Been doing that for four years, and I still only have like… one third of a book. At this point new ideas are the worst that can happen. I already have way too much of that, even actually a plan that spans at least three books. At this rate I’m gonna spend my life on it ._.
Procrastination is also a huge part of the problem, I think.

Pretty much everything. She used to mainly write fiction and has based her writing on a feminist perspective for far longer than I have (I used to keep the politics out of the writing, then realized it could be smart to stop doing that) so her take is precious. It’s not a formal review in any sense, more like feedback on what works and what doesn’t, from the writing style to the characters’ personalities.
Another important thing is that because my method is so hectic, I tend to forget that things are unclear. Out of the 40-something chapters I have, only 20 or so can be linked in order, the others are just “flying” out there because I didn’t write everything in order. So I tend to take some points for granted, thinking I already made them clear, even though I actually never did. Since she doesn’t have my plan, doesn’t know what’s going on beyond what she can actually read, she can spot those confusions. Not sure if I managed to explain even that clearly, heh.

I happen to be a feminist (“No!!!” you’re thinking), plus proofreading is part of my job, so if you need a temporary replacement for your friend I’d be honoured.

Although there are a few things that can be translated and bulletpointized (nope, totally didn’t just make that word up) and that I need another perspective on, to figure out whether they’re good or bad ideas. Actually, that’s probably all of the ideas, everything. Wouldn’t even know where to start.
Right, I’ll admit that “Personally, my calculations have lead me to believe that women are going to be responsible for the dissolution of western civilization” is hilarious. I might print it out and hang it on my wall o’ morons.
It’s my turn to not be able to sleep. :p I’m not calling it insomnia because it’s just tonight and I’ve been fine lately.
It’s kind of adorable, though. Pepper followed me to bed and dozed next to me while I tried to sleep, and then when I got up she followed me into the living room and is napping on the couch next to me. She always wants to be near (or on top of) one of her people. 🙂

Anywho, went to sleep way the fuck early last night. Completely uninterrupted. Yay! And, writing this ~15 minutes after I woke up, I can’t remember the dream. Tho, I did open my eyes with a tune in my head and rather… frisky hands. And for some reason the need to google image search 55kg women. Not thin, specifically 55kg. I don’t even regularly use metric, the fuck? Now I kinda wanna remember what that dream was about. So many questions…

Holy shit, that incubus thing is fucked up. Anytime I’ve been sexually assaulted in my sleep, I was completely asleep. Can’t imagine being fully cognizant of it 🙁

Cats make erytink better. Well except my asshole cat. But he’s an asshole. He always, and only, gets on my lap when I’m sitting somewhere temporarily, like on the countertop waiting on the coffee machine. Then I’m pinned down and can’t go back to whatever extremely important thing I was doing, like throwing cat gifs at trolls.
Also, the french word for insomnia (insomnie, who’d a thunk) can be used even in your context, so I wouldn’t be shocked if you called it that. Anyway, did you manage to sleep eventually ?

If so, that is the most hilarious slip I’ve seen in a long while. Also since I’ve been playing Deus Ex recently, my mind is now flooded with images of people with mechanical limbs making love and suffering critical failures due to overheating. Complete with smoke and “pshhhh” sounds.
Sudden, random and temporary attraction to a certain body type isn’t unheard of, especially in this context since dreams often shake up the most random stuff from the bottom of your mind. But a really specific weight, in a measurement system that you don’t even commonly use ? Alright, that‘s weird.

With the friction my… frisky hands cause me, I’ve overheated a coupla times. It’s all fun and games until you start to chafe. Then it’s just sad. Unless that’s somebody’s kinda thing. You get it brutha!
I’m sayin! I know metric enough to be aware that 55 is a rather below average number, but why not 50 or 52? Worst part is all the disgusting ‘proana’ (an insidious, cutesy name for pro anorexia) nonsense that Google churns out from that search. ‘You’re 55kg? Ugly cow, you! Don’t eat, lose more, and boys might like you.’ Blergh!
You probably right about that dream shake up deal. I have lately been on an extended, fatter woman kick (apologies for the insensitive phrasing), so it might just be my brain reminding me that slimmer ladies also exist, and maybe i should ogle their photoshoots as well. Attraction and taste is a weird thing. There was a discussion on another thread a while ago about cognitive dissonance and finding people increasingly physically attractive the more we learn to love their personalities. Coincidentally, the two women I’ve loved the most, ever, were about 55kg and maybe small-average sized – since then, I’ve been mostly attracted to that specific body type. It doesn’t make a lot of sense but hey. The fact that I’m not much heavier than that myself (and rather on the tall side, so really skin and bones) might have something to do with it too. Being bombarded all day long with “perfect body type” bullshit from society at large and the fever swamps more specifically certainly doesn’t help either. But the “since then” part is important since before meeting them, I didn’t really have specific preferences or anything like that.
Random thought : when I was 16, I used to be in a quite open relationship with the very embodiment of the PUA anti-fantasy. She was conventionally pretty, but also tattooed and muscular, an outspoken feminist, a drug user, polyamorous and extremely violent. For whatever weird reason, I’m now scared of women who remind me of her too much – not even in appearance but in random things like speech patterns, body language and the like. Even though I wasn’t scared of her (I knew better than to give her a reason to scare me), the memory of her sorta lives on and affects how I view people around me. It’s weird.
Brains are weird.
I hope she’s doing good these days. And I hope she still gets a steady flow of assholes to make lewd comments around her and get their asses kicked.

Yay, new French knowledge. I’m terrible with false cognate and words that are mostly the same but subtly different like that. I really should study again. It’s been too long since I was fluent.
I did get to sleep. I finally realized the problem was my joints and gut flaring up so I took something for that. That’s the problem with chronic pain, it becomes background noise and you have to think about it to notice it, but it will still keep you awake even if you’re not actively aware of it.

To add some more details then, “une insomnie”, singular, means the occasional sleeplessness. Plural means the same as insomnia in english, or sometimes several instances of occasional sleeplessness.
