things he’s said over the years.
Now this little rhetorical gambit of his is starting to backfire. Turns out Beale’s identification of himself as a “Native American” isn’t exactly endearing him to the hardcore white supremacists of the Alt Right.
And so Beale, who very much wants to be not only a member but a big name in the Alt-Right club, has decided to invent a whole new category of Alt Right for people like him. Or perhaps just him.
In a blog post today, Beale divides the Alt Right into three groups: The Alt-White, the Alt-Lite, and the Alt-West. The Alt-White consists of the unrepentantly white supremacist Daily Stormer crowd. The Alt-Lite is made up of Pepe-posting anime Nazis who, in his mind, don’t really count as serious Alt-Rightists at all.
And then there is the Alt-West, which consists, as far as I can tell, of no one but Beale himself.
Beale tries to explain the details of this particular sorting system, but his efforts really only serve to muddy things further.
Alt-White is for whites only. Alt-West is pan-racial and pan-national, which should not be confused with being multicultural or equalitarian or pro-diversity in the egalitarian sense.
Beale is the only “pan-racialist” I’ve ever run across who not only rails against white women dating black men, but who actually went so far as to mock a “coal burning” white woman who was recently murdered by her black boyfriend. Beale’s take? “Burn de coal, pay de toll.”
Alt-White is primarily concerned with white nationalism, and secondarily concerned with European nationalisms. … While the Alt-West supports white nationalism, that is not its sole concern, as it supports all nationalism, European or otherwise.
Distinction without a difference.
Alt-White is neutral to hostile on Christianity. Alt-West is strongly pro-Christian, as it believes Christianity to be one of the three pillars of Western Civilization aka the historical Christendom.
But don’t worry, aspiring Alt-Westerners! You don’t actually have to do more than pay a vague lip-service to the idea of Christianity!
Pro-Christian includes, but does not require, actually being a Christian.
And then comes what the Nazi types like to call the Jewish Question.
Alt-White is hostile to very hostile to all Jews everywhere. Alt-West is friendly to Israeli Jews while hostile to globalist Jews and anti-nationalist Jews.
So Beale is fine with Jews just so long as they don’t live in his neighborhood. Or his country. Or indeed any country other than Israel.
But perhaps the most revealing bit is Beale’s take on literal Hitler and the literal Nazis.
Alt-White has a romantic view of National Socialism. Alt-West regards it as a suicidally stupid but semiotically useful form of German nationalism.
Er, what?
So Beale’s main criticism of the Nazis is that … they were kind of stupid for invading Russia and dooming themselves to defeat? But, hey, they had the coolest logo?
Aside from these little differences, Beale assures any Alt-Whities reading his post that
Alt-White and Alt-West are largely in accord. … [W]ith the possible exception of Christianity in the long term, there is very little reason for conflict between Alt-White and Alt-West … .
Also, white people are totally awesome!
There are much bigger battles ahead than settling the question of whether Christianity is a necessary component of Western Civilization or not. Because we know the white race is absolutely a necessary component of it, and that is why, whether one is inclined towards the Alt-White or the Alt-West, every member of the Alt-Right who values both whites and the West has immediate and mid-range objectives remain exactly the same.
Mighty white of you, Ted. Mighty white of you.
White supremacists have been adding races to the category of “white people” since the very beginning, in order to get more allies against their enemy (who is obviously black).
Back in the 1800s, Polish, Slavic, Irish, and Italian people weren’t considered “white”, and in fact were heavily discriminated against. Then the discriminators saw their little demographic shrinking, and decided to extend the olive branch.
He sounds like those white people who try to defend appropriating native american and first nations stuff for the sake of being “fashionable”.
“I’m not being racist, I’m 1/36th Indian!”
First of all, “Indian” refers to people from India, because Christopher Columbus was an arrogant motherfucker who couldn’t admit that he was full of shit. The term you’re looking for is “native american” or “First Nations”.
Second of all, you can be racist and be a person of color. Being a person of color, no matter how much (or how little in Pox’s case), is not a fucking Get out of Being a Racist Free card. Any person of color can be racist to other people of color, and thus any person of Pox’s “color” and beliefs is still a racist piece of shit.
Look at him, trying so hard to sound like an intellectual.
I saw that previous post where he was literally whining about what he calls the alt-white crowd and how they are purists only for those who are 100% white. This is the dude who has been dropping word like “mudsharking” and “negrification” and says that if he had been around in 1860 he would have fought for the US South IN DEFENSE OF SLAVERY (which, I would presume, means that if he had been around in 1850 he would have been working as a bounty hunter for fugitive slaves).
Dude is so fucking gross. What’s even more amazing is how many pixels he expends yammering about his IQ and he doesn’t see the cognitive dissonance for things like this.
More Big Words he doesn’t understand for Beale to work into his posts:
aegis chthonic polysemy prolix antediluvian fantod
Hate group splinters, turns to eat its own, the guy on the business end flails to try to repair his connection with hate. Imagine that.
Hey, Vox, news flash for you: you (and Milo and Roosh) being what you are is what keeps the alt-right together, in opposition to, and contempt of, you. If you were fully accepted, they would splinter in another way to create some enemies, because that’s what hate groups do. Haters gonna hate.
Just accept your position on the left-hand path and own it, dude.
Hey, I love big words just as much as the next bookworm.
But big words can’t take the place of a missing soul.
Tox Bay is really the single most boring internet nazi. What a fucking snooze fest.
@Paradoxical Intention – Resident Cheeseburger Slut
Depends on who you talk to. Some people prefer “Indian.” Some reject the term “Native American.”

@ lady mondegreen & Paradoxy
Yeah, I met a lawyer who’s involved very much in the political scene about that (also animal rights, which was the original connection) and she’s very adamant that she’s Indian.
She doesn’t like ‘American’ because that’s the occupier and ‘native’ because of the derogatory associations. Probably fair to say the group she’s associated with is a bit on the radical side of things. Although when you hear about everything from wounded knee to the trail of tears it’s hard to disagree with her.
That’s not how tribal membership works. Being a Seminole member does not mean you’re an Ojibwe or Hopi member. What a turdgoblin.
So even within a ethnically and ideologically homogeneous group, diversity still finds a way to rear it’s head? Well, well, well. Fancy that.
Yeah, nope…
Wrong again, Ted
The shit?
Of course…
He don’t know what that means, does he?
I’m sure Stormfront is convinced!
I know almost nothing about it but I believe you.
“So Theodore, which tribe do you belong to?”
“ALL OF THEM!!”
“I AM NOT RACIST!!”
So he mocks those outside gender and sexual binary, then uses the same form of terminology for types of racist.
“How can a minority be racist?” Take a lonely vietnamese boy who is bullied and seeks comfort in /pol/ and /r9k/ for the majority of his childhood, you’ll get something.
Tbh if you’re not visibly native american, nor were u raised by and around native americans, it’s pretty meaningless. “Passing” as European and escaping the disadvantages of your racial background isn’t a new concept.
Also sounds like he didn’t even do a genetics test, and is relying on historical records, which is laughable. Everybody claimed to have a “cherokee princess” in the family tree back in the day.
@ calmdown
My lawyer friend calls that attitude of lumping all the tribes and nations together as if they’re a homogeneous group (especially the mix and match attitude to cultural icons) “Generikee”.
(Made me laugh anyway)
He writes his blog like he’s paid by the word; it’s not a word salad — it’s a word Smörgåsbord! (And that’s pretty darn white, amirite?)
I’ve unwisely followed some internet free-association trails back to his domain and every time I’ve been surprised by a new low. Not only is he a vile little man with vile little ideas he’s just not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.
Vox Day missed his calling, he should have gone into soft drink advertising.
“New Alt-Light! Same great bullshit, but with a different taste!”
Lumping all the different tribes together is like thinking Africa is a single country. Different tribes have different languages and cultures and are separate nations.
@Oogly
*opens and closes mouth speechlessly*
Y… you?
I look entirely white, very pale skin and green eyes, but I have a decent amount of Native American ancestry on my grandfather’s side. These people will actually hate you for even just having some small portion of your ancestry that’s not European. What would they do to people like us if they got in power? Granted, especially in North America, people are bound to have plenty of genetic variety in their backgrounds. People never stop moving and intermarrying. Nobody is “pure”, not even Europeans from Europe. And if they were, they’d be frightfully inbred. But of course, most sane people realize this already. 🙂
@calmdown
I still can’t believe that CollegeHumour of all sites has started posting pro-SJ stuff. Only a few years ago, it was practically Reddit in video form.
@Axe
Actually Axe that was my self loathing, used to be my closest friend in high school. “We are the n****** of Asians.” As I recall when he said he was okay with the idea of Vietnam being burned to cinders cause “we didn’t know bro that the Domino Effect was a load of right wing propoganda it’s not like we need to be smart about it.” Before my shutting down period he tore off the safety valve that kept his bigoted views from his and my circle when he realized that being in a UC school he couldn’t find a single person to express his incredibly racist and sexist views to.
Too much time was spent basically countering all the bullshit claims he had, basically take every single troll that ever posted on WeHuntedTheMammoth into one person, who I argued with repeatedly for an entire school semester before calling a quarter sabbatical, than it shown that he still did not change one bit.
I would never be caught dead in those sites, I’m not the type of guy who needs to think women who he likes didn’t go out with him as dirty good for nothing whores, unlike his obsession “but it’s not an obsession if a guy is keeping a lovedoll of his ex” or “but black people had civil rights so therefore bronx crime rate is their oen fault” or “glass middle east my safety is above all else.”
It’s even more sickening when I remember that he consoled me when I got kicked out of my family.
How does someone go from seeing a guy breaking down like this
“Haha, come on let’s laugh, just because my mom cut me off the family out of sheer spite doesnmt mean we can’t make a joke out of this.”
“It’s okay to cry”
To
“Why Ooglyboggles, you could be a robot, why do you resist it so, you must have been too far deep because you were raised my only women. Your sister ran to your ex dad after being the stereotype Stacy to a tee, your family is only women, you keep going until you break down, why do you not see that the world is full of degenerates partying and having sex?!”
“You understand bullying, why don’t you get me wanting to hurt others as revenge?” At least there I believed in payback to the individual rather than people not involved in my spats.
Sometimes I wonder if I was a girl would he act a whole lot worse when I am the polar opposite of him, or dismissive as “makes sense you’d act like that.”
