In another grand public relations coup for the Men’s Rights movement, Paul Elam’s drunken party tape has been featured on The Majority Report with Sam Seder, a sharp and funny political podcast I’ve started listening to on a fairly regular basis (and that you all might want to check out).
In the clip above — taken from a show a couple of weeks back, but only just posted online — Majority Reporter Matt Binder tries to explain Elam’s infamous 2-minute video, in which a bunch of grizzled, inebriated A Voice for Men dudes joined him in a rousing game of “who can embarrass the Men’s Rights movement the most by shouting drunkenly about how much they don’t want to get blow jobs from a feminist writer half their age and then go on to describe another feminist writer’s vagina as stinky.”
Yeah, it’s sort of an odd game. (Elam won, by the way.)
Seeing Elam’s video again — or at least the portion of it that Binder included on the show, before he got so disgusted by it he turned it off — I was inspired to come up with a game of my own.
You see, I’ve noticed that AVFM’s Facebook page has been posting what you might call “Quotations from Chairman Paul” memes, featuring quotes from Elam underneath a picture of his grim visage. A couple of examples:
Yeah, they manage to be both ridiculous and terrible, a bit like the Men’s Rights movement itself.
But they got me thinking. We could make some “Quotations from Chairman Paul” memes of our own!
Here’s one I made, inspired by Elam’s drunken tirade on his party tape.
Feel free to use that pic of Elam (or any other that you might prefer) to make memes of your own!
If you’re looking for good quotes, there are dozens of possible candidates in the archives. “Paul Elam In His Own Words” is always a good start.
And, seriously, check out The Majority Report; you can sample snippets of it (like the video above) on Youtube.
Those “chairman Paul” memes look like some kind of propaganda for a crappy Dystopian Sci-Fi film. These people take themselves way too seriously for what’s essentially whining that not enough women service them sexually or pay attention to THEIR needs.
Lame Paul Elem must be into some sort of DIY….??
“Both ridiculous and terrible…”
The men’s rights movement in a nutshell.
And then there’s this bit of ElamWisdom from Mister Elam himself:
“Your only salvation, which you enjoy in spite of your moral turpitude…”
Paul has himself confused with God. Of course, that’s nothing new for patriarchs.
“Welcome! Welcome to A Voice For Men. It’s safer here.”
I’m willing to bet Cookie Cats that in response to this, Elam and/or the other MRAs will throw a fit along the lines of THIS CUCK/MANGINA/WHITE KNIGHT LIIIIIIEEESSS!!!
Right… Paul’s growing hard on for violence against women is as subtle as usual… basically: “You uppity women are SO lucky we won’t use force to shut you up. Because you’d totally deserve it for saying things we don’t like. Acting like you’re actually people and shit. Like you REALLY deserve it. For real. I mean, wouldn’t it be bad if some POOR OPPRESSED MAN (completely on his own accord and in no way due to my instigation) decided to GET VENEGANCE?”
The best is that Elam’s cartoon has so much more and nicer hair than the man himself.
How comically insecure can one man be?
Aren’t memes meant to be pithy? I’d love to see that one about Zoe and Anita fitted onto a placard or a tee shirt.
Snorkmaiden,
They really can’t grasp the difference between meme and essay. There’s really no medium in which they won’t only express themselves in tedious, pretentious, yet completely wrong teal deers.
Ouch! That was hard on my eyes. I’d wager none of them ever got a bj from……….. anyone. LOL! And that short black guy in the hat – Obsidian (of Just Four Guys and the Obsidian Files), is that you?
Paul Elam’s (or any MRA) projection never fails to astound me. Well, and his stupidity. I can’t think of a brighter light that could shine on Anita or Zoe than the world stage, and a voluntary one at that, so I’m not sure what he thinks his spotlight will do, but whatever.
It’s strange, but I’m actually enjoying his rantings these days. They are the single best reason for his slide in the last 18 months.
Matt Binder was questioning the why Elam is calling this ‘The Blair Bitch Project’, is a dig at Blair Braverman who attended last years conference with GQ’s Jeff Sharlet.
A lot of the anger about the GQ article was directed at her, she being the nearest woman, as per usual.
That they’re still fixated on her is pretty pathetic.
@WWTH,
true, I’ve recall Sage Gerard’s attempts at being succinct with those condom wrappers, it wasn’t pretty.
@sn0rkmaiden
One would expect a teal deer meme to be an oxymoron, but no! Not in the manosphere, young lady!
I’ve also been listening to Majority Report for a while now. Good show, but along with Citizen Radio I’m not sure I can justify spending 2 hours/day listening to progressive political podcasts. 🙁
Can we invent longer days already? Days are way too short.
Falconer:
He does kinda look like Breen, I suppose.

Actually, that would be a good meme, Paul Elam’s face with ‘TL; DR’ underneath it.
Once again, the MRBowelM own-goals itself.
At this rate, they’ll get those equal rights in…oh, about however long it takes Paulie to kick the bucket, or thereabouts.
“miscalled” sympathhy? I can’t even figure out what word he mean to use.
You know, I glanced at the images here before reading the actual article, so I assumed that all three meme images were meant as ironic lampoonery. That the first two of these WEREN’T meant ironically is, well, something.
@Vanir85 – Yeah, pretty much; he’s not gonna explicitly incite violence, but he has to at least remind people that he maybe could incite violence. Oh and he basically says that they deserve violence against them, but he’s being extra-super-good by not actually calling for it – all he’s doing is, you know, suggesting to his potentially-violent followers that these two deserve violent retribution. Yeah, fuck this guy.
@orion
They were going for “misplaced sympathy”
Sometimes I lose track…what is the bullying that these women are doing? Is the “silencing” and “oppression” supposed to be denying men the right to…threaten women for saying things that these guys don’t like? Or is there something else? I know there’s the supposed crime of suggesting that maybe game developers should consider how women are portrayed in the games they develop (A.S.’s major crime, right?) and, um, breaking up with a guy who never reviewed a free game that you developed (Z.Q’s major crime?), but is there some kind of follow up that actually could be interpreted by any reasonable person to be somehow trying to silence someone…other than, you know, trying to get them to stop threatening to kill and/or rape them?
The question is only partly rhetorical…
When will Elam “shine a light” on these “false threat narratives”? The world waits for specifics.
@Kat
“The world waits for specifics.”
Specifics are gynocentric.
David! That’s a shitty meme because you fucking sourced it! Don’t you know the first rule about MRA meme-making: Steal Everything, Source Nothing?!
First thing I could think of was a play on his name, the picture with the caption “I’m backward!”
