QUIZ: Does A Voice for Men think Roosh is a rapist con man or a super cool dude?

Found on Hail to the Gynocracy

NEWS QUIZ!

Here are two quotes about the lovely Roosh V, who has been in the news so much of late. Which one of them comes from a post in the formerly almost-influential Men’s Rights site A Voice for Men?

QUOTE 1) “I found Roosh, the man behind the hype and the controversy, to be a layered, tempered and earnest guy, who truly wants to help other men in their most basic and primal of life goals; a deep thinker, a powerful communicator and, even now in his more “settled” mode, a driven personality that nevertheless is a gracious host. … I got nothing but respect for the guy… .”

QUOTE 2) “The media has decided that confessed rapist RooshV is an MRA. He is not. He is a snake oil salesman peddling bad advice to confused men to pollute their bodies with dangerous barely-legal hormones and other dodgy supplements, along with equally bad advice on health, exercise, and women.”

Ha! It’s TRICK QUESTION!

Both quotes are from A Voice for Men.

The first is from the introduction to a two-part puffball interview with Mr. V, posted by prolific AVFM contributor Mumia “Obsidian” Ali a year ago.

The second is from something former AVFM number two boy Dean Esmay posted on AVFM yesterday.

What changed in the year between the interview and Esmay’s post? Roosh didn’t change. AVFM didn’t change.

I think what changed is that a year ago AVFM thought it might be able to win over some of Roosh’s followers, boosting site traffic and presumably donations as well.

And now, well, pretty much everyone in the world has discovered how vile Roosh really is, to the extent that Members of Parliament are making jokes about Roosh’s penis in the House of Commons.

Here’s a fun tidbit: Davis Aurini is a total Roosh fanboy (surprise suprise) and apparently pushes those weird herbal supplements on his podcast too. Maybe the same ones?

Also, he kept advising Jordan Owen to listen to Roosh in order to overcome his problems getting and keeping a girlfriend. Owen, to his credit, basically went “EW!”

I didn’t know he was selling supplements and “giving health advice” too, though it’s not shocking. Maybe that’s how he got on Dr Oz.

Looks like Roosh is adding the stink of failure to his personal body odor cocktail.

When even MRAs are embarrassed to be associated with you, you have sunk as low as you can go.

What a sad and pathetic man.

Wait, Dean Esmay is back at AVFM?

I thought he left. Maybe I’ve got him confused with another slimeball.

As far as I can tell, these aren’t mutually exclusive; AVFM is staffed principally by con men who sound awfully rapey, so…

ROK has an article up called “Everything You Wanted To Know About Roosh But Were Afraid To Ask “, written by the Man Himself.

The article itself reeks of desperation but that’s not what strikes me about it. The comments read like Roosh has taken on an army of sock puppets and is writing about half of them himself. Read the comments by a “Kirsten Wallace” who’s using a pic of a pretty girl but who sounds like Rooshy boy. There’s others too. I guess when you’re stuck in Mom’s basement all day, there’s not much else to do.

I knew that picture would pay off eventually.

“AVFM vs. AFVM” needs to become a regular category.

(I’m sure there’s plenty of self-contradiction elsewhere to be found in the wankosphere, too.)

PS: That Adolf video is hysterical!

Read the comments by a “Kirsten Wallace” who’s using a pic of a pretty girl but who sounds like Rooshy boy.

The other day we got some similar troll comments from Roosh defenders who had female names like Kimberly and Hilary but sounded suspiciously male.

As an aside there was an excellent article on Roosh V on Truthout. Didn’t want to put it in the Roosh-free open thread.

I have mentioned this to someone on Twitter who brought it up too. AVfM is being REALLY inconsistent.

But, I suppose that’s par for the course.

you would not believe how easy it is to rile up MRAs by comparing them to roosh/PUAs

the other day I read an article labeling RoK as an MRA site in the title, and the comment section was quickly overflowing with MRAs, even some big name ones like Dean Esmay and GWW, crying unethical journalism at being grouped together with their fellow red-pilled

just incredible

I don’t know about the other ones in that comment section, but I did a quick research on her out of curiosity… And she unfortunately seems real to me.
Or a REALLY dedicated fake with multiple accounts and pictures all over the Internet.

It honestly baffles me when a real woman thinks like that. Her life seems to be rough from the little I read of her comments, but… Damn.

Kirsten Wallace has a Facebook account with status updates going back to January. If she’s a fake then someone has set this up for a while.

I thought she was fake at first because her disqus profile only has thirty posts and all on RoK, but she appears to be legit.

Ignoring all the blatant misogyny of RoK, I don’t see how anyone can call their discussions and opinions intellectual. My bg dick theories have more intellectual substance than the whiny shit they post on RoK.

@Dr Hoveiny – Roosh got featured on Dr. Oz due to his unapologetic fat-shaming; the episode was basically about why fat-shaming is harmful and doesn’t work. Roosh seemed genuinely baffled that Dr. Oz wasn’t on his side.

Considering how much time these boys seem to have on their hands, I frankly wouldn’t be at all surprised if more than one of them has an ongoing female sockpuppet for purposes just like this one. Not saying it’s definitely not a real woman, just that I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

That seems to be a recurring feature of these sorts of people, doesn’t it?

I was in an argument with a bunch of #GGers last night, one of whom was insisting that their movement was actually comprised of lots of separate groups and therefore the harassment campaigns shouldn’t be held against the “good” ones. She then proceeded to expound a breathtakingly complex taxonomy which was quite impressive for a group which probably only has four digits of members.

No wonder the manospherians can’t do any actual activism. Keeping up to date on their internal divisions is basically a full time job.
