Hey, remember when Friday was meme-day here at We Hunted the Mammoth? We’ve missed a couple, mostly because of horrible things happening in the world, but we’re back!
Today, some of the weirdest pro-Trump and anti-Hillary memes I’ve run across lately. Most of these are from Reddit — in particular, from r/The_Donald and r/HillaryForPrison. Enjoy, I guess.
Now this last meme — which I’ve censored a little — isn’t really all that weird. It’s just kind of revealing, at least about the sort of people who sit around making anti-Hillary memes.
Yikes.
@Brony, Social Justice Cenobite:
I’m not even remotely pretending to be something I’m not.
I repeat also that I have NEVER owned or operated a sock puppet. Not here, not anywhere, not in the past and not in the present. I hate that practice and won’t EVER indulge in it.
I’m not here to promote whatever ‘pet causes’ I may support either.
On many sites I post with my actual name. Anonymity has its disadvantages too.
Aw, I thought you weren’t going to address me anymore? But I guess loudly shouting about what I was talking about like a passive aggressive toddler doesn’t count?
“You didn’t reject me as an ally! I rejected ally-ship with YOU! That’s totally what happened!”

That would be funny if you weren’t fucking up simple four letter acronyms.
Though, if you’re too lazy and uncaring to figure those out, then perhaps copy-pasting is more your speed. I mean, you’re already copying racial dog whistles, why not copy everything else too?
And I think it’s funny that you capitalized something from my username in particular. It’s almost like you wanted to put emphasis on it. C’mon, you’re not even trying to be subtle anymore. Though I do think it’s cute that you’re trying to insult people with something I put in my own username.
Casually diagnosing a group of people with paranoia isn’t ableist, you guys! Really! Gert said so! And he has a degree from the Armchair Diagnosis School of Internet Psychology! [/sarcasm]
“Complaining about me saying ableist things is devaluing the term, because I don’t think what I said is ableist, and therefore it’s not ableist!”
Lord Almighty, you suffer from a bad case of Pretentious Shitlord Syndrome, don’t’cha?
@Alan: Well ahem I have to admit I have dental bridgework due to breaking a tooth right down to the root trying to pull off a non-standard move with the nunchuks as used by a videogame character. Oh deary me, that taught me better >_<
Everything about the kukri is hardcore. I mean it looks beautiful, with carved scrolling patterns on the blade and a sculpted handle, but it's still a big fuckin' sword under all that. Best way I can describe how it handles is like an axe. I can well believe those tales of 80 year old Ghurkas who can still rack up impressive kill counts with them. I did know about the shedding blood story, but my blade goes unfed. Who knows how powerful it would be if I could level it up on zombies…?
I'm a huge weapons nerd, I'm trying to figure out a way to get a pair of karambits next after being so impressed with them in The Raid 2.
@ varalys the dark
If anything, I think it’s downplayed on TV. We didn’t get new books ever because the football team needed new jerseys, often twice a year. Our projectors were broken a lot and the teacher would have a restriction on the number of photocopies they could make. Some joker would set a computer to December 31, 1999 and then we couldn’t use that computer for a year (at least we had computers, though). We had tons of “portables” (basically like a mobile home but as a classroom) for years because they wouldn’t spend any money on new construction. And this was in a rich, upper-middle class school. All the money went into the football team. And we were a lot better about that than our rival, who spent even less on books and instructional materials and more on football.
@Paradoxical Intention – Resident Cheeseburger Slut:
NICE!!!
/Yawn… you’re trying way too hard.
@kupo
Fuckin trailers, yo! To be real, when it didn’t rain, I liked em better than the classrooms in the buildings. They were special, ya know? My high school got a new space age building the year before I left. It was super cool, but I missed the ole doomboxes…
@kupo: Good grief that’s appalling. No wonder the “jocks” appear to have entitlement concepts the size of Jupiter.
@Alan: Ah teeth, bridgework, crowns, who needs real ones anyway? The one thing that really annoyed me about my back giving up on me is that I couldn’t do regular martial arts lessons anymore. I still do exercises at home and focus on my right hand side and not stress my left. But I freakin’ loved doing Jeet Kun Do. My sifu had been trained by Dan Inosanto. he could do the “One Inch Punch”. He was awesome.
I lived in Devon for a while and still have family there, nothing surprises me about the Cornish anymore 😀
@ varalys
One of us! One of us! Yup, all front teeth caps, most back teeth combo of amalgam or platinum. Martial arts are such fun 🙂
Here you see a demonstration of the traditional Cornish weapons; a chain and the broken neck of a guitar.

One of our more serous news programmes has been doing a series of features about US life as part of its election coverage.
One was about high school football and the amazing power that even a high school football coach has in a town; and how effectively the school revolves around him (was alway a him) and the team; and how that impacted on budgets and resources.
As one teacher put it “10,000 people won’t come out on a Friday to watch kids doing math”
My rational brain can put thoses information about sport in the “true” box, but my heart can’t believe it.
Nice to see that Gert has graduated from “Angry ranting asshole” To “condescending prick” Anyone want to take bets on how loing this lasts? I’m going with two posts.
@weirwoodtreehugger: communist bonobo:
Could you possibly be any less subtle? “All analogies are bad” but this one is so far out of the park it’s beyond moronic.
Criticising Zionists is like using the n-word?
@Gert : so close to the revelation, yet so far. You have seen the light then decided it was some moths.
Uh….I think your kind of missing the point. (oh and since I made the previous post they immediately go back to ranting. This is why I’m not a betting man.)
Gotta love how snooty and unwelcoming this community is towards people with dissenting views – of course, given that this IS a far leftist website, I would be hard-pressed to believe that it could be otherwise. Someone shows up from the real world and professes to be your “ally” (as though a bunch of godless perverts like yourselves would need help with your degeneracy), and you jump down that person’s throat because they broke one of your precious shibboleths. I could flash a bunch of octogenarian nuns and get a less offended response from them; you leftists are always walking around like you’ve got a permanent case of hemorrhoids or something. Do you limp-wristed mouth-breathers ever consider just taking a chill-pill (sorry, am I being ableist? I can’t tell) and maybe NOT getting your panties in a twist dog-piling and snarking someone you disagree with? Or is this the inevitable consequence of letting a site become overstocked with estrogen? Enjoy spending the rest of your lives complaining about how unfair everything is, leftoids; I’ll be busy dieting and keeping my body nice and svelte with exercise.
@Zatar:
It would be better if Scented Fucking Hard Chairs could back up his vile accusation with a modicum of evidence, wouldn’t you agree?
@Alan
On the plus side, I learned a lot of 1970’s French slang from my text books (in the 1990’s, in case the y2k bug reference didn’t give that away already).
@Ohlmann:
Says someone who thinks it’s problematic to say things like “pro-palestinian”!
Just in case what, precisely?

@SFHC
It’s like two pages back now, but calling Gert GELF made me laugh out loud. I’ve never seen a lot of Red Dwarf though (I feel it didn’t age well anyway so I’m not going to go back to it now) and mostly where I know the term from now is the card game Smash Up.
@Josh
Are… there people who have Thor as their favorite character? I guess I’m mildly surprised, but then it’s true that people like all sorts of different things (some people juggle geese!). But yeah, I mean, I’ve always found him to be kind of… meh. I have not seen anything with the female Thor yet though, haven’t really been keeping up because of said meh-ness, but maybe I should still check it out.
@Axe
Your fave is Cyclops? I guess I can’t blame you after Whedon’s Astonishing X-men, but that’s basically the only time I’ve ever known anyone who could make Cyclops shine.
I would be hard-pressed to choose a favorite myself though. I mean, DC? Definitely Batman (not original, I know, but he’s a classic for a reason). Marvel? … Hmm, I like the new Ms. Marvel, she’s pretty awesome 😀
@Axe
So sorry about the hives! I mean, maybe they could have reused Thunderstrike, instead? I’m just not really big on legacy characters in general, honestly. Some of them are cool though, like Jaime Reyes (Pre New 52, anyway….) but on the whole I usually prefer new heroes go have their own identities.
Annnnd back to condescension. Real rolercoster folks.
Also put mondoweiss into google and the first thing to come up is “mondoweiss hate site.” Surprise surprise.
Just in case a neo-Nazi meets you and thinks, “Ah, this person uses the same dog whistles that I do; they must agree with me. It must be okay to be a neo-Nazi, all the more so since this person is an admirable human being and so their views carry greater weight.”
You do try to be an admirable human being at all times, do you not?
Social cues are extremely powerful in affecting human decision-making, despite what a lot of people like to believe about themselves. Making sure that you don’t inadvertently send the wrong ones is important.
In your case, it sounds like you’re sending the right ones, though.
@ViolinlessHoax
…yes? There are people who still like Batman, after all, and he’s been absolutely ruined in the last ten years or so.
Yes. That is also what I was saying in the other thread… some… threads ago.
