The 7 Most Surreal Pro-Trump/Anti-Hillary Memes of the, Let’s Say, Week?

Poop-related content removed from meme. Well, mostly.

Hey, remember when Friday was meme-day here at We Hunted the Mammoth? We’ve missed a couple, mostly because of horrible things happening in the world, but we’re back!

Today, some of the weirdest pro-Trump and anti-Hillary memes I’ve run across lately. Most of these are from Reddit — in particular, from r/The_Donald and r/HillaryForPrison. Enjoy, I guess.

dtmeme2
Er, what?

dtmeme3
I don’t think this is an actual American proverb. Also, FYI, fear the army of lions more.

dtmeme4
Less frustrated than confused, really.

dthilmeme1
No idea what’s going on here.

dthilmeme2
Or here.

Now this last meme — which I’ve censored a little — isn’t really all that weird. It’s just kind of revealing, at least about the sort of people who sit around making anti-Hillary memes.

weaklittle

Yikes.

Kat mentioned the National Enquirer up above. I’ve been feeling for some time that the “legitimate” press ignores the influence of the Enquirer, which is, I believe, a lot greater than anyone is willing to admit, particularly among its target audience, working-class white people. Donald Trump asked on Friday why it hadn’t gotten the Pulitzer Prize for its investigative story about the illegitimate child John Edwards fathered while his wife was dying of cancer. The answer, of course, is its sleazy reputation.

It is my understanding that the owner is a friend of Trump, and he certainly has consistently promoted stories intended to damage Democrats. For a while it had regular stories about Obama’s imminent divorce. A month or so ago the cover story was “Obama must be impeached immediately to save the country.” A couple of weeks ago it was “Hillary will spend the rest of her life in prison.”

It is right there at the checkout at many supermarkets where you can’t help seeing it, and while everybody claims to be much too smart to believe their stories, I think there are probably a lot of people who do believe it, and I think it must have some sort of subliminal effect as well.

I “got” the “Comic book lady licking Hillary” one. The Comic-Lady is saying “This is the taste of a liar” then slobbering.

It’s still stupid.

About the psychedelic truck thing; I think it’s supposed to be Hillary getting hit by a truck with the cool psychedelia being a cartoon explosion (but failing miserably).

Nequam explained the head-shaving one.

The Lion one is stupid. Trump looks more like a dead fox roadkill….like the one on his head.

Jousting is making a bit of a come-back in the UK. I saw some competitions in Wales when I was a kid. Must confess I quite liked it.

I do have a bit of a thing that people should be allowed to do what they want with their own bodies no matter how risky; and, unlike those poor robots, the participants are consenting. (Imagine if it transpires those robots have achieved sentience; no wonder they don’t fit them with vocal abilities).

I’m a communist and a member of IMT, and it’s been so exciting for me and my comrades to see what’s going on and see a tiny glimmer of hope on the horizon. Corbyn is no where near as far left as his critics make him out to be, which is a shame, but he is a man of principle and someone we can hopefully trust to lead us closer to a socialist future. 🙂

Rupert Murdock practically has the whole media empire at his command to spread his filthy propaganda. People need to wake up and stop falling for this nonsense.

@ gert

the shameful ‘antisemitism flap’

When a press conference to announce that you’re not anti-semitic culminates in a Jewish woman being hounded out of the room in tears, then you might have a bit of a problem with anti-semitism.

See also the shameful ‘antisemitism flap’ from Zionist mouth breathers like John Mann and Wesley Street et al.

I don’t know who any of those people are, but the racist buzzwords aren’t exactly helping your “Totally not a troll” case.

EDIT: And my Google search on this led me to a news site that also has an article about how Trump is God on Earth and Sanders is a JEEEW, so.

Again spot on. Remember they also tried to taint Ed Milliband with the ‘Red Ed’ label.

Isolated instances of anti-Semitism notwithstanding, cries of anti-Semitism! have been used to try and tarnish critics of the state of Israel since its inception. Today is no different. Mann e.g. tried this many times and got his fingers burnt quite badly once when doing so. But knuckledraggers don’t learn.

Angela Eagle also tried to pin some vandalism on Corbynistas, w/o a shred of evidence, then claimed Corbyn showed insufficient ‘leadership’ on the matter! Gutter tactics from gutter people.

Seriously, English Mammotheers, is The Spectator supposed to be a real newspaper or just a tabloid? Because if we’re throwing around the word “Shameful,” well, this is the most shameful thing I’ve had the displeasure of reading since the last crop of MRA screenshots.

It’s neither. It’s a comic. 🙁
It’s right up there with Fox/Sky news and Breit Fart.
To even call it ‘satirical’ would be to give it a form of dignity it does not deserve.

Alan & joeb – I don’t think Full Metal Jousting shouldn’t happen, I just won’t be watching; just like I don’t watch cage fighting or boxing. Or even NFL anymore. I’m just no longer a sportsball* fan. ‘Cuz I got my weed card* I suppose. >.<

Zionist? That’s absurd.

Zionists proudly call themselves Zionists too.

There are far more non-Jewish Zionists than Jewish ones, in case you’re claiming it’s a ‘dogwhistle’ for Jews.

Classic anti-Semites(TM) are rarely bothered about Zionism. To them ‘Jews are Jews’, no matter what but the deader the better. And since they don’t care for Palestinians either, I/P isn’t something they tend to get involved in.

You’re the product of a culture that sees itself as Israel’s greatest ally and in which criticism of that country is suspect by definition.

Isolated instances of anti-Semitism notwithstanding

That particular instance though took place right in front of Corbyn who just stood there as someone ‘spotted’ a Jew in the audience and proceded to yell anti-semitic abuse at her until she fled in tears. I do think in that circumstance it was incumbent on him to at least say something; but he just let the abusers do their work and then stay.

w/o a shred of evidence

But again, this is starting to echo GG rhetoric a bit too closely. ‘It never happened’; ‘she probably did it to herself’; ‘you can’t prove it’s us’ etc.

We’ve even had the ‘if someone really threatened to rape you, you’d have gone to the police, where’s the log?’ bit.

Corbyn is often misrepresented in the media; but this is one time where I think he really needs to make a clear unequivocal statement that this is unacceptable and take some actual steps to try to remedy this.

Re jousting:
I’m unconvinced by the argument that people can do whatever they like to their own bodies, because concepts such as informed consent are very difficult to pin down in fields like athletics or contact sports; or in areas where the biology is not yet properly known; or in anything where there’s social pressure to ignore the long-term health repercussions because of the glamour of being a hero.

Watching ex-athletes struggle with physical handicaps because they were sold a glamorous myth of their own immortality, is heartbreaking. It’s even more heartbreaking when they get tossed aside for newer, younger, equally disposable people who only see their precedessors as role models rather than as warning signs. If jousting is as dangerous as it’s said to be, then to encourage people to do it would be the height of irresponsibility and poor citizenship.

In a perfect world free of social pressure and replete with perfect information, I absolutely agree that people should be free to do what they like with their own bodies. In the world we live in, different rules apply.

That said, jousting is badass awesome and if we could get a safe version of it then it would be an amazing sport.

I’m neither American nor a fan of the murders and other human rights violations committed by Israel’s government. Assume, ass, etc.

It’s really not that hard to criticise Israel without hating all Jewish people. But, of course, it’s really not that hard to not be fatphobic, not be ableist, follow the bloody comments policy and not melt down like the Wicked Witch the moment somebody calls you out for your various and sundry bigotries, either.

EJ (The Other One)

I’ll echo opposablethumbs and Virgin Mary in saying that I support Corbyn and I think he has been maligned. I don’t believe in conspiracies and so I’m not convinced that Murdoch’s sitting behind it, but I do think the standard he’s being held to is not the same as that of the Blairites or Conservatives.

Separately, it is my experience that there is indeed a strain of anti-semitism in the Old Left wing of the Labour Party. I don’t like it and I’m happy to oppose it whenever it surfaces, not least because Labour should be the party most welcoming to religious minorities. However, I feel that it does get used as a weapon of convenience to discredit the Old Left, including by those who otherwise have shown little affection for the Jewish community.

If anyone is melting down here it’s you: spewing word salad and gratuitous insults.

If this is a remnant of that other thread then maybe you should go and read my last comment there.

It’s really easy to criticise Israel without hating ANY Jewish people. I don’t even ‘hate’ Netanyahu , I just happen to believe he’s very wrong.

I’ve no idea whether ‘Murdoch’s sitting behind it’ but the Tory backing tabloids jumped on an occasion to bash a Socialist, as they would. They probably didn’t need prodding by Murdoch but I don’t see what that changes.

Paradoxical Intention - Resident Cheeseburger Slut

Gert, SFHC isn’t the one trying to martyr themselves here because a few people threw about (rather tame) insults, nor does anything they’re posting qualify as “word salad”. It all made sense.

They had every right to call you out for your word choice, as “Zionist” is a favored word of the alt-right, and you’re still new here and thus your motivations are still suspect. We don’t know you that well. We don’t know if you’re telling us the truth when you say things like “I’m an ally!”

Especially since you’re standing on shaky ground from your meltdown in the previous thread you mentioned, where you got upset that people called you out for fatshaming someone, and you thought you could solely because they’re a horrible person, doubled down on that, and got upset when people stopped treating you with kid gloves because of it.

There are ways to have a discussion around here (and even get across that you disagree) without lashing out at everyone for calling you out for turns-of-phrase or words that aren’t a good idea and acting like you know best instead of listening to other people.

Which, by the way, “listen to everyone here when they call you out because they have their reasons” is exactly the same advice I gave you in the other thread.

And no, no one here has to be nice to you when you don’t listen, and insist that you should be able to say what you want to say, consequences or context be damned.

@Paradoxical Intention:

That is simply not true. You clearly know so little about the Palestine Solidarity Movement.

Alt-Righters don’t care about Zionism, they just loathe Jews, all of them, regardless.

But even if the Alt-Right did frequently use the term Zionist that simply is not a reason reason to stop using it. Should actual Zionists stop using it for that reason too?

Your reasoning is up there with ‘Hitler was a vegetarian, so vegetarians are Nazis’. It’s a pathetic argument.

And no, no one here has to be nice to you when you don’t listen, and insist that you should be able to say what you want to say, consequences or context be damned.

Be nice or not nice to me, it’s irrelevant. Perhaps it’s important to you. Not to me. So insult away to your heart’s content.

weirwoodtreehugger: communist bonobo

They had every right to call you out for your word choice,

It wasn’t even Gert’s word choice. They just felt the need to interject and basically accuse SFHC of being pro human right’s abuses against Palestinians just for saying the “Zionist” is an a word frequently used as an anti-Semitic dog whistle.

Now apparently it’s the poor Gert show again. It’s not that Gert could possibly be behaving badly. It’s just that we’re all mean and oppressive. Or something.
