I’m not sure that “waifu”, or for that matter, “husbando” (which is also a term, if less commonly used) is really a “bad word”, so much as a term whose meaning is something which some people wish really didn’t exist as a concept. And it did exist as a concept before those terms existed, it just wasn’t talked about openly. The most common use of it is to imply an emotional attachment to a fictional character or an inanimate object (or, quite often, an inanimate object which is a depiction of a fictional character) at a level normally reserved for a significant other. I suppose that it could be seen as ableist (if used to imply that someone is emotionally stunted) or racist (if used to imply that it’s a sign of Japanese inferiority) or even objectifying (if used to describe an attraction to a real person). But all those uses would be context-dependent. It would be like considering either “dyslexic” or “stupid” to be a bad word because some people imply that those who have dyslexia are stupid.

Then again maybe there’s some new use of the term which I haven’t encountered which genuinely taints those words. Given how often racists and sexists use animé avatars, it wouldn’t be completely surprising. But at the moment I’m not seeing any issues.

More on douches, vaginas are self cleaning and douching can mess up the PH balance of the vagina which can lead to all sorts of nasty infections and stuff. People THINK douches are beneficial but they can mess up the parts pretty badly in the long wrong, much like any human douche.

Plus, Lysol was originally made as a douche and no one wants that near their vagina. At all.

@argenti, at one point it clicked for me that “douchecanoe” is a slang for “vagina”, and i was immediately turned off of saying it. As gendered insults go it’s not bad, mind you, since it doesn’t imply weakness, femininity, etc – it’s rather like “dick” in meaning “generally a bit of a jerk.” I just don’t like it. You mileage may vary!

Just say that it’s pretending you want to be married to something which isn’t real. And if you really don’t like it, add something to the effect that it’s not something they should be doing, even if it’s just, “that’s bad, please don’t do/say it”. Even most 5-year-olds can understand that.

Also, 99.99999% of all cuckolding porn features a white couple with a black third person (which is probably where “Bull” comes from, because horrible slavery stuff), so there’s an enormous racist element too.
